Old gas, Knowall knows nothing, don’t get sucked in. He will eloquently skirt around all questions. He was so close to the last directors, that he was a close advisor to the boardroom making suggestions left right and centre. That goes contrary to how the last board operates. Apparently only 2 of the directors were paid and the rest are still waiting for their money. And yet when I asked one of the directors personally, BB, whether he had been paid in full, he said that he was paid when the deal with the ALQs went through. According to Knowall we should keep absolutely faith in the ALQs as apparently we will all be surprised at the ALQs grand plan. I knew some weeks before it was announced by hamer on the radio that we were no longer getting a CAT 2 academy but a couple of training pitches and a clubhouse, and yet I was batted down by Mr Knowall himself stating we should keep the faith at the grand masters plan. And low and behold, we are getting a couple of training pitches and a clubhouse. It comes as no surprise that 6 weeks after the ALQs appoint project managers to architect and plan the site we still have heard nothing...I was only asking yesterday about the plans and was told there is no plans so far...?? Now apparently I’m overly negative according to Knowall, but I like to work on a thing called evidence, verses what I am told. Now one person is telling me, there is no plans so far and we are getting a shrunken down version of a training pitch, so far so accurate. Knowall says prepare for the bright lights of our saviours and brace ourselves for the ride of evolution, and yet, we have nothing. In footballing terms Knowall is 2-0 down and has just had a man sent off, it’s also a rainy night and blowing a gale and he’s playing into the wind. You get my point. Well, what a surprise - just got back into the country to find you have been having another go at me gashead1981 I don't mind but please get your facts right - if you read through the threads 'BRFC Accounts 2015/6'' and 'Finances' you will see that It was I who said the Directors and some Preference shareholders had been repaid on takeover arguing with Severncider who was adamant his 'friend' NH had told him they had not. Threads in April and May 2017. (The reason for my certainty was because my good friend Geoff Dunford was there and it was he who told me). Incidentally - did you have a different avatar name then because you don't appear anywhere about that time??' As for my support for the Al-Qadi family and the Board - today's interview with Wael on the Rovers website is exactly what he told me in a private interview a while ago - and I accept there is no specific detail but that does not detract from the validity of what he is saying although you and my new found son 'oldgas' will no doubt disagree? I happen to believe Wael (and Steve Hamer too) but only time will tell which one of you and I is right - Wael has confirmed to me several times that he is here for the long term - I am as certain as anyone can be that he is telling the truth. I would suggest we leave this particular spat now as it is rather boring - and let time be the judge as it surely will be. I remember it differently, but I can't be bothered to argue the point either! Ive been here for a while as the same avatar, but I was a long time lurker and reader before posting. You could answer oldgas questions though. You seem to think that I disbelieve and question Wael on everything, I don't, I just mention the inconsistencies between owner and chairman, the concerns that are raised from the things our chairman has presented in interviews which reveal how precarious a situation the club could be in if Hani says no more money and ultimately, the amount of time to get plans B,C ad infinitum off the ground when you actually map out the timescales. Overall the ALQ's ownership has been mostly positive.

(as Ernie Wise put it) I am glad we agree on one thing - the Al-Qadi's involvement is positive. Onward and upward and in a few years time - who knows? what the Al-Qadi's will have achieved with the help of Hamer, Brookfield, Gorringe, Clarke and all the other merry men and women who are the positive members of the Rovers family. ,

I assume you are not implying that HN was not telling the truth when I spoke to him. How is the Presidents Club getting on these days. Have they made any recent donations to the football club?

Does it? No mention about home and away shirt sponsorship. No longer part of the draw. Would expect that Tom G has something decent lined up, Does Barry Bradshaw still own Snack Box ??

Does it? No mention about home and away shirt sponsorship. I assumed "we increased the number of benefits" would mean that the biggest incentive of the draw wouldn't be removed. It's a shame that the 1883 draw seemingly doesn't include the shirt sponsorship it was set up to finance and inevitably such a change will lead to less local businesses in the draw. Gorringe better have a good sponsorship deal lined up to justify such a move, possibly with a certain Jordanian bank?

Not sure we would need Tom Gorringe to do a deal with AJIB though

Not sure we would need Tom Gorringe to do a deal with AJIB though I don't actually think it's that bad of a move because it means Rovers will get the best of both worlds by having a local sponsorship draw that some local businesses will still participate in and also have a good sponsorship deal on top of that. Having Gorringe at the club doesn't necessarily mean that the al qadi's won't do a sponsorship deal but you'd of thought Gorringe would use his contacts to find a company elsewhere.

Time will tell if the chance of winning the shirt sponsor raffle was the main reason for most to enter in the first place.

Seeing that we have so many tents on display, perhaps Go Outdoors are sponsoring us?

Not really, its the same price as last year with no real big ticket prizes. The south west stand is the small tent which has no advantages to sponsorship because there is no TV coverage there. Same with the west stand its why there is little advertising across that stand to begin with. The training top sponsor is fairly low key and will get little or no exposure. So its all a bit meh in my opinion. Not sure I would enter and stick to my main advertisement board on the East stand.

But i guess the idea is to sell the club and priority aspects of the 1883 club, rather than a sponsorship draw with benefits to those that enter If we get a decent shirt sponsorship package anything the 1883 club generates is a bonus presumambly. If we were lucky enough to get to the championship anytime soon, i would have thought any shirt deal would surpass a finite no of draw entries in a raffle. At some point the club has to think ahead as good as the draw has been
