Ref - Brett Huxtable. I have hated him since he came on to take over from the ref who was injured when huxtable was running the line. Conference season I think. We have seen him a few times over the last few seasons and I am certain that when they toss the coin to see which end the teams will start, he actually uses it to decide which team he is goung to help the most. Yesterday it must have fallen our way. And he runs funny. A most astute observation

You also have to look at what bodin did to score the second goal - he was pushed over when in control of the ball in a position from which he could fashion a goal. Stonewall penalty.

Penalty still looks soft to me, although we've had them given against us I suppose. The challenge for the sending off looked nasty from where I was in the ground yesterday, but looks pretty tame on the replay. Penalty might have looked soft until you watch Billy's second goal. He turned from having his back to goal in a similar position and scored. I think it was the right decision. I completely agree with the sending off, on the replay it look tame and from where I was in the crowd it looked more aggressive. The ref (who I will come on to) did consult with the Lino at some length though. The Lino had the best view. Ref - Brett Huxtable. I have hated him since he came on to take over from the ref who was injured when huxtable was running the line. Conference season I think. Just went on 'one team into bumming' it appears they have taken a vow of silence with regard Taylor. If any other player had missed a sitter like that they would have been vilified for it. They prefer to focus on Johnson being crap, Bryant not a left back and Tomlin not interested. They are right, all those are issues. On the highlights, after Taylor misses, we get a split second of his face and it looks to me like he is a man in big trouble - like an Ashton gate multi-story car park - it's sh1t on every level for him now.

Maybe he's been told some positive news about uwe cos no-one in their right mind who had any ambition would want to stay and manage us at the mem for the foreseeable future. I hope you are right about positive Uwe news but I have to disagree about the second bit. Would you rather manage at the mem, full most weeks with a really pupportive fan base and with the backing of a board, wealthy and interested enough to be in this for the long run. The alternative is that you go somewhere that has kicked out their manager for poor performances. A lovely new stadium like MK dons - not even a quarter full. Bristol city, good rebuilt stadium full of horrible people at every level except the away fans. Leeds - great club, great fans terrible history over the last 15 years with bonkers owner. Stoke, never enough money to get in top 6 so ambition is staying in premiership.........I could go on and on. UWE or no immediate UWE, in a fragile career, I think DC knows exactly where he is loved and can continue to prove and improve his management, pushing the Gas up the leagues in front of adoring and understanding fans, board and colleagues.

A month ago lincoln city should have been at the top of the championship based on the teams they had beaten, then they drew against York and lost to borham wood. Unfortunately this is football and sh1t happens. We are not good enough right now to go up, if we had made the playoffs it would have been fun, but we need another year building first. Chin up; It's been a great 2.5 years since the braintree tipping point.

No need to paint a bad picture of him. If you want an argument you can go Picasso. Enough of these silly painter jokes. Concentrate on Rovers stuff, for example did you know Matty Taylor is up for the Turner Prize.........boom, boom

I wonder what our break even figure is, (slightly lower now judas Taylor has gone) I seem to Rembrandt needing 8000 last season. I Rembrandt that too, we need 8000 to generate enough Monet to survive. Leave me alone with my spellcheck Gregory.

I only posted to say thank you and somehow it turned into a 1970's confectionary thread - bizarre but good.

It's not strictly football related but my wife and I just ran the Bath Half marathon, I was wearing the quarters and she was in a trading top. We just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who shouted Rovers and Gas encouragement. It meant a lot and it really does spur you on. If you are reading this, Sincerely - thank you so much.

It's all mind games. If anything Southend are under more pressure than us considering they are closer to the playoffs and have been in this league for the longer amount of time. more importantly, DC would probably have the intelligence to run round or climb over a brick wall. So there Orange Phil.

Yes! Well done Ollie, DC & BRFC. I have to say this once again shows the brilliant tactics of DC. He's locking in our best players well ahead of the summer transfer window to avoid the risk of them being poached by some unscrupulous championship clubs ;-) Let's hope he has the same thing planned for other crucial players we need to hold onto for next season like Billy, Monty, Danny, Sincs, Browner, Lockyer. UTG! Even it means offering improvements on existing contracts and removing any 'buy out' clauses if applicable as a trade off!! Not really convinced about Browner - sadly. firstly and most importantly - Absolutely delighted that the most improved player this year has signed an extension. Thank you Ollie. Cannot agree with you about Lee Brown; hardly missed a match for 4 years, has never had adequate cover until recently, gives 110% every match, and for at least 30 months was our best and most consistent player. He rarely misses a match through injury but we don't know whether he Plays through injuries. More importantly, I think the rest of the squad has improved to catch up with him, not that he is a poor player. Now he has competition and more opportunity to rest and recover, he will push on again.

We were in a steady decline for over a decade so as much as I'd like to think things are as bad for them as they were for us I just don't think they are to be honest. If they end up dropping out of the league in a few years then yes it will be just like us. Looking back we put up with so much crap football and decline that we really do deserve the great times that we're experiencing now. There's nothing like trudging about in p**s at Woking to make you realise that any club can fall very low if it's run as badly as our club was for so long. UTG. However 10 solid minutes of Betsy is a W4nker was exceptionally funny for the fans that did manage to get in. That conference year actually galvanised the fans and made us stronger, I am not sure others teams will experience the same if they dropped out of the league.

There were times watching him play last season where he would not go in for a header and definitely shirked tackles, I was worried that we just has a surging midfielder who was only good attacking. Toward the back end of last season a saw a change and this season he is transformed; Tracks back well, goes up and challenges for headers, gets stuck in when a tackle is the right option. He is a far more complete all rounder and I think he forms such a vital part of our spine. He would not be disgraced in the championship either - which will be handy.

I can't shake this gut feeling that we are going to create history and make it 3 in a row and replace city... The storyline is there - Our relegation and rise back up,our takeover,DC, Pantsdown millions spent and his ego with this bristol sport BS,Taylor's move, the 16 year old "gap"...etc I'm honestly putting £5 on a bristol double tomorrow by us swapping places. Better get on the phone to Hollywood and secure the film rights before it's too late! It would surely have to be a DC comics superhero film!
