I was told he was on north of £20k per week. Oxford are paying Snakes wages.

Bill Dodgin, Rovers finished in what would be a playoff place in his seasons, he brought in Don Megson as player coach. And the best win, draw. loss of any post war manager. And it was great to watch.

Jimmy Hill's Coventry City, 1963. He dragged football into the game we've got today. They had a large noisy away support. Sky Blues were 2-0 up at half time. Rovers came back at them second half to get a draw, so exciting, I was hooked. So much so, me and my mate went to the next Rovers game, away to the sheeds. Got the Wessex special, it was full of horrible sheeds. They didn't wait for us after the game which Rovers lost 4-1. Hated them ever since.

Pretty sure cup games are ring fenced so he'll miss the replay as will OC for 2 yellows. Although I thought you now only received a red for serious foul play not a professional foul in the penalty area? Should only be a yellow if an attempt to get the ball, ie not a push or handball. So strange one Tugged his arm well outside penalty area, red for that I guess, never touched him inside area. Should not have been a penalty.

Yey I am all for loaning them a couple of our development squad players to give them some game time ,trouble is the last player we 'gave 'them never got a kick and is since trying his luck at Oxford! According to Karl Robinson, he didn't come cheap. Players Lee lent to his old man at Torquay were reported to be on £1k a week, not that they paid that.

Which is why I have said, who ever is in charge next season, will have an easier job. As Payne's pay off won't count and we will have Bennett and Nichols off the wage budget. TBH I can't imagine anybody having an easier job than this season of making the top 6, even top 3, as the division seems the weakest it's been for years. FFS Wycombe are now clear at the top having only lost 1 game!! Next season will be too late. Oxford realised this and took the chance and got snake, and listening to Karl Robinson they are paying most if not all his wages.

So, game against Sunderland is called off when JCH is fit and they are going through bad spell. Rovers win.
JCH goes to Sunderland, plays against Rovers. They win. That's a six point difference between the two clubs. What price that.

I remember the first game we played with that rule and he got caught out with that. Away somewhere I think. Brian Parkin was a fantastic goalkeeper --- possibly our best after Nigel Martyn. Brian's problems with the new back pass rule are well documented and remembered but in mitigation pitches then were a lot worse than the bowling greens they play on today. Also, defenders were learning to stroke any back passes rather than just knock it back knowing that the goalkeeper could catch it. Of course it was the same new ruling for everybody but Brian found it tougher than most to adjust. I think the first home game that season against Newcastle, Parkin picked up a backpass early on and Newcastle scored from the indirect free kick. It ruined him, he stopped going for crosses as well.

Ah hope. The magical 4 letter word that keeps us all turning up week in week out. lost all hope when Maggie was kicked out of Govt..... I think hope at that level disappeared with the demise of her mate Lord Weston

Don't worry. One of the bigger clubs will get to the final, take 30,000 and Shaun Harvey will call it a success. Well Sunderland for one won't be there. They had a decent side out, minus international call ups of course. If Scunny could do that to last years finalists no wonder they cried off Saturday.

Don't get me started on the diesel subject FOR YEARS AND RUDDY YEARS consecutive governments preached the benefits of buying a diesel car, so I did, and now I'm public enemy number one, outlawed from the c*ty centre and banished from the Green's B*STARDS!!! Give it ten years and everyone who bought an electric car will be in that same boat! If the centre is only 28 feet above sea level, that is what you will need.

Kettering is another one, a club so good they want bust a few years later! Must be the poorest excuse ever from a Rovers manager, Gerry Francis said he knew he was in trouble when he saw Ketterings teamsheet and there were players he couldn't afford. Don't think Kettering could have afforded Nighel Martyn, Ian Holloway, Gary Penrice and Steve Yates to name a few.

You would think that the FA would schedule FA cup rounds to coincide with international weekends, where many teams like Sunderland would be prepared to field weakened sides to avoid congestion later on. or call them off and then cause total chaos with the draws etc plus demean the cup even more than it has been already. You think Rovers will field their strongest team against Bromley?

Serious question, do you really think this squad are capable of promotion ? Head tells me no mate but momentum could happen and for as long as some of the big boys are underperforming we have a chance. Wycombe seem to have momentum.

Took a break Jules, only commentating on football now and what I get told from my career working in football. Keeping off the politics of fruit market and all that, hands up, I don’t know much on this but I have heard there are off the record feelers out there with Bristol City up for sale. I do know Boro have watched Jonson a lot this season, heard that again at Brentford yesterday as well. Hope you are well mate, wondered how your health was, haven’t seen you at the Mem this season. I was hoping you meant Boro were watching Johnson (lee)

Did I see someone say we were relegated to the conference with a ‘decent squad’?! That group of individuals were the most inept, incompetent, unfit & worst excuse for footballers I have ever seen in my life. I can’t believe anyone who believes the above statement, even saw us play in that 2013/14 season. But two were good enough to get voted into the PFA team of the year. Mildenhall, Lockyer, O. Clarke, Parkes, Brown, McChrystal who I thought were decent + the two PFA players who I take to be Smith and O Toole

Might just turn a round and go back home, if Cogs announces he's starting Nichols and Clarke.
