Only team 'oop North I can thin of looking for manager is Grimsby?
Seems very strange for this to come out now. Bit as mentioned probably means no money in Jan and possibly JCH off too...?

also on a side note away from the game today,
What's the standing in the League for a 3G pitch? If Bromley continue to do well and do get promoted, will they have to relay the pitch to grass? (Or like us woven grass?)

I thought we gave a good account ourselves over two matches. Probably deserved more but if you dont take your chances that's what happens. Lots more to play for for Bromley this year. We have a decent team and are building as a club and fanbase. Lots for us to be confident about going forward. After all we were playing 3 leagues lower with 300 supporters 15 years ago. Absolutely, good advert for the National league from yourselves. You played some nice football and with a little bit more quality will be a right handful. Play like that for the rest of the season and you'll be in the league. Very well done, good account for yourselves, apart from the stupid tw@t throwing a flare I thought your fans were good, some "interesting" and funny shouts coming through on the commentary! Very unlucky with the first half goal which should have stood, maybe if the whistle hadnt been blown we may have cleared it but it should never have been offside. Right call on the second though. I was impressed, you played well, good on the ball and created some chances. Clearly you are good on set pieces and that will stand you in good stead in the league. Good luck for the rest of the season, unfortunately for you the result didn't go your way and it'll go down as game to forget for the rest of us! We won, gritty performance, good defending, move on to the next one UTG

We scraped through that with an utterly pants performance. Bromley, if anyone is reading, you should have gotten a result there. The only positive was some excellent defending from Rovers, Rollin Menayese in particular deservedly getting MOTM Going forward though what happened? The midfield in particular was non existent, Sercombe was shocking I dont recall him playing anything to a man in a blue shirt! JCH saved the day yet again.

This has been a terrible performance. IF (big IF!) we make it through now it will definitely be one to forget! I don't recall us winning a header from the many many many times we've lumped it forward, or from a goal kick. Poor, very poor...

IMHO we strive to win every game and if at seasons end we find ourselves in the championship then so be it, we got there while at Twerton, so ground is not a barrier, it may be for one season but we would enjoy the ride ,just like a lot of teams have enjoyed there one season in the promised land of the premier league, can only be good for the club AS LONG AS FANS KEEP THERE FEET ON THE GROUND !! and do not start expecting to reach the promised land !!! Yes. Surely anyone would want us to go up? You can’t pick and chose when you gain promotion, you just do your best and hope you’re successful. You’re right rh, but one of the many things we’ve learnt about GC is his ability to organise a team into a unit that is hard to beat and have a solidity about them. Perhaps not the most exciting but he knows how to set up a team and most teams would hate coming to the Mem. And if we did go up then instead of the frustrating stuff lots have been talking about GC would be almost as popular as DC for taking us to the Championship and that would change the whole atmosphere. Isnt going to happen imo but nothing wrong with dreams! UTG! It's this all day for me, I'll be honest I've not warmed to GC yet, the years of success under DC and I still love the guy even after the bad 1/2 a season we had. There is something that I still have a problem with GC , I can't put my finger on it but I am slowly coming round. He's clearly got a passion to be a manager at this level and shows it in his interviews, but I still can't quite get his personality, something perhaps we were spoiled with DC as he wore his heart on his sleeves and told it like it is. I think GC needs a bit of media training and thought into what he says before spouting it out (like saying we were playing too expansive yet had zero shots on goal!) I know in my head exactly what GC is trying to do and wants to do with the team. How many clubs get promoted from L1 playing nice football with small technical players? Not many is the answer and that is why and where I thing DC was going wrong. The majority of teams to get out fo this division are based on strong physical players with pace. Not fancy namby pass it around types. This may sound a bit harsh as under DC we had Sinclair, Clarke and Lockyer (no nonsense type players) but clearly in his later reign we signed more technical players (Bennett, Sercombe, Rodman) who in their own right are good players, but in this league physicality and pace still count for everything. Look at the Trollope years albeit in league 2, but we went from Lambert & Walker up front with Haldane on the wing, Cambell & Disley winning the midfield, Igoe pulling the strings too. Strong players mentally & physically winning games (Lambert & Walker up front should have never worked as they had zero pace! but it did!) I feel GC is trying to build a strong physical team, not one that will be exciting to watch, but will out battle the majority of sides in this division. It's not going to be fun to watch but it comes down to the Pulis style of football that gets you out of this division (unless you have millions to spend on world class player, which we clearly dont) If this means we go up to the Championship then I say bring it on! The money involved with the jump up a division will only benefit the club. I still feel that the AQ's would deal with it accordingly and support the team albeit moderatley and sensibly. If this means we go down straight again so be it. But it could provide the building block we need to kick start the future of the club from mid-lower table obscurity in league 1 running up stupid debts. For the time being, look at GC's win ratios and games compared to DC's in the same division, and although I am one of the many that dont "feel" better off, we are in a better position under GC than DC. As much as I hate that sentence as DC will always be an utter legend for bringing the club back from non-league to L1 but the stats don't lie. Yes I don't get to many games any more, so I cant see what you are watching live, but statistically we are doing well and for the budget and resources we have we are punching above our weight at the moment. Enough rant and waffle from me, UTG and here's to hopefully a good season (as long as we keep JCH tied down!)

