I would have liked to be there to see them, it must have been fabulously rewarding for the players as well as the kids, however it may have resulted in my arrest! It's a great initiative and one that would certainly continue to embed the club in the community and ensure fans of the future.
Great work BRCT

I had beans on toast . Heinz Beanz (don't know when they changed from beans to Beanz, but very clever) on Richard bertinets very fine sourdough bread, toasted. I shall try a sausage roll at the Southend match. I had stopped buying food at the mem when it dawned on me that a Chicken curry pie was suitable for vegetarians!

It was a great game to watch and I very much enjoyed all but the result. I think all at Pompey , including the press, felt very relieved by the result and were impressed by the Gas. Lines sending off changed the game, but we had enough chances to win, and were it not for a couple of outstanding saves, we would have. Need a better keeper, the two we have simply did not do it last year and ain't going to this year. Would love Lumley back. I probably did not express the depth of my feeling strongly enough, for clarity; I would take Joanna Lumley in preference to our main 2 keepers, yet alone Joe Lumley!

How can you write off someone you've never seen play. I would like DC to sign both if it is us in for him too. It would be an hell of gamble to rely upon two ex Scotland Championship players plus Nichols to score goals this season! Shankland, Nichols and Payne sound like a very impressive law firm...………I would use them

Tagging a player in a tweet and slagging them off before they sign. I hate that sh**.
Just chill, and remember, opinions are like arseholes....we've all got one. lets hope we have a Payne in our arseholes - I think he would be a great signing.

small point .........lost 1-0 first game last year to a goal that wasn't at Charlton, lost 4-1 home against posh . Why did you have to let the truth get in the way of a good story!

God this is all so negative - last year we lost opening day 4-1. This year only 2-1 massive improvement . Loads of shots around (if not on) goal. We always lose the first game and so what if gaffers has scored two leagues down, and doige has scored in the second division, neither of them have scored a goal today in the first division. It's the fist game of the season and we lost 2-1 away - would have liked to win but didn't.
I guess we will get a striker in the next week, but I also assume DC has some confidence in who he has already. 16+ attempts can't be so. Ad, just a little more composure needed.
Well done for going to the end lads. We'll done DC for putting on a raft of really attacking substitutions, well done Tom Lockyer for your goal.

For Clarity - I don't care whether they were in the England squad or any other, I just want to know whether we have a world cup players who also played for Rovers. If Ronnie Mauge played for / was in the squad for Trinidad and Tobago in a world cup - that is good enough for me!

how many players, who have played in a world cup, have also played for Rovers.
a) they don't have to have been rovers players at the time - that would be a short list.
b) World cup squad is good enough.
c) Must be proper competition not qualifiers.
d) I don't know the answers.
e) if anyone has already posed this question - sorry, I have not been on forum for a couple of months.
Off the top of my head to start;
Alan Ball.
Nigel Martyn.
Ricky Lambert.

I don't want our ever reliable, loyal and excellent Lee to go. He should be hailed as DeBrowner he is so skilful.

I was with a foreign supplier and his young son yesterday. The 11 year old son was football mad and telling me his favourite teams (which included man city and utd) and all his favourite players. We were in a store and as the boy was talking I saw and Met the magnificent, promotion goal scoring, loyal, reliable and trustworthy Mr Lee Brown yesterday at Cribbs. I was delighted to be able to simply say thank you for his immense contribution to the club. We only had a brief conversation, I did not want to intrude on his time, but he seems to be very grounded and genuinely proud of the Rovers. If you are reading this Lee, thank you for taking the time; made my day yesterday. Far better than meeting Bale, Messi or Ronaldo.

Overwhelmed by people offering to help. Did not expect it at all. I've PM'd Antonio but also thanks PaulPirate for the generous offer. Damn it, you have given me advice to move and you are moving yourself. Is it really the moaner I was talking about in the other thread?

There is one old moaner, with a horrible estuary accent ( probably originates from Woolwich or similar) who stands on the in the Dri build and just comes out with awful crap. His voice just loud enough for 50- 60 people around him to hear. Moans at players and officials and delivers the most sh1tty calls like - ' ref, should have gone to spec savers'. He is probably only a minor irritant to others but I am now beginning to despise him, it getting to be a problem! I can see this being a problem if you have an allocated seat or whatever but if you're standing on a terrace and you're regularly next to people that annoy you then maybe stand somewhere else? Too simple? Far too simple.I have stood in the same spot for years and moving just ain't that easy. Don't come on here telling me what to do when I am moaning about moaners. You come on here with your advice - I bet you couldn't give advice to an empty net. Yeh Richard - 'should have gone to advice savers'. Even Ellis cold give better advise that you.
