What we all really want to know Mr Chairman is what's happening with UWE and you know it so can you give us an update on that please!

Snap thought it was quite lame - was hoping for a more dynamic message of optimism that they are still trying to resolve the issues with UWE to be able move that project forward. Dont forget that this was the man that told us the landing lights were on / landing wheels down or whatever seemingly months ago

An update to reassure things are still on track. Obviously things are still toing & froing between the two sides. Patience.

Until everything is signed sealed & delivered what did you expect? An update to reassure things are still on track. As others have stated on here (following the pm from Wael on twitter), maybe things re UWE aren't on track at all. But until alternative options are in place, the board probably don't want to tell us this as everyone will be in panic mode. UTG!

Interesting that he says we will build state of the art training facilities as that is what potential players expect. I wonder how much the project will cost? Fleetwood's Training ground cost 7m...

After reading that message, two things came to mind. Obviously the glaring omission of a stadium update, or even reference to the stadium - which is a bit like the Chancellor forgetting to mention taxation in the budget.
Secondly, if I were DC I'd be a little peeved at his remarks about performances on the pitch. Fair enough, before Coventry there were some poor performances and results, but if this is the Chairman's end of year review I'd have expected him to say overall, after 2 promotions and limited investment in new players, DC's been not far off a miracle worker and deserving of some praise!

Hahahaha. As predicted on the "Why no chairman's message?" thread: the chairman gives a message and people start to pee their pants because it doesn't say what they want it to.
Lesson number 1 in being a grown up: things don't just happen because it's what you want. Father Christmas came and left you your presents now be good boys and stop stamping your feet and poking out your tongues.

Why would DC object to these comments if both him & Wael were aiming for a top 6 spot this season? There have been good moments and disappointing ones; however, over the past couple of seasons we have always risen to the challenge of the second half of the season and performed admirably, pushing ourselves into contention at the right time of the year. Let’s hope it’s the case again this season. Overall, in the 10 months since the acquisition of the Club, progress has been very favourable, both on and off the field. Read more at www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/festive-message-from-the-chairman-3488754.aspx#zjkJ8oDci4xelBOV.99UWE wise the lack of any reference is plainly odd, have talks completely stalled as failing which he'd surely say talks are still ongoing? Is the UWE stadium scheme now effectively dead hence why the Director in charge of the project and the Wembley guy have disappeared?

Interesting that he says we will build state of the art training facilities as that is what potential players expect. I wonder how much the project will cost? Fleetwood's Training ground cost 7m... But will it attract them if they know they've got to play at the Mem on match days? Is spending £1m at Almondsbury just a smokescreen to cover up the fact we're not spending £50m+ on a new ground? UWE wise the lack of any reference is plainly odd, have talks completely stalled as failing which he'd surely say talks are still ongoing if they were, what's happened to the feasibility report? Is the UWE stadium scheme now effectively dead hence why the Director in charge of the project and the Wembley guy have disappeared?

You mean 'people' are wondering why no mention of the biggest (supposedly) ongoing project in the club's history in a rare chairman's report, and you actually called it??

I agree with the fact that probably the two most important people behind the project does indicate that the UWE has hit the buffers However on the bright side we are on the way to having great training facilities whilst we search for an alternative I just hope we sort it out soon
