I guess if he's considered to be good enough to be Rotherham's No 1, assuming that's the intention, we've missed out on a top 3/top 6 goalie, although there's plenty of experienced goalies around, unlike 20 goals a season strikers. not sure on this, I was pretty underwhelmed with the potential of getting Dawson but accepted that it would be decent, just because he's signed for Rotherham doesnt make him a top 6 goalie, they like us are just as capable of signing dud players How does Dawson’s CV suggest he is a dud player? Pretty baffling take, looked a very promising signing and a shame we’ve missed out!

Looks a good player but if he is replacing Evans he’s got a tough job on his hands. IMO Evans is one of the best players in league one. But hopefully with the Evans money we can get this guy plus a striker and a winger that can impact now and sell for a profit in the future. That’s the game of sustainable improvement. Exactly this. As sad as it can be to see our best players leave, as long as we do reinvest in potential then it’s the best way to go. Builds a more balanced team ultimately with more sell on potential. Conteh was a great signing imo and fits this mould. I hope we continue to go this route… Hutchinson fits it too. I’d be really impressed with that business.

Yep, so similar I'd be amazed if he isn't a replacement.

Not sure if there are still any Saddler fans reading this thread? If so, what's your opinion of Hutchinson? One of your fans on X said his stats don't reflect his performances. They said in most games he makes no impact and you don't even notice he's on the pitch. He goes on to say that he'll be glad to get rid of him because you need better for such an important position. Any truth in that? I see he won the fans player of the year award so I assume it's not an opinion shared by all of you. Sounds like he's a bit upset at losing one of their best players 😭

Why, when there appears little chance he'll start the season as our No 1? It seems very likely that he'll be sent out on loan until at least January, as sitting on the bench isn't going to help develop his game.. Who? Ward isn’t being sent out on loan. He’ll be a joint no1 with a more experienced keeper or sold for £1m plus. No point sending him to league 2 now. I believe Taylor wants a bigger keeper than Ward, has always had them in his previous sides. I expect this guy to be #1, not Ward.

Barnsley trying to beat us to Taylor Moore If you believe EFL Hub These accounts just make up a lot and hope some sticks. Given the article from Bristol Live said Barnsley had held an interest, I'm betting they've taken a punt on a late interest now it's reported as done. I see their game! Not concerned.

I’m actually pretty happy with this one. Seems an obvious one. Good age, versatile, at a time in his career where it really is time to step up. Seems a solid signing with little risk tbh.

Cant be arsed to read the whole thread but on the juicy gossip of the behaviour at the awards evening, a group of us went to the awards evening after the L2 promotion so interesting to compare the comments.
The "scouse mafia" as we are calling them were pretty vocal at their table that time, and throwing banter about non stop / taking the water loudly.
Perhaps considering a load of lads on the lash with their teammates as "wanting out" might be a bit much of a jump..

Has anyone nerdy done a price comparison of season tickets across our league and below? I'd be interested to see how our pricing brackets etc compare now moving forward.

"I never post on here", 2544 posts say differently? "Create a thread on here", then. If that's the most important bit of my post, I mean thread.

I never post on here, but felt inclined to do so because I'm finding myself baffled by some of the stuff that I read from Gasheads lately.
The narrative from fans on social media and this forum paints a picture of a club in complete disarray, at risk of going bust, with owners that compare similarly to Readings that are bleeding out the club.
And for sure, in games this season, I've left disappointed. We could be doing better in the league and are missing an opportunity, with that I agree and am frustrated.
But there's a level of hysteria which I can't seem to understand. We are 12th in the league. Slap bang mid-table. In League One. From my lifetime of supporting Rovers (I'm 30), I am struggling to comprehend why that position would cause any level of concern from fans.
It's certainly not where I want to see us in the future, but when considering the last five years.. I'm pretty pleased to be there!
At times this season we have shown real promise that we can compete at the top end of this league. But we have been inconsistent, injury ridden, and clearly have to become more resolute at the back.
Frustrating when considering our ambitions of getting to the Championship, sure. But people talk about the club like it's in the worst shape of its life.
Yet I see a new training ground undergoing consistent improvement, significant investment in the playing squad, our first new stand ("temporary" or not) that I can remember.
It genuinely seems to me that we are a club moving in the right direction. The likes of Grimsby fans must look at us taking their star man with extreme jealousy.
Things have not been perfect at the club, clearly there are many areas of improvement both on and off the pitch. But compared to what I can remember over the last 30 years.. it hasn't been better!
Is there anyone else that is actually feeling pretty positive about the way we are going?!

I think we have got an excellent fee here for a player that wasn’t going to have an impact moving forward. Excellent, let’s reinvest it though!

Posh haven't played jch because he isn't part of their plans. Hence the poor goal return. If 9 goals is poor hate to know what 3 is?! JCH has 6 goals in 18 league matches, just 13 starts. The 🐐 is still in business, fascinated to see where he ends up.
