When an individual can take a tank out at 2km from a shoulder launched weapon after barely a few days training then I think the tank has had its day . We're in a transition period a bit like the mighty battleships that became vulnerable in WW2 once the Japanese had taken out the Prince of Wales and Repulse. There are counter measures available such as APS and tactics will also play a major part, the death of the tank has long been written but is not upon us yet. Yatton - we have 227 officially and possibly a few more in storage, but only 148 will be modernised. During the 80s we had nearly 1,000 including those held in reserve. One of the main reasons the US has so many is to maintain jobs. We bought only what we wanted and then lost the ability to design and manufacture our own, that's why we had to get the Germans to help with the current modernisation plan. I've often wondered why the US has so many tanks. It's not like they're going to be invaded, and they certainly don't need anything like that number for their occasional forays into the Middle East and a few other places.

I'm beginning to think Jacob Rees-Mogg has been as damaging to the UK as Nigel F.
He's like Boris in his louche approach to life, but unlike BJ, he seems to actually believe the reactionary drivel he proposes.

Well, at the risk of sounding boring, and as Pirate has said, we need a statement from Wael about this. We are years away from a new stadium and the Mem is a joke. What if we got to the Championship and stayed there? How are we going to convert it to all seater? What will the capacity be reduced to if that happens? Are we going to upgrade the bars, bogs and burger stalls? Do we expect to continue adding more tents or something more substantial (if temporary)? Is the infrastructure going to continue to rust away or be fixed?
These questions (apart from all seater) apply regardless of promotion.
If we were a plc the shareholders would be disgruntled. They invest in the company and expect an annual report, not a wall of silence. The fans also invest and expectations are similar, I believe.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Well it might be, if all of the Fruit Market redevelopment documentation and press releases fail to mention, even in passing, the forthcoming stadium. Is it a secret or something? All the other facilities are discussed at length.

If such a scheme was set up I wonder if it could be set up as a charitable thing such that it gets all the tax relief on any donations. Ultimately we need Wael to speak on this and tell us what is happening. Even if it is nothing. I'm sure Wael is aware of this and the growing concerns of fans. Why he hasn't said anything at all for so long is a complete mystery. He was great at communications in the past. I can only think of three reasons: -he wants out; -he's selling a share of the club to others; -there is a stadium deal brewing. Otherwise there is no reason to alienate his paying customers by hunkering down in a bunker if nothing at all is going to happen.

It seems with cosy friendly interviews like this, Joe's rehabilitation process is almost complete. He comes across like a wizened wise old man these days, a sort of Gandalf of the great game, reminiscing wryly but respectfully about the silly things he used to do. It seems to have worked too, at least in the press, although sadly not with one single supporter, manager or official in the football world, outside of our club. Not totally true. A lot of Burnley and Newcastle fans have good words to say about Barton. OK, APART FROM Rovers, Burnley and Newcastle fans, who likes JB? No-one! As John Cleese might say.

I'm sure it could be handled fairly easily at Temple Meads. Home fans in the Wetherspoons side entrance, away in the main one. Segregate the walk to their different platforms and only allow one set of fans in the tunnel at a time based on train departures..it's not very dignified, but that's the fault of the aging thugs who can't grow up and act like normal human beings, not the authorities.
Anyway, it's all academic, because it ain't happening lads. © Yatton.

I wonder how we'll renegotiate a better deal?
Dear EU,
We have now left, as you know, although you don't seem too sad to see the back of us, which is a bit of a shock to some people here.
Anyway, our economy has tanked, your firms are pulling out of the UK like a mad cattle stampede, we are in recession, inflation is the highest for 40 years, we are broke, mad as hell and IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT.
We would like to revisit the Brexit deal so that you give us better terms and therefore more money.
Yours
The UK

Crawley Town have always been weirdly minted despite no interest in the club at all from the London overspill residents.

Barton sold us the Pizza Cup dream, and then put out a half arsed B-side. Like a vegan burger, it promised much but was ultimately a flop. EDIT So annoying when someone has already replied with a similar response. Even more annoying when it's better than yours.😖

I don't think Wael wants out. I do think he loves our club. I don't think there will be a Fruit Market stadium. I do think he's looking for outside investment. I don't think he can manage the challenge without help. I do think he has the best interests of the club at heart.
That's what I do and don't think.

Our EU cousins don't seem to be missing us very much. This is not what we were told. I thought we were so essential to EU trade that we could negotiate any deals we fancied, on our terms, and the likes of BMW were trembling in fear in case we didn't buy their cars and bought American or Chinese or something. Instead it appears the b@stards are relocating Mini EVs (EVs being the future) to China. How very dare they! Note to self : Don’t ever listen to Nobby again 😂 Apparently his Chinese Carp have asked to be sent home.
