Good shout re Carlisle and Gills new owner spending and rumoured after JCH. “Irene” I mean a bargain based on the £800k 3 months ago, he price has halved and they will take £400k I bet. Hasn’t McCann or whatever his name is recently claim they’d turned down multiple bids and the highest of those was 450k ? Yep, apparently turned down £450k from Charlton. Gillingham allegedly interested??!!

No offence Rich, but you always are.The country could melt into the sea and you'd make out it was a positive. 😆 That made me smile. It’s just the way I am. Be positive and hope for the best. In life, I’ve bounced back more times than a weeble. Love you Rich, cone on GGMI feel the love x

It's good to hear I suppose.
But it the club have set themselves up now.
The stadium plans for the rest of the ground will give a good indication on how serious of comment that was.
You don't just get to the Premiership by luck, club needs to be ticking in all aspects.

Discussed this elsewhere, I’d rather invest any money on a younger player . It might be just words ( what else could it be?) , but it’s a stated aim to reach at least the championship and it adds a bit of self imposed pressure. He didn’t need to do that . Every single owner we’ve had has said they want to get Rovers to the champ. At least this one wants to get us to the Premier League 😊

Oh ffs - why do they do it? That’s just the cue for more p*sstaking from the Sh*t now . . . People in glass houses and all that, at least he said he thought it was possible rather than saying we'd be playing in Europe in 5 years. The amount Pants Down has watered away at the Bristol Sport Men's football division 1982 to be in exactly the same place as they were when he started is hilarious.

The new owner could hardly say no!

How many of us would prefer to be in Bristol Sports 1982 Ltd position, all under 1 company no history and an owner who's more interested in the Rugby, I don't mean the league because of course we like to be in the Championship but the rest of it, I know I wouldn't

I'd even settle for being a yo-yo club between League 1 and Championship. How much fun is it supporting a team in no real danger of relegation or unlikely to break through the glass ceiling of regular play off contention?

And this is why we will never be anything with this attitude, our fans love us being underachievers and rag bag. I saw Sincs score the winner at Luton what 8 years ago? I’ve seen us win at Dean Court, the Withdean, saw Paul Tait score the winner at the Vetch on Boxing Day! It’s this type of talk which is why we are where we are, I honestly think (not you Stuart) but as a bigger club, we have one of the worst mindset fans in the country. They’d have rioted down Ashton Gate for weeks if they went into the National League, we just accepted. We are now accepting a Carlisle east stand, all of a sudden he’s a hero now it’s taken 4 months to do an interview with ITV, of course he’s going to say the right things?! £800k on the table 3 months ago, Gorringe got the blame when everyone at the club knows the son pulled the plug and now we might be doing a little bit of business, I ask would Ashton Gate accept this?!?! *For the record Stu, I’ve made statement like us being a Yeovil for one season would be good, truth is, look at them now, Donny, Wycombe struggling, it’s no base for a future.

What an absolute lemon of an interviewer. The owner says "we have big plans", the only question needed is "great, what are they?" Thing is that the interviewer doesn’t really give a f**k and has no idea who his audience are. Just another passer by on his way to whatever he wants to be but won’t get very far because he doesn’t actually ‘get’ the job he’s meant to be doing now!

Your right our red friends would have rioted for weeks….. for what though….. they would still be in the Confrence….a bit like a toddler having a tantrum. Our crowds actually increased which helped with the loss of revenue from the EFL. I can remember City playing in front of a couple of thousand at their lowest point. ….deserted the sinking ship and crawled back later “ City till I die init “ Of all the ones I knew only a couple kept on going week in week out….one of which tried to sell me his TV to pay for a mid week away trip to some northern slum town. Respect to him… although it may not have been his TV. Anyway so you believe if we were less accepting we would be more successful…… lm struggling a bit with that.

Poor interview and a PR disaster.
My Mrs worked in PR. There's a strict rule. Never answer leading questions, never answer open questions and only answer direction question with the minimum amount of information.
HAS fell right into the interviewers trap here.
"BR have never been in the PL can you take them there?"
The reply should have been:
That would be a dream wouldn't it? Is it achievable? Well who knows? Let's try and get to the championship first and we're making plans on how to get there and be sustainable there first.
That interview came across as it's January, there isn't going to be much movement, we're not putting money into this year, let's smooth the cat and make the fans feel all gooey about us to placate the lack of action.
I could be reading it wrong, but that's exactly how it came across to me.

Don't you think it's a bit odd we were going to pay £800K and £4k wages for JCH in the summer but now there's seemingly no money to buy any players in January? This has all happened on the new owners watch not Wael's. I think it's a bit odd the club had close to £1 million to spend on one player and If and its a big IF they don't spend some of it in January it gives a odd preception. The club drew attention to itself by this eye-watering bid and it will feel strange if we sign a rookie on free or loan. Questions will be asked what happened to this money ?. Why the u-turn ?. Will it continue or was it a one off ?. Let's wait and see what happens We may never know the real truth but I reckon the money was never actually there as such. Maybe Barton was going to personally fund it to get around FFP and the new owners could not risk that. Who knows?

But you haven’t answered the question what was you expecting from our new owners in these short few months? I don’t know where your logic is coming from 🤷♂️ Just because we’ve had carrots dangled before that these guys are going to be exactly the same. So what should they have done by now get your trust and for you to think you can’t trust them? I was expecting nothing and we’ve got nothing other than Barton getting sacked and Taylor getting appointed. Nothing earth shattering and I’m not expecting anything earth shattering! The stand being built is progress but on the flip side the Fruit Market is in the bin. It’s easy to criticise our owners but when you’ve got hundreds of millions to pile in to a club knowing that you probably won’t get a return on your investment and only then you’ll really be in a justified position to criticise them based on what they’ve done since Higgs. Higgs was a disaster and since then we’ve had two majority share holders and I think they’re both very similar in that they’re taking the club forward slowly without taking any chances on getting things drastically wrong and potentially destroying us like Higgs nearly did. Unless you’ve got billions like Lansdown to just throw at our club and hope that if you throw enough sh** at a wall then sooner or later some of it might stick ?

Hardly ! 😂 I don’t think he was set up by the interviewer, I don’t think his reply was that far of what your preferred reply was either. He said it was unlikely to be a quick thing but that was the ultimate goal. Now if he had said , the championship is our aim and being honest I don’t think we can go higher…. That would have been a PR disaster. We all hear things differently but it came across to me as the first owner in my lifetime that genuinely wants to take this club higher. Not just a promotion to the promised land ( championship) but to get there and keep pushing for more . To really grow the club on and off the field. Whether he’ll be successful or not is a different matter!
