So historically many of you have said it would not be so bad having BG if you could see progress on the pitch / performances. Based on that, can we take the positives from Saturday and tonight that we are now starting to move in the right direction in finding our identity or are you still of the opinion that we are still poor?s some Sh1!heads will right no.

I thought that was a very entertaining game. I think we played well tonight and really should of won the game after 90 minutes. Mehew impressed me again and I think we could have a good player on our hands. I do feel a little frustrated that we have brought a player in on loan who seems very similar to Mehew and having him on loan will possibly mean Mehew’s game time will be hampered this season. Maybe the management feel he isn’t quite ready for competitive first team action just yet. Does look promising though. I can see people’s point on that it shows we need more goal scoring options up front. I think an experienced striker would suit us best and could also help develop the young players we have here. Easter type player would be good. Whilst I don’t think Kilgour did much wrong tonight I do also feel he is lacking in some of the confidence he showed last season. It could be down to the fact he is still a young man with a lot still to learn in the game which we forget due to his performances last season. Maybe some time out of the team will do him good. We know how good he can be so I don’t want to be overly critical and hopefully a little rest can get him back to his best. Kilgour by my reckoning is missing the guy alongside who organised him and was his mentor, Millwall Tone. so then he's got to step up - can't have someone holding his hand all his career. I'm sure Alfie will have a strong season.

Well said the Gasman it is time that fans were allowed back in this can not go on 4 ever other countries r letting fans back in why not us Because we are having a second spike, down to the idiots who didn't social distance or wash their hands properly. Had this happened then we would have been allowed in against Northampton. Universites have really high figures, so, not so clever are they yeah university students are the thickest !

This competition is very important to Oxford - they’ve been to Wembley twice recently and made good money as a result. This plus the poatponed game probably means their strongest team. We, on the other hand, are looking to give fringe players competitive game time. Good point, but maybe promotion might be priority for them this season.

Quiet day on the forum so lets hear your views for tonight match vs. Oxford Action: Who do you think Ben will pick based on his pre/post match pressers. Include any comments about whether you agree with the line up and what you would like to see My prediction 3-4-3 JvS -- Kelly, Baldwin, Kilgour -- Leahy, Hargreaves, Upson, Hoole -- JML, Ayunga, Walker Couple more of the youngers in the side and i have gone with Ayunga despite him maybe not playing with that knee soreness that kept him out on Saturday I think we may also see Mehew in the middle if we opt for 3-5-2. I feel that Hoole might be introduced as with our injuries we are a bit light on the RB/RWB side What do you think? Also i think we may struggle in this match given that the rumour is that Oxford may go with a strong team as their match was postponed on saturday. Good team selection. Just wonder if Mehew will come in the centre with Upson , like he did v Walsall, and Hargreaves will be put on the right with Hoole on the bench.

Jaakkola 6
Baldwin 7.5 Ehmer 7 Harries 8
Hare 7 Grant 6.5 Westbrooke 6.5 McCormick 6.5 Tutonda 8
Daly 7 Hanlan 8
Subs: Nicholson 5 Hargreaves
Ref 8 Northampton 2
Easy win in the end - god knows how we missed a few at the end. Northampton still playing L2 football a division higher. Great to see the new signings looking sharp - Baldwin, Hanlan and especially Tutonda.

Hare and Tutonda given a go - maybe the future for the Gas. BG has dropped a few and quite right - has to find a winning formula and team. C'mon GASSS !!

I believe - what else is there to do ? But, we'll have to play a lot better than we did v Donnie. A great result would be 1 -0 - 3 pts and a clean sheet - both needed badly after the disorganisation and defending last week. Let's GO GAS !

Now it may be fair to blame it on poor training/conditioning or warming up, but all of those signings were injured at some point after they signed, making it a lot harder to get his change of ethos across. The problem with calling for the head of the manager when things aren't going the way you dream of them going, is that you're never going to be happy. Unless we're winning the Premier league or major trophies, you're always going to be wanting more more more. We were playing non league a few years ago FFS, and now you're suggesting that if we're not pushing seriously for the Championship, then we should sack the manager! So we get promoted, then what? We sack the manager if we don't go up to the Premier league? You're aspirations are unrealistic, unsustainable or just plain delusional! If we don’t sack the manager we will be back in l2. If we don’t axe him then, we will be back in the conference. Happy with that? Happy with sticking with him? Is that sustainable? Is it really delusional to expect a manager who has won 2 games in 23 or whatever it is now to be beyond being able turn it around? I don’t understand where Ben has bought this ridiculous loyalty from? If we had a manager who was seeing us progress season to season, even if it meant a mid table finish this year, a mid table finish next, followed by a shot at the playoffs after that then fine as long as were looking to progress and not resting on our laurels. It’s not a chain of disliking managers, it’s a recognition that this guy is beyond incompetent at being a manager and will only get us relegated despite the fact he likes to parade around making it out as if he’s the next Klopp. After 3 games we're relegated - holy smoke !

