In fairness to Hartley he had clowns for company in goal, he also only played the first half of the season which included the team acclimatising to league one.
If DC has others lined up and knows Hartley will be well down the pecking order then fair enough + DC sees and knows and has a far better record than any of us!

What you are missing is sweeney had nearly a season playingredients for wimbleconomic before his move to Stoke so was already used to the blood and thunder of league 1 football whereason colkett and just didn't have that to fall back cominguarantee out of development football which is effectively youth football and it must have been a shock to their system to be roughed up game after game.both have a lot of natural ability that will gradually come through and maybe make a few of their critics on here choke on their words Yes exactly. How many times do we write off young talent due to experience? It takes time and investment Yeah, but they are another teams investment, not ours, we shouldn't be taking the hit for their mistakes if we aren't going to reap the benefits of their development. I'll be disappointed if we have untested players who will cost us points next season if they aren't our own players that we're bringing through.

Looking a bit dodgy for Mr Twentyman and the rest of the Radio Bristol Sports team then? Not really. This is how they make their money. The reason they do all their commentaries is because they can sell their online commentaries on to third parties for a good price. Anyone know anymore about these full match replays in with the UK package, I'd be tempted to watch them without knowing the score if that's going to be available.

I shan't be going.
No doubt those who go will moan when we're playing in restructured division six, each league consisting of 20 teams and with 88 premier league / premier league b teams and championship /championship b teams above us, personally I just can't wait for the day.

Newblue, Taylor, Easter and Lucas need replacing for a start, so that's your 3. We also had James, along with Gaffney and Harrison last season, so that was six. Can't understand why anyone would be surprised at us having five, especially as we're not starting with an established player who's scored 20+ in our team previously.

Some have wondered about Stuart Naylor's future now Mildenhall is coming in as keeper coach, from what DC says Naylor is at the core of his team, his core was DC, Stewie, Yates and Naylor; it sounds like Naylor is stepping up / has stepped up.

He's also confirmed he'd like to think he can get Sweeney back.
"Sweeney and Lumley are the calibre he's looking to get in."

All we have to do now is sit back and fill in the gaps!
DC has confirmed the 10 positions he's targeting on tonight's Having a Gas.
DC has three or four targets for each position, ranked one to three/four.
ROVERS SQUAD (DC contract offered) [DC targets]
GOALKEEPERS [Gk] [Gk]
DEFENDERS Lockyer Hartley Burn Partington Leadbitter Brown J Clarke (Kilgour) [LB] [LCB big and dominant]
MIDFIELDERS Lines O Clarke Sinclair Bodin Moore (Broom) [Defensive CM] [Attacking CM] [Left-sided player who comes inside on his right foot]
ATTACKERS (Harrison) (Gaffney) [CF that pays off shoulder] [CF that runs down the line] [CF that drops in the pocket]

Support isn't the big factor, it's a question of finance and being well run. There are teams in the football league with very small catchment areas and fan bases.

Can't afford to sell if we want to keep DC and go for the championship, unless, a big fee, £3m+ + big sell on clause, and it goes to DC for transfers. Even then it's far from ideal, if we start signing players for £500k they will require much higher wages. We should no longer be a selling club with Wael and Co. The other factor, however, is if the player wants to leave, not much you can do then except get the best deal.

Is Preston possibly being included in the fourteen? Who is Preston? Sorry Hodges!

I think (hope) it will be quality and not quantity. I look forward to seeing what Hartley is like with a decent goalkeeper behind him, the best in the world would of struggled with Roos and puddy behind them.

However, the quote about having 14 senior contracted players could be the 11 plus Gaffney, Harrison and J Clarke, but not Broom and Kilgour as their yet to become senior players?

But does DC want as big a squad as last season? Was the size due to the fact all players in the promotion squad got offered a contract?

It seems to me there's a bit of confusion, it might be me! I take it that the contracts offered to the likes of J Clarke, Gaffney, Harrison, Kilgour and Broom are included in this number, but I think others are expecting us to bring in a whole new teams worth of players. Which is right, is James Clarke the first of the 10/11?
We had 11 contracted players, we've offered 5 contracts to out of contract players, one of whom has signed and I'd assume the others all will too. No doubt DC would have Lumley and Sweeney back if he can and will be making approaches. That would be 7 signings.

Shamesburys profits down.
Like to think our boycotting adds a little to their pain, I'm well aware it's a drop in the ocean, but it still puts a smile on my face.

Agree, when time and money are at a premium then you can only go to so many games, if Rovers are doing well then I'll put myself out and make the sacrifice - rearrange work, "negotiate" family commitments. Call me a glory hunter if you like but I've been following rovers nearly thirty years and am always tuned in if I can't be there - and I can tell you there's been more pain than glory in that time!
You can't be a Rovers fans and be a glory hunter, that is, unless you also "support" one of those premier league businesses.
