The people that ran on the pitch after Billy’s goal are the ones that have caused this issue. As I said a few weeks back, against Daggers, we had more people packed in the ground and only 2 idiots ran on when Browner scored. So putting it down to overwhelming emotions is just nonsense. We controlled ourselves then so why couldn’t it be done again? The club and A&S police should also shoulder some responsibility and should have expected something like what happened should we have gotten promoted. You reap what you sow. But that still doesn't explain why SAG feel the need to reduce ground capacity. They are just a committee advising on ground safety, not an organisation who can issue fines etc. Exactly. "They are non-statutory bodies and so do not have legal powers or responsibilities, and are not empowered to approve or prohibit events from taking place. Event organisers and others involved in the running of an event, retain the principal legal duties for ensuring public safety." www.hse.gov.uk/event-safety/safety-advisory-groups.htm

So we didn't actually have to do this then.

In order to have these sanctions lifted, the club is relying on all fans inside the stadium to abide by our regulations, with a particular focus on keeping the stairways clear.
Another area where fans think they can stand where they like!

The clue is in the name "advisory group" and this has nothing to do with Safety unless they reduce the capacity on an ongoing basis and then they have to explain why. Club should tell them to do one in my opinion as the capacity reductions already done by 2.5K are also OTT. Bottom line is not all the supporters went on the pitch and it is not like they have identified the idiots and moved them ..... Putting a few less in there does not mean they can't come on the pitch.

This is why a new modern stadium is needed now

Reduced capacity and ' The FA are yet to announce what Rovers' punishment is.' So worse is yet to come. Those arguing the unfairness of the punishment need to take a long, hard look at themselves if they were on the pitch. The club ultimately carries the can for their mindless actions and any points deduction could be crucial come the end of the season. The well publicised message is, and always has been, simple. Don't go on the pitch.

If this is how it’s going to be, that’s the last time we look back at Blackpool 1990 with joy and fondness then.

I’ve got an idea, maybe the club sold too many Thatchers End tickets for these fixtures and are just using this as an excuse to rectify the situation.

Kind of crazy considering the first people on the pitch against Oxford & Scunny were match day staff and unused squad members who burst out of the tunnel like bats outta hell. Unless I’m mistaken, they shouldn’t be on the park either? Far from excusing those who jumped out of the Thatchers and family terrace OBVIOUSLY, but if you’re looking for where the encouragement came from, it’s right there. Nice attempts to pour scorn on the greatest Gas day in my lifetime by the Fun feds at least, but I wouldn’t change a single detail. Totally agree. FGR were also first onto the pitch during the non-battle with the Tote End Crusaders, climbing up on the nets, etc. ... . So many look to point fingers at Gasheads, and then look away when others in the city congregate and openly fight with the police.

The morons that ran on to the pitch may regret their actions if the club have points reduction!

I doubt our insurers would be too impressed if we ignored their advice and then fans were injured. The simple thing seems to be for fans to keep the stairwells clear and also stay off the damn pitch.

Says it all, Avon and Somersets finest sticking the boot in after their failure to appear in the ground when the game was suddenly approaching an unbelievable climax. They were just sat around Horfield in their vans, happily taking their doubletime and the idiot in charge could not see the significance of us starting to score goals. That's quite clear as they did not appear until after the first invasion when we scored the seventh. They should have been in position when the fifth went in and perhaps the first invasion could have been prevented.

Although the real issue seems to be blocking stairwells anyway.

From memory, the reduction prior to last season was partly to keep the yellow box areas clear, i.e. stairway access. How can the A&S Constabulary be concerned about this, when they aren't even at the ground very often, and when they are, they sit in their vans. Seems like we've been stitched up to me.

The morons that ran on to the pitch may regret their actions if the club have points reduction! Don’t be such a wetty , we won’t get a points deduction, pretty much every club in the football pyramid with something to play for ran onto the pitch at some stage last season , not just us. Just to confirm , I wasn’t one of the twats that ran on during the game.

I did report months ago that EFL are cracking down on pitch invasions and there are EFL representatives on SAG, hopefully the short term capacity reduction we now have and a fine which i am sure we will get is all the punishment we receive. Thing is if the club had spent a bit more on the stadium over the past 26 years a capacity reduction of 300 could have had little or no effect. I am more concerned over the poor fans who may have to stand out in the open in the searing heat for over 90 minutes, if this hot weather is about at the end of the month, I went out for a half hour walk and it was nearly unbearable could not cope with that for 90 mins .

So the plot thickens again, it’s now only the FGR game that will face restrictions.
We definitely oversold the FGR game for the Thatchers End are now trying to save face.
