In my opinion the central defensive partnership should be Sweeney and Broadbent this would a paring of gentlemen both of whom have considerable substance, and well capable of sorting out ant rock and roll by the opponents. Forget that they are both left footed, in the clubs history we have on plenty of occasions had central defence partnerships where both defenders have been right footed.

"How in the hell did we win that"? Quite simply because Ryan Sweeny came off the bench, it was a huge blunder to not start with him. I thought his partnership at the back with Tom Broadbent was superb. All the subs played their part in turning the game our way.

Actually the young girls working there were arguing who should be the lifeguard whilst the Rovers players were using the swimming pool

Many first team players at Nuffields North Bristol today.
A couple of Lady Pensioners remarked to me how polite and well behaved they were.
We have a good bunch of lads playing for our club.

Not the best performance today but the Posh looked a good side - solid at the back, dynamic and inventive going forward. Johnny Burn when fit needs a run in the side, today only one defender (the big guy) gave an alpha male performance, the other defenders I felt lacked substance in the tackle. I personally prefer Rory up front because he brings other players into the game.

Anyone with any information on the capacity of the proposed new stadium at the Mem. I have heard talk that it is only 15,000 this is considerably less than the 18,500 planned for the Mem some years ago and much less than the starting figure 21500 quoted for the UWE.

Very good performance today - though the opposition will be much stronger on Saturday. Shame that it doesn't appear that Ryan Sweeny and Tom Broadbent can play in the same side.

I am not sure at questions regarding UWE need be asked of Wael - Funding was in place - deal need to be signed by UWE no later than 31st July - planning permission expiry date was looming. If UWE claim they had received no offer then they have a serious communication problem with their own legal team. I should also suggest the Rovers fans show the upmost respect to the AQ family after all they are preparing the investment of large sums of money in our club.

We have a strong squad but this is very likely one of the toughest matches of the season, I fear Charlton will get the win.

Wael and his family deserve massive respect, we in the UK need to understand that when foreign investors are prepared to financially back projects in our country then we in this country need to behave like gentlemen. The UWE ignored the deadline and did so with the planning expiry date looming, this is at the very least extremely rude and hardly ethical. I suggest that the UWE governors and their legal team undertake a course on business ethics and behaviours. On the footballing side under Wael's presidency DC appears to have put together the strongest squad Rovers have had, this century, even though I personally think we will struggle to get anything from todays game at Charlton.

The UWE behaved badly by not responding and indeed deliberately choosing to ignore a deadline after all the financing was set up to be in place, and with the expiry date for planning permission looming. As for the AQ family choosing to say nothing they have to be careful because they may still be subject to a confidentiality agreement. The UWE should apologise a least for their poor behaviour, deliberately ignoring your potential partner (at the eleventh hour) in a proposed deal is downright rude. If this country wishes to attract foreign investment then we British need to learn respectful behaviour in negotiations.

It would be nice gesture if the UWE (who up until now have not behaved like English Gentlemen with their delays and deliberate ignoring of deadlines) were to apologise to the Al-Qadi family.

I think some of the comments against the Rovers board and owners are too harsh. It seems all the money was in place to purchase the land but somehow dealing with the UWE proved impossible. The issue appears to relate to behaviours.

Not surprising that the Rovers Twitter Transfer site is closing, my guess is the club is looking to shut down leaks. Most trading firms look to control the narrative regarding their business, and the publicity created by leaks could inhibit further deals.

A very solid performance by the Rovers, Tom Nicholls took his goal superbly after being brilliantly set up by Rory. Tom Broadbent looks a very solid citizen no one is going to have an easy afternoon against him, I would not advise anyone to try and steal apples from his back garden. Also I think Rovers might struggle to keep hold of Ollie Clarke this season, he has developed into a cracking player. Both the new keepers looked excellent - and Adam Smith pulled off a couple of extraordinary saves in the second half.
