Inevitably, this is fast escalating out of football chat. It's a shame these ideas are so misunderstood and felt as threatening. As the article says the football club provides a sense of community and place that is rare theses days. Where we live in diverse communities it's a pity for both the club and the community if people are missing out on that experience. We are a society made up of difference (disabilities/ gender/race/ religion etc) and a healthy society has spaces that everyone shares and mixes. So if certain groups aren't using those spaces it's worth asking why for no other reason than to make things better (not chastise anyone). Before talking about PC brigades ask yourself what's so wrong with that? I have a friend up North who takes 50 + young Asian kids to Bradford City every home game in his own time. It's about encouraging that community to value those places. They are now a welcome and familiar sight and have become supporters in their own right. Again, if you complain about people not integrating why would you have a problem with that? A great thing about supporting a real local football club is the connection it gives you to the place you are from or live in. I grew up in central Bristol and while I've always got this sense from supporting Rovers, the more mixed the crowd the more it feels like home. He'd need to take 5000 young Asian kids to represent the community though right? So why not take 50? Or 500?

What a load of utter rubbish, teachers go into to teaching to educate and are a mix of various political views and some are non political. What a pathetic slur on a whole profession and based on what? Wow, just look at your self, you are a product of the Lefty system. You need to do some home work young man and learn about real life. Maybe you are reading the Gaurdian ? I had to edit, after I had a look at the rubbish you ranted at the 'wrong person' , Jeremy is not really THE jc. I guess you haven't ever read the Guardian? It is arguablt the most unbiased newspaper around, they frequently have right-leaning columnists but ultimately their editors makes decisions based on what they believe is best for the country. Unlike the Mail/Sun/Telegraph etc etc who only report what is in the best interest of their billionaire owners.

The best you can hope for is that they are clear about their own politics as they are about the information they impart.

There's nothing racist - or indeed, PC - about seeing a situation and dealing with it. This is just recognising that there are less people of colour in a crowd then you would expect by comparing to the local population, and wondering why.
If I looked at the Mem crowd and noticed that there are less short people in it then I would expect, I'd also wonder why - is it because they can't see very well through a crowd? What could the club do about it, to make short people feel welcome?
Its all just making sure that the club isn't missing out on a potential additional group of fans.
The usual refrain of the PC brigade it's about equality. It could be about short or tall or fat people or why women earn the same at Wimbledon for 3/5 ths the work but it never is it? They always bang on about race and religion. Like a bunch of management consultants they'll make sure there us a 'problem' they can solve, and if that problems looks like going away and making them redundant they'll be making sure that racial and religious discrimination continues. f**king parasites. Simple solution if you think some group is under represented invite some along. Appreciate it offends some to actually do something about a problem rather just tell others to solve it Well I can't speak for other people, and I particularly can't speak for this 'PC brigade' I'm supposed to belong to. I didn't even know I was a member of this organisation, I must check my wallet for the membership card. Hope they aren't taking a fee.
And there I was thinking I'd come to an opinion through observation and exercise of conscious thought. Well there we go.

Whilst no one wanto segregation I think it important that all cultures are preserved. If going to watch the Gas is not akin to their culture so be it. The task of integration whilst maintaining cultures is not an easy one IMHO.