Listened to it this morning on my daily dog walk!
Very good as usual and some interesting discussions,
Peak Trollope team for me nips it, I think mainly down to the Lambert factor!

Gutted by this news after everything Darrell has done for this club. His last interview showed how much he cares, is frustrated by the running of the club and how he wears his heart on his sleeves. His recruitment this season was shocking though and the team just hasn't worked. It's a results business as they say so I could see this coming, with the outburst after the Donny game the writing was on the wall. Still disappointed that WAQ and the board have seemingly vanished from the face of the earth when things started going badly. Personally I would have allowed Clarke to attempt to sort out the playing side/squad in January with the premise that if it didn't work he was out, but that is football. As for next manager please NOT Cotterill! Cannot stand the guy and after his comments about us when he was at the Sh*t.... Realistic targets? Well Holloway will be up there with the bookies Paul Hurst? Lee Clark? Phil Brown? Kevin Nolan (Please no!)? Darren Ferguson? a certain Mr Buckle is looking for a job..... I'll get my coat Can't say I'm overly enamored with the list of "Available" managers, perhaps look to pinch someone from an up & coming club? Cowley brothers from Lincoln for example, not that we'd get them, but as an example. Inevitably though it'll be Stewart & Hargreaves until the end of the season.... If Lee Clark or Phil Brown come in then I'm not sure I'd use my season ticket again. I think a lot of people would be pretty p*ssed off with either of those too Just trying to point out that there aren't a lot of REALISTIC & decent options out there apart from Holloway & Hurst. Hurst might at least get Payne & Rodman playing....

I saw Rollin play against Cambridge this season. He was composed and looked like little phased him. Admittedly Cambridge had a shocking game and Swindle ran out easy winners (3-1). But everything that came his way he dealt with and showed an air of maturity above his age. I think he really could become a good signing for us if we were to keep him on. His game is still developing and he looked to play it simple from the back, but at league 2 level that is all you really need. To move in to league 1 he'll have to improve his vision and passing out from the back. If an opportunity to loan him out again to a similar level, it'll only improve him as a player. But keeping him at the club as a back up could also improve his overall game. Tough decision for DC but I hope he'll keep him as could be another gem plucked from lower leagues.

Being exiled away in Cambridge, I decided to join Helpline to support the club as I very very rarely make it to games.
I've been a member for about 4 years now,
Won £100 once, £50 about 3 times and £25 a couple of times too
My folks on the other hand have won the top £500 holiday voucher twice!.... Jammy gets.

Went there for The Bruce Springsteen concert last year
Went for "Official" parking, which was literally 20 second walk from the ground, you could almost touch it!
Stupidly expensive (£20!) and at the end of the concert they blocked us in and kept the car park closed for an hour and half! We had to sit and wait for the other car parks to empty before they would let us out
So, i doubt there will be 40,000 there as per the Boss gig, but dont park right next to the ground in official parking, its a rip off and takes forever to get out...!

Good sentiments there from the Bolton fans
It still amazes me where we have come from....
From myself admittedly saying some pretty in-disciplined comments on Twitter to the board when we got relegated to the conference to now being disappointed with a draw at high flying ex-premier league Bolton.
DC has built something here that we have not seen since the LL & PT days. Although now i think we are better than ever.
PT & LL did a cracking job and only when they were seperated did we see the limitations of PT on his own
DC is far and above what those guys did combined and has built HIS team with his MENTALITY. As the saying goes, we've got our rovers back!
This season now seems to be a consolidation in LG1, a comfortable finish will be a fantastic achievement. Whilst some might feel we can and should be pushing for playoffs, i for one will be happy to build on what we have for next season and push for a top 3 finish. (yes i know 3rd isnt automatic)
The defensive signings were a stroke of genius, Sweeney has been revelation and i do hope we see him next season. Lumley looks like the answer we have been searching for since, dare i say it, Steve Phillips. Cant discredit Mildenhall or even Puddy as they have done themselves proud, but I think we can all admit we haven't had a decent consistent goalie for a long while. (Andy Collett eat your heart out!)
This post is already far too long so i'll finish with a thank you Wael and team, thank you for letting DC have free reign and not being silly with money and finally here's hoping to 6 points in next seasons derby matches! ;-) #UTG
