Streakers.
I swear when I started going to football back in the mid to late nineties it happened a few times but not seen one for years down the Mem.

Who did we sell between 2010 and 2015? My mind has gone completely blank.

Ive always found being in close proximity to a football pitch is as good as any. You know, at the Mem or on the Downs.
Oh my sides.

Heading into the centre on Saturday to watch England - can anyone recommend anywhere good to watch it?
I've watched England in the Walkabout previously and that was decent enough. Anywhere better?

Really us a shame. I hate to see a player struggle to succeed at Rovers. I have to say though that too much faith in Matt Harrold and Scott McGleish is what took us down in my opinion. Too much faith in Scott McGleish, who left in 2012, took us down in 2014? Are you sure you mean Scott McGleish?

That's not true though is it? Nichols is a much better player than James. He worries me with his lack of strength but it is obvious there is a player in there. His control and technique are surely the best in the squad and he makes some really intelligent runs. I have faith in him personally. If allowed to have a run in the team without his own 'supporters' on his back then I believe he'll come good. I really have not seen a decent player in there at all. I also haven't seen supporters on his back. He gets support while he is playing. Oh, and he has had a run in the team. He did nothing with that opportunity. Has he had a run upfront? Do you think Sercombe would have done as well playing the majority of the season at left back?

It is but I also get where he’s coming from. The thing with Luke James last season was we could see he was very determined to do well and score for us too. His body language was that of a man who desperately wanted to get his career back on track and it showed in everything he did. Don’t see any of that on the pitch with Nichols , in the pre match warm up, during the match or in his interview. Taylor>James>Nichols. Diminishing returns. That's not true though is it? Nichols is a much better player than James. He worries me with his lack of strength but it is obvious there is a player in there. Only time will tell but £400k sounds like a bargain to me.Definitely think he'll go for more than that in the future. Unfortunately this isn't football manager and we don't have £400k to be throwing around, especially on a goalkeeper. We allegedly signed Nichols for £350k. I'm a fan of Nichols to be fair but I know who would have won us more points to date.

QPR wanted 400k for him. Wouldn’t make a decision about a loan so we had to move on. I prefer a permanent keeper above a loan one, not the end of the world. Only time will tell but £400k sounds like a bargain to me. Definitely think he'll go for more than that in the future.

Whilst Carayol would be an amazing signing for us I do question whether he’d take one look at the pitch and decide to forget it.

Once again Lee Brown is completely sold up the river by the lack of cover in front of him and yet he gets the blame. Re read my posts mate , yes he was let down by others ( like I posted earlier ) but his job is to defend, he didn't make a challenge , he continually backed off his man , gave him all the time in the world to think about where he was going to hit the ball , the bang ! Great finish. If brown puts a foot in or attempts to make a block the chances are , they don't score. This isn't a witch hunt , it's an opinion as I was stood right behind the goal. I'm not just referring to this incident. I remember one game last year when we played a narrow midfield and Brown was expected to cover the entire left side and when he was, obviously, caught out of position he got loads of stick. Thankfully we, unlike now, had the players to change the formation after about 25 minutes on that occasion. What do you suggest Brown does about the player on the outside of him? If he goes in to a challenge then the pass is simple, Brown is taken out of the game and they're in behind us and through on goal anyway. The problem for me is why he was so exposed in the first place, the answer as is the answer to almost all of our problems right now, is the completely unbalanced midfield.

I completely agree that Lumley is better than them both.
De Gea is too mind and we couldn't get him either.

I guess so but I bet most of the 1500 are still happy to shop in Sainsbury's too. What a belter Is it just abuse you’re contributing tonight? I remember my first beer too.

Bit over the top to suggest they should be banned. We made our arguments. 1500 were either ignorant or not bothered. They are all still Rovers fans. or support their team In reality all they’re supporting is another kick in the bollocks to the football league.

The thing i'd most want to hear is an update on the infrastructure.
We can only go so far with the current set-up, about as far as we have to be fair, and so this is so much more important than the short term playing side.

We've had a lot of success since Clarke has been in charge by being extremely flexible with our tactics, frequently switching formation several times in the course of a single game.
We have been a lot more rigid to 4-3-3 this season and when we have changed to a 4-4-2 we haven't had much success at all.
Why?
Our squad is extremely unbalanced. In the summer Clarke listed 10 players that he thought we needed. Within this list there was a defensive midfielder and a left winger. The failure to sign these players, for whatever reason, is why we don't have the players to change things up.
We completely lack not only the wide players for a 4-4-2 but also the central midfielders. Lines and Sercombe are both good players but neither are tacklers and Ollie Clarke has struggled a bit this season (although i'm not sure he's much of a tackler either).
I keep seeing criticism of 4-3-3 and comments like "it doesn't work" but what is the alternative with this squad?
My feeling is that 4-3-3 works when you have better players than the opposition but if they're inferior or even at a similar level then I think you can get overrun a bit. This is reflected in the inconsistent results.
We also massively lack leaders and haven't replaced any of the old guard. This is a whole other topic though and could easily warrant it's own thread!

Overwhelmed by people offering to help. Did not expect it at all.
I've PM'd Antonio but also thanks PaulPirate for the generous offer.
