Well, that’s got Al Saeed Jnr’s fingerprints all over it then, hasn’t it . . . I think the son is trying to be overly clever and thinks this is a game of championship manager. I don't believe for one second that the JCH deal was purely down to a deadline extension issue. Something went badly wrong on our side for it to be a complete and utter shambles that even Peterborough chairman said that from their side it was done. Now we have Conteh. He has a release clause which means we pay the release clause and activate negotiations. That's how release clauses work. We have submitted 2 bids. Why? The only reason why is because the son has tried to be clever and low ball Grimsby. If that's the case, how stupid can you be? It appears this total rookie to life and business has no idea on how to deal with proper businessmen and is setting about destroying a reputation that Bristol Rovers are not a good club to do transfer business with. Football club owners are seasoned businessmen not market traders and it's an about time he sharpened his pencil. Now we have the Martin contract saga. Why didn't we give him a 12 month contract in Sept? We had already missed out on JCH and burned that bridge. They were never doing business with us. Marquis isn't the answer so why allow this situation to happen? That's 3 contracts in 4 months he's managed to make a total cats arse of. What the hell is he playing at? Not having a HOR is costing us big time and if Abdullatif doesn't give his head the massive wobble he clearly needs to give himself, he will push this club into a relegation fight. Your first sentence echos what I was told by a poster on here two months ago by private message. Was worried then even more so now, especially considering this totally botched transfer window.

It’s not just transfers. As 81 says there’s contractors not being paid. The facilities at the new south stand were a joke last night. Food outlet closed as no way of making payment. New toilets with barely visible signs on them and no soap or paper towels to wash and dry your hands. No coffee as there was no hot water. The milk in my coffee at the Blackpool game was off and absolutely rancid. These are just the basics. Then you have the state of the recruitment department and the ever shrinking number of staff causing people to take on the work of 3 people. It’s early days but the signs aren’t good.

I wish what you told wasn't true, but it likely was. My situation has been going on for months. It's not a life changing amount of money I'm owed and I can cope without it, but it's not the point. It's about accountability, being honourable and running the club properly. So far, I've seen and heard too many things which give me massive concerns and this latest 2 debacles with Martin and Conteh just highlight that someone or the new owners are either out of their depth or just plain don't know what they are doing. Whatever it is, they need to have some humility about the situation and get a grip of it all very quick because it won't just be this fan vilifying them, they'll have 10k or so doing it and we'll be right in the 💩.

Who owns the stadium and training facilities now? Also, signing Martin is a no-brainer, pay him what he wants for 18 months, we will not be able to sign a proven goalscorer as good as him now or in the summer, those types of players have no interest in coming to a club like ours / this part of the country.

We agreed a 1 year deal with Martin in September, the owners son stopped it and said only 3 months.

ProMotion gone, why sign Martin to get into top half? Exeter playing kids last night. No doubt they will sell them on for a few mil soon, need to start seeing big picture. Give Greenslade a go scored a few with loan team this year.

I am a straightforward chap with absolutely no agenda and can give praise or criticism in equal measure when its due. I have no business in being a blue tinter or a dooms day poster. What I am hearing from people in the football industry about how we handled ourselves in the JCH saga, how we are handling ourselves in the Conteh drama and what I am hearing from people, honest hardworking people that the club use is very worrying. Worrying from the point of view that if you gave Abullatif Al Saeed 20 barrells of beer and said organsie a beer up, he'd refuse to buy the beer glasses or forget.

Don’t remember anyone complaining at the time we were given an old unfit striker with no pre season a long term deal. A striker that scored 4 goals in 10 starts +6 apps as sub for a relegation threatened QPR, the unfit old striker that has played in the champ all of his career and played 30+ games a season every year. That kind of old unfit striker? Hes played more this season than Rossiter has his whole career. Blimey. Chris Martin is a goal scorer, always has been and was always going to be extremely competent at this level and we could have given him 12 months at the start of the season or extended it in October/November when it was as obvious as the blue sky that he was 10 times the option of Marquis.

if Martin goes i'm not going to be upset, looking at the negatives;
I wouldn't want him to lead the line next season, even having him as backup/around the squad would be a expensive luxury.
hes 35 and has rarely scored double figures throughout his career. I get the feeling this is a purple patch and once the goals dry up, he'll just be a less mobile Marquis
he'll be on a tidy sum.
if we aint even going to try and do anything else this season, give a younger player the opportunity.
Looks like we'll miss his goals but short term pain could lead to longer term gain

Give Greenslade a go scored a few with loan team this year. Amazing that all through the age groups Greenslade considered one of the best Strikers in South west not just in his age Group but the year above. Sonny Cox (who is the same age ) considered not quite as good through all the age groups as Greenslade and have similar Goal scoring Records in National League South. Sonny Cox given an opportunity at the start of the Year and scores the Winner against us. Greenslade although Back full time with the first team squad is waiting for a loan move but nobody at the club to deal with it! And nobody at the Club to give him an opportunity....YET!

We agreed a 1 year deal with Martin in September, the owners son stopped it and said only 3 months. If true good. Why would we give out a 1 year deal to someone that is 35 and was unfit! If he had picked up an injury, like a lot of players do in that situation. You and others would have been moaning about the board giving it a one year deal to someone not playing. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. It's funny how you seem to know everything after. But are not speaking up at the time??

Fail to sign Chris Martin or a suitable alternative and we will end up getting relegated.

This has happened with several players of theirs. They loan them out to just get minutes and then stick them in the side.
