Well you are all a bunch of lily-livered so and sos for not having the balls to start a Matchday thread. Was Edward the Elder, King of Wessex, so aâfeared in 921 when he faced down the Danes in North Ham Tune? No. Were the inhabitants lifted from their doom and gloom when one of their own, Bauhaus, sang Bela Lugosiâs dead? No. Are the Gas on a roll? Yes. Can we do this? The team and the boss believe; so do I (and Rich, obviously đ). 3rd place here we come. UTG

âŚ.what, as in ScaraMangan?! A young trainee with the surname Scaramanga turned up at my last place of work, and in conversation he alleged that his grandfather was in the same class at school as Ian Fleming and two other boys called Goldfinger and Blofeld. He always used to have lots of nik nacks with him too. đ

Given recent results, the hype surrounding this match and that the sun is out, what do you reckon the attendance will be today? I think we will break the 9K barrier for the first time in ages which will tip the balance in our favour. UTG.

My YouTube feed decided to show me the Brighton 2 Rovers 8 footage this morning. A coincidence? I think not; itâs a sign! đ

Fair enough. I can agree with that. It was the âgentâ comment that I didnât. đ UTG! Yeah, maybe the use of the word gent was wrong of me. I'm just happy we are playing decent football again, will accept there will be some bumps in the road but we are definitely heading in the right direction. We may lose some key players in the summer but Joey does seem to have an eye for a player, and he hasn't got many wrong. 32.1 win % as well now. I'm glad Wael stood by him after last year. I suspect that it is also the case that JB has access to better players because of who he is and the contacts he has which makes having an eye for a good player that bit easier. They also seem to be willing to come here and play for him personally when previously we hear, allegedly, that some consider Bristol to be a footballing backwater and not good for their careers. I doubt that the likes of Evans, Taylor and young Elliot would be gracing the Mem pitch this season under any of the previous incumbents. Maybe WAQ could see for himself that was one of our weaknesses and that the appointment of JB was a strategic one as much as a performance based decision.

Sharing is caring. Maybe we could have 12A and he can have 12B! đ

Saw a interesting article up here in Leicester about the building of the King Power stadium. I always assumed that getting a stadium built would take years, even after planning. However, the stadium here was announced in November 2000, was under construction in Spring 2001 and all ready for the 2002/3 season. Theyâre now looking to expand while weâre still playing in front of tents. Having lived in a few other cities over the years, why does it seem to be Bristol that everything moves at a snailâs pace ⌠if anything happens at all?! The Tents would be more appropriate if we staged jousting tournaments. The last time I saw a jousting tournament in Bristol was in 1973 on the Downs as part of the Bristol 600 celebrations. Maybe we could stage a âtiltâ next year to mark 650 years, although if the performances next season are anything like the current offering then perhaps a melee would be more appropriate!

The last thing we needs a is a 4th manager in 2 years. Every other day there is another thread about JBs future here. We need to stabilise as a club, we have been sliding downwards as a club on the pitch the moment GC left. We are in league 2 now, we are despite results beginning to look like a decent side with some bottle again and not a side that rolls over. I don't think we are in any danger of going down. I am beginning to feel connected to the side, I see the effort that hasn't been there. JB has had 1 window to find a group of player and like us can no doubt see where the holes I the squad are. In January and summer he will have chance to sort that. Stable and joey Barton donât belong in the same sentence. âŚunless you add in the baby Jesus and an ass! đ

I'd like a very high TV gantry that offers a spectacular view of the City centre and the suspension bridge that cuts off any view of AG just to P?!s that lot off. âŚlike a crowâs nest!

The other side of Temple Meads is also an island, isn't it? The OP was just talking about St Phillips Marsh, which itself isn't an island. The distance between Totterdown Basin and the New Cut is less than a hundred metres which means that St. Philipâs is approximately 99% surrounded by water and makes it the ideal place to build a fortressâŚexcept itâs on marsh land, which, Ur, makes us the marsh Arabs!

Those who haven't passed-on will eventually be seeing the new stadium clutching Zimmer-frames!! Is that what the FSF mean by safe standing?

A tiny village football club who wonât be able to cope if they ever get into league 1. They really shouldnât let these sorts of farmersâs pub teams into the football league if they canât cope with what comes with it. Maybe there should be a voting system for who is allowed to join the football league whereby the bigger established clubs could protect their own interests. Just a suggestion. đ

I hope JB listened to Twenty Pence interviewing the Mellon this week as he gave a good insight into the background, recruitment and levels of expectation on the Wirral. In some ways they are very like us and he was also very confident that his team knew exactly how to neutralise our threats. So, I also see it as a tight game but Iâm hoping that there is enough belief in the twelfth man to spur the team on as itâs inevitable that there will be some nail biting moments.

The good thing is fans are mentioning things like this on here and others are contacting TG to make sure they get promoted/advertised. The bad thing is why no one at the FC seems to be proactive and get things mentioned in advance (or as soon as they find out about them) ie season ticket fiasco/holocaust comments/SC disagreements etc. It is much worse to let things fester. I hope TG learns this from experience. Saying that God knows what else is hiding in the woodwork! Woodworm?

It doesn't matter if Barton is here or not, same group of players, not a bad period with form etc for a new gaffer to take over and plenty out of work who could get the same minimum and hopefully better out of this squad. Really don't think Barton matters, it's not him crossing the white line Youâve described the perfect set of circumstances for Ollie to return! đŁ đ