give it time and it will work-negatives dont want it to happen -Garner will get it right-mid table this season -top six next-its a completley new squad what do people expect-the wins will come but the negatives will always find something to complain about as thats their life Yaaaayyyyyyyyy!!!! MID-TABLE!!!!!! WHOOOOOOO!!!! Do we dare to dream? Mid-tay-bull! Mid-tay-bull! Mid-tay-bull! Whose on the mid-table bus with us?! Come on guys! We can do it! What a season that's gonna be! Seriously. Can you imagine? Wael will have to break out the open top bus if we smash a mid-tabler. F**K YEAH! I sense you're a realist - nice one.

great to see the negatives are out all ready-great support as always You call them negatives, I call it realists and calling a spade a spade. Maybe you can give us some positives. We've got 1 point and only have to play Sound, Ipswich and Donnie once more. It's going to be wet at The Mem tomorrow but I'll be dry.

Leicester also had the lowest possession percentage the year they won the premier league. It’s fine to play a possession based game if your one of the top sides in your division and you’ve got the players to do it. But we aren’t and we haven’t. Simple as that. In a country known for it’s technical ability with the ball Atletico Madrid managed to win the league and reach numerous champions league finals despite playing a style that relied on counter-strikes. I’ve never bought into the idea that possession is king, each pass increases the chances of a move breaking down. Incisive possession with the ball whilst playing at a quick tempo and solid defending without it is the perfect marriage of efficiency and style. It sounds like Coventry were of that mould last season. They were the complete opposite

Jaakkola 4.5 didn't help defence out at corners and free kicks
Kilgour 3 all over the place Ehmer 3 not a leader, fouled too much Harries 4 Leahy 5 one extra for the goal
McCormick 4 hardly noticed him i 2nd half Grant 4 didn't carry ball forward or pass forward (playing under instructions ?? ) Westbrooke 6 got attacks going
Mitchell-Lawson 3 fell over a lot Hanlan 6 good, but needs a forward in support Daly 4.5 faded after reasonable start
Subs: Ayunga 4 Walker 4 Tutonda
Ref 6 Doncaster 8 A terrible performance from our defence and midfield bar Westbrooke. Donnie showed us how pass and move looks like and they had a reliable defence. My patience with BG has been severely dented by his selections and set up. He needs to get a solid base and work from there. AK, CH and ME cannot play in a 3. AK and ME were so bad I think they should be benched for Northampton - bring in Baldwin and Little and play 4 at the back. Time for 4 - 4 -2. to get some stability and belief in the players with Ogogo, Upson and Little coming in. You just knew if Donnie got the 1st it was game over.

3-0 Donny, BG stood looking on helpless, casually dressed in his Rovers free 'Top Man' attire. It’s probably something that nobody would really be bothered about if we were winning games but his scruffy, casual clothes really get on my nerves. his beard ? his London accent ? he's short ? His pop out eyes ?

Hare_Hargreaves_Grant_Westbrooke_Tutonda __________Ayunga___Hanlan Two strikers & a stronger midfield. There's zero protection for the two wing backs in that formation I assume would be BG's response. Don't understand this Topper, what do you mean ?

I wasn't around for last week's game so I'm really looking forward to watching this one. I noticed that Donnie got a lucky draw at home to MK Dons 1st game so I don't think they are as strong as previous seasons. I'm fully behind BG and the players he has brought in - some good signings there (watched v Cardiff). The only thing I wish he'd change around is to play 2 up front - Would be great to see Hanlan alongside Ayunga.

He's over 35 years old and played 2 games last season. It sounds like a great signing - more likely going to be a bit part player - 13 midweek games squeezed into this season, I'd rather have Hanlan.
