Since when did the likes of SAG have authority to deal with fan disorder issues, plus the chances of pitch invasions at the start of the season must be virtually non-existent. It seems SAG are effectively fining us by reducing the attendance by 100's. SAG are operating in conjunction with the local authorities, who raised their concerns over the disorder at our two last home games. So it’s not really advice we can ignore.

I suppose its better than a suspended points deduction or heavy fine. I posted a link a few weeks ago explaining FGR were offered terrace and South stand 1800. My guess is they will sell around 1200 meaning 500 plus seats avaliable in South stand to transfer fans. The same with Oxford they will bring 1200 tops
I noticed in 2016/ 17 season we had 6 games over 10000 plus ( wall 11900 Cov 11200 etc). So if we can get back to 10000 it will accommodate most game with the exception of a few.

I've never known SAG or similar impose attendance restrictions game by game in the past? It does seem a total over reaction given it is very unlikely to be repeated at the start of a new season.

Something fishy about this , Will this be happening across the leagues as our club weren’t the only ones to have this happen ( unless I’m wrong ) also , what will happen to season ticket holders , I won’t be too happy if I have to be moved to the south stand , anyone know ?

Why not properly punish the perpetrators rather than punish the vast majority who behave. Entering the field of play is a criminal offence (as far as I’m aware) so liaise with the authorities and hope the courts show some balls and dish out some severe punishments. We’ve seen what the Bristol Courts can do with rioters when they put their minds to it, they could clamp down on hooligans if they wanted to too. some of the invaders against FGR have been prosecuted. Plenty of fans across the country have in the past, but it doesn't seem to make much difference If weak punishments don’t work then the courts need to toughen up. A few months down the road in Horfield Prison may deter like minded assholes.

Fulham was one of the first, what's the betting their first Premiership game is a total sell out?

Time we ignore SAG like other clubs do. It’s effectively costing us money by reducing the capacity.

I agree with okebourne, something doesn't sound right, especially as no other club that encountered similar issues has announced this.
Everton had more than one pitch invasion last season, including a politically motivated publicised experience and not a squeak yet on that kind of news.....
EDIT: There appears to be an anti-Gas sentiment from this lot - quite literally - their acronym says it all!

So basically SAG has taken it upon themselves to impose this upon the club before any FA punishment? Seems very suspicious to me.
The club definitely need to explain this further.

Another point, how can restricting the north terrace capacity by a few hundred stop another pitch invasion anyway when it only takes 1 idiot?

Kind of crazy considering the first people on the pitch against Oxford & Scunny were match day staff and unused squad members who burst out of the tunnel like bats outta hell. Unless I’m mistaken, they shouldn’t be on the park either? Far from excusing those who jumped out of the Thatchers and family terrace OBVIOUSLY, but if you’re looking for where the encouragement came from, it’s right there.
Nice attempts to pour scorn on the greatest Gas day in my lifetime by the Fun feds at least, but I wouldn’t change a single detail.

The people that ran on the pitch after Billy’s goal are the ones that have caused this issue. As I said a few weeks back, against Daggers, we had more people packed in the ground and only 2 idiots ran on when Browner scored. So putting it down to overwhelming emotions is just nonsense. We controlled ourselves then so why couldn’t it be done again?
The club and A&S police should also shoulder some responsibility and should have expected something like what happened should we have gotten promoted.

I can't see the EFL can "crack down" on ground safety, which is the SAG area, nor SAG have any authority to penalise a football club for their fans behaviour.

Hmmmm, maybe. Can't read the article, but wouldn't that be a direction from EFL rather than SAG? (Whom I think are local authority as opposed to national outlet?).

But that still doesn't explain why SAG feel the need to reduce ground capacity. They are just a committee advising on ground safety, not an organisation who can issue fines etc.
