This isn't a knee jerk reaction bit something we have struggled with for years, including last season in the Conference where a lack of goals and the ability to create chances ultimately cost us the title.
We could have the best strikers in the world and they wouldn't score as they are being provided with nothing from midfield.
Now it would appear that DC has learnt nothing from the last time he managed at this level. Goals win games. The strikers we have will score if you give them the opportunities.
The tone of the game was set after 20 secs today. Lines first pass went straight to an opponent. The next pass saw Parkes put it straight into the crowd.
But what has baffled me was his post match interview saying that we need to take our chances. What chances. Apart from Lines free kick and Parkes free header what did we create.
We have so far beaten three very poor sides in Luton, Yeovil and Barnet.
It isn't a striker we need and how much we arr missing Monkhouse is quite staggering

I'm not worried yet but I agree with you about the strikers - the ones we have would score goals given the chances, but they just aren't getting any at all.
I like the 3-5-2 formation, but am not convinced it works without Leadbitter's threat down the right hand side. No one else we have in the squad can provide it and it's leaving us pretty toothless out wide.
But then we barely have any wingers to play 4-4-2.

We are desperately missing Leadbitter. I said at the time if there is one player I wouldn't wanted to get injured it was him.
On the other hand, this is the first time we have played badly since the first game of the season so am not going to be too harsh on the lads. I will however expect a reaction next week. At the moment though I will not get too negative. Just a very bad day at the office.

Said it in the Wellie before the first game of the season and nothing I have seen since will convince me otherwise. "Until we play with a big awkward number nine up front we will get nowhere in this league". Nothing DC says will convince me otherwise.

Yep an awkward elbows type geezer up front would add some physicality which is missing in the 3 games I've seen so far. Disagree that we were crap at LO, big harsh.

With such diminutive strikers our attacking options are very limited. We have no one to latch on to high balls and Bliss isn't the answer.Sinclair was up front first half to-day??Big re think needed-soon!!!!!

Remember how last season started? Plenty of knee jerk reactions. And that team that missed out on the title and couldn't score lost 2 games in 30 something, and were scoring plenty by the end of it. We don't need to be flying through the leagues. Chill out and enjoy having DC as a manager instead of one of the many where we might freefall under players that don't give a sh**

How can anybody post we don't need to worry unless they don't actually Rovers at the Mem, apart from Barnet we've created virtually zero chances in 3 of the 4 home games, apart from a couple of Lines free kicks and Parkes headers?

You seemed to have forgotten the countless games we failed to kill teams off in. Now we are in L2 with the same squad less a couple of players and have failed to strengthen. What isnt contestable however is that our midfield has created diddly squat. Opposition such as Accrington today and Northampton have made us look very ordinary. Once we went behind we upped the tempo. Why didnt we do it earlier.

Too early for worrying. Too early for promotion talk. Not too early to line up 'told you so's'
So there.

And you can't expect full backs like Lee Brown to be deadly wingers . We have nothing out wide ( with Leadbetter injured) to create for our forwards. And with DL injured it just shows we have little depth in our squad as DC obviously sees what we see with Montano. Worrying times indeed - 3 home defeats and only goals in one of four home played so far. Away from home you can see that we will be difficult to beat and will pick up points BUT it is putting pressure on us to keep it going.

Two weeks on and nothing seems to have changed.
The whole set up is wrong and if we play any deeper we'd be parking the bus whilst on the attack.
At what point will people realize that we create nothing and we need a creative midfielder to work with Stuart Sinclair as the work horse in Midfield

Don't always agree with Joe but he has it spot on in his first two sentences. One of the joys of football is that what suits one person does not suit another whether that be Personnel,Team selection or the way they play!!

Actually, we put about 15-20 crosses into the box yesterday from wide positions. However they were only contested by 2 strikers at most with our midfield nowhere to be seen as they were too deep. We had 2 set pieces on the right in the second half and Darrell was screaming at Lines to leave them to someone else and get himself in the box. For some reason Chris Lines does not like getting in the box for aerial chances, unless anybody can remember a single time he did this yesterday?

Chris Lines couldn't head a bus queue! Or come to that, couldn't tackle a fish supper!!!
He can however make surging runs at the opposition - preferably starting in their half of the pitch!

Perhaps if we had a decent CF like Pompey's we wouldn't have to worry about Lines being the next Alan Shearer?
