Barton was given 13 games (oct 26th) before being sacked with the club in 16th . I would imagine MT will get the same sort of time/games. Lots of games coming up in October so the chance to turn things around...or continue poorly.

Lots of games coming up in October so the chance to turn things around...or continue poorly. We racked up 12 points from our first 8 games so that bought Barton time. If we lose (hopefully not) tomorrow and draw /lose Saturday that'll be 7/8 points in 10 games it could potentially be 6 straight defeats. We could win both games this week and push us right up there. We'll see

I give it 2 more games before he's gone can't see a win on Tuesday against Charlton Lose against Burton and he will be gone My Choices for Taylors replacement Neil Critchley Stephen Clemence (Barrow) Steven Schumacher Can see the board going for the cheaper option of an out of work manager rather than trying to prise a manager from a club

We have to be realistic, but sensible choices, with League 1 experience are:
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Neil Crithchley Richie Wellens (Orient), Woodgate (Middlesbrough first-team coach) as outlier.
We are certain to be relegated unless there is a redical change. As we now have so many players on 3 year contracts, the inspiration, organisation and coaching have to be injected from outside.

Why appoint the inexperienced George Friend as Coach?

Whoever has been appointed as manager over the past thirty years or more, has failed to get us into the second tier. It is dreadful when one considers the size of Bristol, Rovers have languished in third tier and below. What is it with all the managers?

I like that option. Has the added advantage of really annoying JB and one or two of his cultists.

It's not the manager's per se it's the quality of the players, nearly all the teams that get to the championship have a core of championship players, look at Wrexham etc, when was the last time we had such a team? If you want to get to that level you have to take the risk and invest heavily in the playing side and in truth we don't appear to either have that level of funds or are unwilling to do so.

If MT is sacked this week I have no fait in the owners and board to interview and picked the right candidate How many teams supporters would say the same about their club. How many teams have the right man? If it was so easy all teams would have the right manager and then what every game ends nil nil?

Having watched Wael's interview on a Reading fan train spotter podcast about how to run a football club properly I have every confidence he will advise the Al Saeeds to appoint a manager as good as the last three he appointed whilst in charge.

I doubt he would come, but if I had a free choice, I would be all other Ainsworth, but I bet a load of our fans would hate that

MT was a strange appointment in the first place, when the new owners publicly stated they wanted someone with Championship experience !!!!
It also seems difficult for new managers taking over from long time/successful/dominate predecessors !!
Personally I feel even if we went on a 10/12 game winning run (which I know won't happen) MT still wouldn't have all the fans on his side, & unfortunately for him, I can only see 1 outcome.

I know hes the proper definition of Marmite , but I wouldnt be against Warnock.
Obv due to his age blah blah blah , he would be looking at a interim role as with Aberdeen , putting us in a better place. Meanwhile that buys us enough time to scout a long term candidate.
He can only say no , or come up and be interviewed while seeing what would be at his disposal . Just a thought , but I would be very confident in him.
Currently at Torquay , in an advisory role.

So that was: Coughlin Garner Barton ? Coughlin wasn't given the investment he wanted and buggered off. Garner couldn't get his team to score goals. Barton got his team to score goals for about 4 months of a season in division 4. Sounds like Wael is a genius! 🤣

We’re committed to a squad of largely players of technical ability rather than physicality and so you have to select a manager to suit the squad because he has little or no chance of being able to put together a squad to suit the manager…..
Ainsworth with this group would be a complete mismatch and a disaster. As MT has found out by trying to make it into a tough battling direct side.
Whoever takes over (should it happen) has to be someone who leans towards tactical and technical attributes rather than physical.
My bet is Dave Horseman would take over in the interim in an emergency and I’d actually not be against that at all.
