I believe that, whilst looking for new signings, he is working very hard trying to keep the good ones we have. I do not envy him having to fend off greedy agents touting their (already contracted) players around for their own commissions!
The most important one to retain is DC and if he stays we will make progress. Wael is in this for the long term to build a sustainable club, he will back DC to a sustainable level. Let's just be patient - the final match of the season was only played yesterday!

Gaffney signing us as important as Bodin, O Clarke and Tom Lockyer. I seriously believe this will be Rory's season where he proves what a good footballer he is and he will score at least 15 goals, barring injury.

Now he apparently considering a move back to Ireland...........after all the nice things I said about him; if he does leave I shall consider him a talentless bog trotter. he's just signed... Ok now we have our man secured, for which I am delighted, I predict not less than 15 goals for the big man in 17/18, barring injury. Billy Bodin will at least match him.

When we signed Ricky Lambert he was pretty much an unknown journeyman. He turned into that wonderful specimen at Rovers. I am ready to be shot down in flames but I seriously think that Rory Gaffney will come good this coming season. He has undoubted skill, pace and a powerful physical presence, a bit like Lambert, but seemed woefully lacking in confidence last season. He misses Lambert deadball abilities, or needs to develop them. I hope does anyway. Budget

Just to lay down some truth: Wage budget is based on the current season, not as previously stated the previous season. this is to allow clubs who have significant investment or a large unexpected income (FA Cup run, Player sale)the flexibility to make changes. investment as donations count as the same income type as any other revenue (normally categorized as match-day, commercial, Broadcasting), so if DC wants a higher budget the AQs could inject money but that would be non refundable rather than the loans we have received so far (probably explains the meeting to discuss how much donation will be put in clubs can spend 60% of their turnover on player wages, everything else including staff wages are outside of that and does not count towards FFP or the "playing budget" Transfer spend also doesnt count (Partingtons fee didnt effect the "playing budget" only the final profit/loss in the accounts) Promotion to the championship removes the 60% limit and hikes the permitted losses to a mind blowing £13Million,elegation to league 2 reduces the % to 55% Sources: My knowledge and www.financialfairplay.co.uk/scmp.php , www.financialfairplay.co.uk/financial-fair-play-explained.phpWell reasoned and forcefully put, in keeping with that attractive profile pic.

One shed to another Hey mate what would you do if you were out and a bird shat on your head? I probably wouldn't go out with her again, but I still might.

Going to hold my hands up, I don't often back track but think I will now. Having watched Luke James in training yesterday, you can just see he isn't a natural striker at all and hasn't really learned the position, not making runs into the box or getting in the right positions, he seems too deep at times. I have backed him all the way, and he still has potential to be good in the future but with a heavy heart, I don't think we should sign him. Also every time Easter comes on for him in matches, his experience and composure over James is so telling. I will follow his career with interest though as I do like the bloke and his work rate has always been faultless. Maybe a season or 2 in the conference/league 2 is what he needs. Or to become a different type of footballer, one that does not require scoring goals to get on the team sheet, like sinclair, oh but he scores, err say a winger......we have 3 and they all score, errr what about if we can't sign lumley

Maybe SY had spotted some technical flaw with the Oldham backline which Ellis exploited... Or maybe he was taking the mickey out of him sbout not scoring for a while perhaps Yatesy was saying that he was more prolific lol Who knows it doesn't really matter, as fans we can't expect to know the ins and outs of everything that's going on. One things for sure we've got a great team spirit and most of our players give everything most of the time. That's the main thing. The real reason is that if you jumble up their initials you can make the word HYES, which is what everyone shouted when Ellis scored.......those guys are so, so clever.

Maybe to say thanks for not subbing him after playing absolutely dog Rubbish for 75mins. Luke James would kill for being sh** for 75 minutes and scoring a goal. Err correction......would kill for being sh** for a season and scoring a goal.

If we could keep our defensive and midfield squad, including current loan players, and add a striker,we could be motoring. I think Gaffney will come good next Season and if we retain the service of Billy in addition to a really proven striker, we are on for a good season. Regretfully I think Manse, Easter, James Clark, Ellis and Moore might be freed for unlocking some salary monies. What do I know though - nothing, if any go they deserve our thanks because, other than Luke James the striker who has taken a vow of striking chastity, they have been great servants to our club.i

I think Harris did very well and does provide real competition for Browner. I am afraid when Luke James was injured I thought for one awful moment that injury might prevent him going on to score, but then I remembered, he cannot score.

Vaughan Jones and Neil Slatter Agree - both. Slater went on to Oxford who were in the top flight I seem to remember. Did he become a Policeman after injury shortened his career? Browner - brilliant player and consistent week in, week out. I wish he would get more of the free kicks from positions in range, recon he would eclipse Mr Lines.

I am gutted to be away for the Millwall game, but if we win and make the playoffs then I get to see at least another two matches against sides we are not scared of. I hope we get there but if we don't - what a season!

So we aren't going to own it after all? We wouldn't own the freehold we would own a 125 year lease which is long enough to give security & certainty - I guess it's the other conditions of the lease that are key. It's a longer term than we have been in existence and even the youngest supporter today would be dead by the time the lease was up - with that in mind, I could just accept a lease!
