Banned for speaking the truth He is well aware of the rules and would know there are other ways of venting. There is no excuse for acting in such a manner and especially after already being sent off.

So he won't be on the touchline for the first 3 games of the season. Well done Joey! Cue our customary slow start to the season...

Its not an "ordinary" touchline ban, is a ground ban. Looks like Joey can have a belated holiday for the first 3 games of the season lol.

He's not the first, and won't be the last. I wish I'd had the balls to truly speak my mind to the higher management at work - I think that it would have helped my mental health immensley.

With all the technology at their disposal I can't see it being a massive issue.
From the refereeing decisions I've see down the Mem I'd be banned too 😂

Watching the League Two play-off game reminded me that the standard was even worse down there - if that's possible!

He should be aware of the rules. Likewise, the linesman should know the rules and apply them correctly. He didn’t and got no punishment. There should be some leniency towards managers when their offence has been triggered by a complete and evidenced injustice caused by an official’s incompetence.

Will be interesting to see the report and what is alleged to have happened. There is passion, and there is over stepping the mark. One thing getting worked up on the touchline, but I don't think you can go into the officials room after the game, after you have been sent off and start haranguing them (if that's what happened. Barton has admitted being abusive).

I remember hearing a manager on the radio (maybe Sean Dyche), saying how many letters of apology he had received from the referee's association that season, regarding incorrect decisions - it was into double figures.

But then where does it stop Tilly ? I think i can talk, in general that most of us dislike VAR but if we did go down this route then i can only see more and more electronic aids coming into play. I don’t have the answer but it’s slippery slope.

I agree, and even then we all have to accept mistakes will sometimes be made. I know it's not practical, but would like to see a pundit referee or run the line at a decent level game and have them come back and say how easy it was

Happy to give JB a pass on this one ..... Surprised it hasn't happened before given the pathetic match officials we have had for some games this season.
Sheff Weds wasn't great but not the worst by far .... The officiating against Portsmouth both Home and Away stretched the limits where incompetence crosses over to negligence and beyond to cheating.
JB will watch on IFollow or similar with an open line to AM - nothing will get missed.
