The chances are though that the big clubs up there will loan them players and also pay their wages, so it won't actually cost Bury very much at all. Aren't you only allowed to play 5 loan players at a time though? Even if that does happen, Bury will still need to find some players from somewhere. Yep. Very true but if they can get maybe 7-8 youngsters in and rotate any 5 of them, it will show Boltons excuse of 'player burn out' to be pathetic and if they can persuade a few just about retired players to help them out for expenses only - they might just be able to put out a team.
The whole thing is a total farce though and them and Bolton should be awarded enough deductions to ensure they get relegated.

Good idea that although how do you distribute the points? Giving the opponents 3 points unfairly disadvantages others and declaring the game void means that the teams drawn to play Bury early on were disadvantaged as they have 3 less points to play for. Letting them fulfil their fixtures is the only workable solution that is fair to everyone unfortunately. I think they should have a transfer embargo til the end of the season and a wage cap so they can’t just go out and get the best freebies they can find. They’ll have to work with conference level players and below to fit around the salary cap etc. Same should got for Bolton. Give them help to complete their fixtures but nothing more than that. Turning the postponements into losses would question the integrity of the competition but equally letting Bury and Bolton play those postponements would damage the competition as it sends a signal to owners of other clubs that even if you run the club into the ground, as long as you postpone your fixtures and find a takeover within a certain amount of time, the consequences for doing so will be fairly minimal. In Bury's case, there is just over a week to go till the end of the transfer window, they have no players and any budget they do have will be limited due to the fact they are one of the leagues smallest clubs and are still in a fair amount of financial trouble due to the CVA agreement. Bolton have a slim chance of staying up if they arrange something in the next 3-4 days but Bury staying up in these conditions would be nothing short of a footballing miracle. The chances are though that the big clubs up there will loan them players and also pay their wages, so it won't actually cost Bury very much at all.

This doesn't sit right at all. Bolton were given the go ahead to play their fixtures, but after only 3 games, they are effectively saying that they are unable to field a side. I'm struggling to see why they are any different to Bury? There should be a punishment coming for this for failing to fulfil a fixture. If not, what is to stop any club on a bad run claiming the "player welfare" excuse to postpone a game. They also seem to have gotten away without punishment for failing to play Brentford last season.

And we have played three of the top four, including two away games. It doesn't look good at the moment but no need to panic just yet. They are at the top because they have played us! We are a 3 point banker! Well they must have beaten other teams also as they didnt get all of their 7 or 9 points off us.

Look it’s a poor start but I think we should breathe a bit before we sharpen any knives! Posters are saying he had all summer but we can’t afford to bring in players to replace Sercs, Clarke, Benno Rodman Nichols as they are under contract and who would want them? I forgot Upson. We will need patience this season as it’s a new squad and one that is no longer a core of our promotion ones. We are one of 10 teams who will fight to avoid the drop. I for one will be backing him to get it right. And we have played three of the top four, including two away games. It doesn't look good at the moment but no need to panic just yet.

Here we go again. The same posters who run down our football club at every opportunity are out of the woodwork once again.
Before you get too satisfied, any of you remember a lad called Denis Bailey, an unknown who came to us on loan? Who's to say this lad won't be just as good?
Try supporting Bristol Rovers once in a while, you might get to like it!

1990 kit was my first ever kit. Design Windows was sown on and it was like running around with a cardboard sign on your chest. If it's a retro kit, logo and all, that would be fantastic Me too, classic kit but so tinpot at the same time. Bloody loved that kit! Think I still have it in the loft but may be a few sizes too small now... Yep. It's amazing how much those old shirts shrink whilst in storage. Must have used inferior quality material. 😊

Been nice knowing you Luke... You could not make it up. Some writing a player off, who has been a virtual ever present in league two for the last two seasons. He's a young lad, so this old git is quite prepared to accept he likes a night out, as no doubt other players in our squad do. Exactly right.
Day after day the same people come on here spouting the same negative comments, whether the topic is players, stadiums, season tickets or sausage rolls.
They then claim to be Bristol Rovers "supporters".

Could be Steven Naismith who has been released by Norwich. His wage demands would probably be 3/4 of our entire wage budget. I didn't know we were being serious, I thought we were just chucking names about of anyone who played for those three promoted clubs ! Damn. My next suggestion was going to be Billy Sharp.

Ollie Clarke now confirmed. Tong Craig led the team out in the first half at Yate today wearing the EFL Captain's arm band. Didn't see Ollie Clarke wearing it when he came on in the second half and Craig didn't appear for the second half. Did Tony have a meltdown and hide it?? lol Photo on the match report clearly shows Ollie wearing it.

First half of the season up to Boxing Day we have 13 at home and 10 away. With 13 away games after Christmas, we need to have a good points return through the autumn as a bit of a buffer, just in case! 😯

Released tomorrow at 9am so I thought I’d get a thread going. Any fixtures you’d like to see on the first day of the season or Boxing Day etc? Personally I wouldn’t mind a visit to Oxford or a trip to St Andrews to play Coventry City. Am I also right in assuming that we will start away from home due to the annual balloon fiesta? I believe you are right about first game being away because of balloons the following weekend.
Wouldn't want to play Coventry on day one due to the fact that we have never won a game we played in the city of Birmingham - ever. Would make a nice change to start the season with a win which we haven't done for a few years.

We never put a planning application in for Severnside. We talked to the council about developing a large area, to include a stadium and finance the said stadium by selling off the rest of the developments units. After many months of discussions and 'Artists impressions' being published, the then leader of the council got cold feet saying that there was no guarantee that a stadium would ever be built and the rest is history.
So somebody just made all this up about plans being submitted then? gasheads.org/thread/192/archivesGasheads just dream about plots of land being available for a stadium but in 50(?) years we've never managed to find one other than the one at the UWE, and our friends south of the the river haven't had any more joy. Unless we somehow find a way to get the UWE back on board I don't expect to see Rovers in a new stadium within the next decade. There were lots of pretty pictures and plans made, but no planning application was submitted.

Dont agree there is zero development land in Bristol / South Glos. There is a 1000+ acres available in severnside alone then there is part of Filtot Airfield that is in Bristol. Bristol City Council have never turned down a planning application from BRFC. The one annd only reason we haven't got land for a new stadium is purely financial. We've already had pp turned down for Severnside there's no real proof we'd get it now plus i doubt many Gasheads favour a ground miles from our heartland. The land at Filton Airport would probably cost more now to purchase than the Mem land, we've missed the boat with that land, having the Areana and a stadium there would have seemed ideal as a combined leisure/sports complex. Think you'll find it's £65k per WEEK. Still not good, but not quite so alarming as that. Good spot, my mistake. Edited the original. No probs. Got any odd jobs you want doing? A couple of hours work at your rates would buy me and the wife a lovely cruise!

This link is not that much use if you are not on Twitter. It's 2019, just.. get Twitter lol. No seriously though, you should still be able to view it without being logged on/signed up. Gist is we're losing approx. £65k per day and are only still alive thanks to owner input. BLUF, when the owners stop putting money in, we're the next Hereford/Darlington/etc. Think you'll find it's £65k per WEEK. Still not good, but not quite so alarming as that.

That table is clearly wrong. Southend lost £3.1m so should be below us and as Swansea, ourselves and Colchester all lost £3.0m, we should be in joint 60th position.
That puts us in the middle third - bit like finishing 15th in league One this season!

Did you also visit the Kelpies just around the corner? Yep,that's why we're here mate and the Falkirk Wheel. Good man. Saw both, two years ago and planning another visit with friends later this year.
