I have not bothered to read the whole thread so forgive me if I am going over old ground. I support Bristol Rovers, it's never been an 'easy, ride, it's kind of like playing golf against pro,s when you don't even have a handicap. I would not have it any other way . Whilst I am a little disheartened that we have lost out on a great new stadium, I am so much happier than I was 3 years ago. Redevelopment of the mem; wonderful. We have a stadium that we can redevelop and an owner that wants to do so. A redeveloped stadium is not worse than a shiny new one, it's just different. I wonder how many Man U, Chelsea, Celtic, Rangers, fans are baying for a move? When city could not develop Ashton Vale what did they do? I have no intention of setting foot there but all my City mates love it.
Wael and his family have sunk their cash, effort and expertise into our club. They have tried to get UWE off the ground but been thwarted by the other party. In the meantime they have negotiated, bought and developed the Coloney. These are not signs of a man giving up, they are true commitments to building our club. We are Bristol Rovers, it's always been uphill, but the slope has been getting less steep recently. Surely we can embrace the good, forgive the man for not being able to deliver what we had been promised by people long gone, and get on supporting our fantastic, evolving, promising, exciting club. Whilst we are doing this we should be thanking our lucky stars we are not Hereford, Stockport or Darlington fans.

I like going to the mem. I hope they redevelop it and make it a better stadium. I suspect with a few million on some new stands they could get capacity up to 15 or 16000 and that would be quite adequate for the next few years. I like it, a suburban ground that the away fans will really enjoy coming to as well. Evolution not revolution is probably just what is required!

Yes I like it! I want Sir Ricky to sign. So I'm going for an L this week and by the the end of the month if he hasn't signed I can always have Lamb Chop. Just get Lambert on your shirt and if he doesn't sign you can grow a big mullet and pretend you are really into Highlander. Big news, they are trying to get cunnington back before the end of August!

It distils, for pretty much everyone, into two topics for which we long for information and good news; Stadium New players
They can't give information about either until they are done deals. 'There is many a slip betwixt cup and lip'.
Frustrating but something under this ownership and management that we have to accept, and I for one am happy to do so for a very long time.

Imagine how disconcerting it will be for all the other teams when they see our new formation of 2-4-4. DC is a genius - why did no one else ever think of playing 2 keepers. Now we don't need another striker, we can just score the odd goal and still win the league.

I thought the original Severside stadium plans hit the dust as there were concerns any chemical incident at the docks would endanger supporters lives at the stadium, have the docks changed so much that's no longer a danger? Perhaps this is all a cunning plan by Wael to force the UWE's hand at the death, he joins the forum as "thegasfc" then starts a load of random threads about players we should sign etc to cover his true identify, then suggests the club have found a plot of cheaper land at Avonmouth, I sense the UWE will have dropped their asking price by a few million by lunch time tomorrow or perhaps the al qadi family have bought the land for a luxury hotel resort that will make Avonmouth an a-list holiday destination.... And that will also impact on diretrampton, where I was raised. We still have property there........we are going to be rich, rich beyond our wildest dreams

Given that the club has just given DC a 5 year contract, I remain pretty confident that he knows what he is doing and they know what they are doing! I am going to remain calm and patient.

Great news!! Not changing the subject but does anyone else get a feeling that the ground will be going ahead now? DC wants to progress and without the new ground, he can't reach his intended goals. My thoughts exactly !! Yep, and mine. DC is progressive and ambitious but he also appears honourable. I don't think he would sign a 5 year contract if he thought he might leave or hat the club would not meet his aspirations. He HAS to be in the know!

how can Newport justify still having him on the books, he's a alcoholic and in constant trouble with the police. they must have no standards . Have you seen Newport? The whole town is like an episode of Jeremy Kyle. I did go there recently and I have to be honest, it was greatly improved. If you went in the 80's it was like an episode of Jeremy Corbyn!

Losing another experienced out-of-contract striker, yet gifting contract security to his mate Mansell in an unnecessary role, looks like dubious priorities. Time and results will tell. So you are questioning DC's integrity? Rather you than me. As for Mansell being his "mate", let's not forget DC had no previous experience alongside his "mate" Mansell at a club. His not mate, Easter he spent time at Hartlepool with.] I personally think Mansell will have a good coaching career, he screams the type to me to go into that. I'm not sure I could see Easter as a coach and his career will hardly be progressing at his age. Coach Driver might be a consideration!

In fairness to Hartley he had clowns for company in goal, he also only played the first half of the season which included the team acclimatising to league one. If DC has others lined up and knows Hartley will be well down the pecking order then fair enough + DC sees and knows and has a far better record than any of us! Begs the question why he signed him in the first place? He's been an odd ball signing, dominant in the opposition box but fairly useless in his own box, even Plymuff got promoted the season after he left, I'm surprised another Div 1 is prepared to sign him. I guess we signed him because we had not scored any goals throughout defence, other than Browner, and we rarely score from either corners or headers - he did both! I am not fussed whether he stays or goes but he did score some goals and so DC was eight in signing him.

City fans are obsessed with us. They're now commenting on a kid we've signed for the under 23s. No change then from the cousin touching mutants from down the road! Yes those plebs - no class. With our pull we can sign Rollin Menayese but they could only attract Spreadin Saladcreme

We were shocking that day.....as was Sercombe However they were players that finished above you this season They were also players that we did the double over last year. That oxford away match last season was my favourite. It was a good atmosphere and a good win, however I do think united had a real off day.
