Transfer window shuts tomorrow at midnight, right? Or is that incorrect?
Hope we can sign a CM before it shuts anyhow, as without Sinclair we are desperately lacking in that area.

He's transfer listed. Scored twice in 13 games this season

Southend fans rate him - possibly fell out with Phil Brown - wouldn't be the first. Check the link below, forget the Northampton rumour, it's old news. Seems like he is an all-action midfielder who is a good passer of the ball and carries a goal threat. www.shrimperzone.com/vb/showthread.php?84204-Conor-Clifford

Was very highly rated a season or two ago - wasn't aware that the bloke was at Southend.
Judging by their forum, seems like a player who breaks up the play effectively. Also seems like a lot of them are bemused that he's being allowed to leave.
Would take him here - either on loan or permanently.

Terrific signing on paper. Another one that Chelski poached as a teenager.

Led to believe its 60/40 at the moment. And only a 55% chance of that.

There is an interest there as Phil Brown has told the Southend Echo.
Decent midfielder - would be a great signing

Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke will attempt to increase his central midfield options by securing a deal for Southend United midfielder Conor Clifford ahead of the transfer deadline tomorrow.
Clarke is already without knee-injury victim Ollie Clarke for at least a fortnight and has been dealt a further blow after a scan late last week revealed that Stuart Sinclair has suffered a hairline fracture in his foot and will be out of action for up to a month.
As a result, Clarke has been feverishly working on a deal to bolster his squad and will try and complete the signing of out-of-favour Roots Hall midfielder Clifford before the January transfer window closes at 11pm on Monday night.
The midfielder was transfer-listed by Southend United boss Phil Brown earlier this month and is available on a free, but it is believed that Clarke is looking to do a loan deal for the former Chelsea trainee and 12-capped Republic of Ireland Under21 international.
Clifford has scored two goals in 13 appearances for Southend this season, but has not featured in the first-team since a 2-1 defeat at home to Tranmere Rovers on November 22.

I hope this comes off. We need to dominate the midfield more.

hmmm. good and bad then. good that it is clear that Southend are happy for him to leave, and the player has got used to the idea, but bad in that they won't really want a Loan deal so much. I just hope we don;t get held to the old 'last day of the transfer window' ransom.

I hope this comes off. We need to dominate the midfield more. I thought we needed a creative MF'er? maybe we can get a box to box, dominant, creative, goal scoring, tough tackler who leaps like salmon and is as fit as a flea? oh, and has a great attitude, is teatotal, is a Rovers fan, lives nearby with his Stepford wife, and is very, very cheap.

If true then a brilliant signing. Won't be getting my hopes up though
