Always thought the student accommodation plan was a great one - just a shame re timing and choosing the wrong provider ( Opal?) who I believe went bust
Still a massive need for more student accommodation in Bristol so would love to see this revisited.

Good to see that the official site has updated the first team squad photos. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/teams/first-team/But disappointing to see how few players are sponsored. Sure we used to have the vast majority sponsored for both their home and away kits. Don't remember seeing any marketing this season to encourage sponsorship or maybe I missed it?

On the subject of signing injury prone players, it is extraordinary to remember that in the 73/74 promotion season we had 8 players with over 40 appearances (including 4 ever presents) and 3 with over 30.
How on earth was that achieved?
Especially when you think how bad the pitches were in general.

Yep , 7 or 8 in a row i think 🤔 I just had a look, as I was at most of these games, it was 6 in a row in the league , but we played Notts county twice in the cup during this run. Fulham a Bury h Cardiff h Northampton a Wigan a Chester h And weren’t we one down in all of them? I was convinced the same would happen when we went one down to Tranmere at Wembley. Still blame Vic Callow for the penalty he should have given. Not that I bear grudges for decades of course.

Much as I liked Gerry F mark 1 and Don Megson, and indeed others, the DC promotion back into the League gets him my all-time favourite vote. We might still be in that league, playing Oxford City (no disrespect to them) but for DC. Rovers 3 City 0 , then Blackpool away. The best times as a Gashead EVER . Nobody can argue with this. Certainly not arguing with that! With GF after the Blackpool game and possibly Robin Perry from the Post Attachments:

Well like him or not Brookeman got things spot on today. When asked to score Pace, Physicality and Leadership today out of five. He without hesitation said 2,2 and 1! Wilson is another Max Ehmer, doesn’t really want to here, the later left for money and loved the Gills and Wilson left for a 2 year deal nearer to Newport. I mention this re his non existent leadership Cannot believe what a poor leader Wilson is - certainly ranks alongside the appalling Max Ehmer. Body language is shocking. Thought it interesting today that 90% of pass outs from Jed Ward were to Crama and then Baggott. Surely the captain should be leading by example and taking some responsibility? An embarrassing performance today. Hopefully won’t be here next season though I know he has another year on his contract.

Again shouldn’t the Fan Directors be doing this?

Sounds like Vale might appear but probably from the bench.
Would play Hoole at RB with Hunt and Grant in the centre of midfield with Thomas and Sinclair wide.

A lot has already been posted about prices, so I won't go there for long. However, I recall not that long ago there being categories for U11, 12-18,18-21,Adult and over 65 as well as the family saver, all of which seemed perfectly sensible to me. I took advantage of the family saver and my 2 lads are now adult season ticket holders, a little proof of the scheme working, so glad to see that back. I want to put a slight counter point to the matter of heavily discounted child season tickets. Once a season ticket is sold, that space is gone on match day, so if the ticket holder doesn't turn up, there is a space left unfilled. If child season tickets were heavily discounted then I'm sure there will be many (not all) who would get one on a just in case / we'll go the the big games only basis. That doesn't help the club. What will help, and will encourage younger supporters is incentives like quid a kid / free program / burger / signed player pic etc and the club should communicate that this will continue going forward. As the capacity increases, so does the ability to offer greater discounts on tickets. As has been posted, we're in a so so season, and still doing fairly well on attendance figures. Add to that, if we want a decent squad with minimal loans we (will) have to pay decent wages without significant TV money or sponsorship. Good points raised here re cheap seats for kids and questioning of how often they would be actually used. Don’t our ‘friends’ at BS3 have a bit of an issue with lots of seats not actually being taken up? Still think we need to do something re cheaper terrace tickets for kids.

I suppose another issue to throw into the mix is that this is the start of a transition to an all seater stadium as the Mem is redeveloped. I agree entirely that the club should be attracting new supporters of all ages but particularly children. In addition different ways of financing the purchase of S/T’s should always be available. Perhaps there should also be a scheme where if you have purchased S/T’s continuously over a long period then you would be rewarded with a significant discount. Another possibility is to offer a certain number of S/T’s for children at a very competitive and attractive price. It could not be open ended because we do not have a large enough capacity. In spite of all the issues raised I think we will sale more S/T’s because of the South Stand. 6 of us have renewed in the South Stand today. 3 of us renewed this morning. Transfer from Thatchers end to South Stand. Last season £199, this time £249. Fifty quid extra to sit down. Happy days. Same here - bargain!

I wonder if anyone at the club will be reading these pages? Will there be a realisation they’ve made a massive mistake and misread the fanbase? Surely this is where the Fan Directors come into their own - or am I being naive? They, if they still exist, must raise these issues with whoever is making these decisions and raise all the legitimate concerns raised. If they do and are not listened to then what is the point of their role?

That is pretty impressive Board at Brighton. Would love to see some names and experience like that at Rovers. What do you mean , we got Tommy G from them ! And look at their current CEO compared to ours: www.brightonandhovealbion.com/news/1245354

Just wondering, do other clubs share their in-depth business plans with supporters? I have no idea how these things usually work. Firstly, no one is asking for in-depth plans. Just a brief statement about how they see us achieving championship status. Loads of clubs do share their vision. Brentford, P'boro, Oxford are just 3 clubs that have come to my mind whereby they communicated how they were going to progress. DMAC takes it one step further and does a monthly podcast and is fully transparent with goings on at the club. For example, take a look at our board of directors. Who is in charge of what? What daily responsibilities do they carry? What is their background? Who do they answer to in the overall structure? Are they able to communicate any improvements directly to us or the SC? Does anyone have any idea what Abdullatif or Tom does now? What about Wael, does he have any input? Who is Abdulaziz Alroomi? Who does he do? Who is Khaled Alkandari? What does he do. Look at Brighton www.brightonandhovealbion.com/club/club/whos-whoYou cant just assume on face value we are going to get to the champ because Hussain has said it’s a goal. It’s no different to me saying I am going to buy Bristol Rovers in 3 years. With no plan or means of execution it’s just words. That is pretty impressive Board at Brighton. Would love to see some names and experience like that at Rovers.

You bunch of lightweights I remember the toilets at Twerton Now they were proper third world UTG The ones at the back of the Tote End weren’t exactly state of the art but at least they were open to the elements iirc so had the benefit of some fresh air.

Posted the below on the rebuild for next season thread but it’s relevant to last night. This is bloke who has had a career, just come off a promotion in front of 15,000 every week and doesn’t really want to do it anymore. We need hungry captains all over the pitch, he ends it with “we have to keep on trying and see where we are” not re play offs, anything, just see where we are! He doesn’t hurt enough, he can’t stay fit either, I ask everyone to compare him to Tony Craig at the end of his career for us. x.com/official_brfc/status/1755010780150296758?s=48&t=bhN6HOKs1kzYSj3KfeKg9QThought that was a shocking interview. The most uninspiring since the one from the awful Max Ehmer. Certainly doesn’t come across as a strong leader. How I wish for another Tony Craig. .
