I just watched the BBC Sports video of the Aguero goal that won City the title in 2012 when a certain JB was sent off. I don’t care about how his actions influenced the outcome but I’m not sure that I can forgive him for wearing that kit! 😂 12B8A1C8-1A49-466D-9046-6BC15A429126.webp (19.04 KB)

Would Burnley risk him with the court case next month? I know we did but Burnley are a lot more high profile Excuse me! Are Burnley trending all around the world at the moment? I think not. 😉

That’s one less relegation place to worry about next season then. 😂

Some decent away games to look forward too, probably all be on a Tuesday night knowing our luck! …are you suggesting that the EFL and the “bigger” clubs will conspire against JB and attempt to reduce our awesome away support in order to gain an unfair advantage at their home fixtures? 😉

Fair play to this lad whom captured and edited the goals very well... Things to observe: 6.01 EA goal....from this angle, you can see how accurate and brilliant his strike actually is. 7.37 AE from this angle, amazing curling, dipping assist that is almost impossible to predict and defend against. Also, if the away end holds 4.5k, it looks like we had more than half... Fair play, a great day and result. The club’s match report says that the away attendance was 2222, so almost half and as JB said in his post match review “that’s a Premier League following”. UTG.

BJ posting has already cheered me up. In fact I’m taking it as a sign, along with a rare astrological kite formation involving lucky Jupiter plus my first ever match was a 1-0 win over Tranmere. What with that and the Scouse contingent being on home soil I reckon that the three points are in the bag before the boys step onto the pitch. Destiny is all!

I always thought it was metal. God I'm thick. To be fair the etymology of mettle is derived from metal. This because 'mettle' relates to toughness, and metals are tough materials. Well it’s a shame that Metallica didn’t realise that metallica is the feminine form of the adjective. 😂

Genuinely, no idea what you’re going on about! 😂 1-0 Gas, Collins with a goal in the second half! I’ve clearly thought about it for too long and pitched it at the wrong level haven’t I, as Baggins’ Hugo/knob gag thread proves. I reckon young Billy Elliot with the one goal, just to taunt the Picts on the other side of Hadrian’s wall. There, I’ve gone and done it again!

Is it anywhere near the Posh Totties Tea Rooms? (Edit: So it’s in Bradworthy not Holsworthy - at least they’ve blurred out his face to avoid embarrassment, lol. 😂)

Well I’m glad that I kept faith with the lads last week. Whilst we are on the subject of faith, I had no idea that Archbishops were allowed to curse people but that doesn’t appear to have been a problem for old Gavin Dunbar, Archbishop of Glasgow, who, in 1525, was so vexed by the lawlessness of the border reivers that he unleashed a whopping 1069 word vitriolic diatribe upon them.
According to a Carlisle city councillor Jim Tootle the curse was still active in the 2000’s and responsible for a goal famine the football team were experiencing, so he proposed that a stone monument with the words of the curse engraved upon it should be removed in order to lift it. What a nutter! I bet he doesn’t like lasagne either and probably prefers a twenty inch long hot sausage, but then he does live in the old county of Cumberland.
Which reminds me, after we‘ve laid siege to the Carlisle goal (they’re used to it as the most besieged place in the UK) and taken the lead, don’t be surprised if they unleash the hounds and mount a counter raid, or “hot trod”, whilst carrying a piece of burning turf on a spear. Apparently it is their right under border law provided that it is enacted within six days, however in our time at Brunton Park I fully expect us to come away with the three points leaving them nothing to brag about except Lord Melvyn. UTG

The trouble is that we use oil for so much more than energy. Apart from lubricants, pastics derived from petroleum products are in electronics, textiles, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, everyday household products, etc, etc. Our comfortable lives would literally grind to a halt and fall apart so we currently still need it. The responsible answer is to find sustainable alternatives and more effectively recycle what we already have but that will take time with the former and need greater political commitment for the later. I’m quite sure that future generations will look back on ours with incredulity at our profligacy.
