Didn't we have a game against York City, further back where there were a lot of sendings off? 1973/74. We lost 2-1 in late in the season we went up, March I think. Without checking think we had Kenny Stephens sent off. It was a controversial match with the ref losing it. Fortunately it didn’t cost us too much. UTG! From memory, we were a goal down for quite a lot of the match. Had Kenny and Bruce sent off. Got a late equaliser and got beat by a controversial very late penalty. Referee seemed to be determined that we would lose whatever. Think the sendings off were Bruce first, then the equaliser then Kenny off for disputing the pen. Could be slightly wrong, memory not what it was.

DC after match interview says not to expect a big signing. Has a long list of players he would like - but has had to scrub several off the list due to cost (fees and wages). May have some news early next week.

All this hand wringing and mock outrage that we have somehow lost the quarters.
We have never played in quarters as the 'lower quarters' have always been larger than the 'upper quarters'.
Storm in a teacup.

I notice on the BBC League One page, we're in the playoff places already with the best goal difference we've had for a long time.
Could be a sign of a very good season to come.

That is what I was told too. So, as there has been a deliberate news blackout regarding new players, will next week be an overload of quality signings designed to send us into ecstacy - or a frustrating let down when we realise that not a lot was happening after all?

Why is it unfair? All teams have to play each other home and away. Read what I said. “Seems a bit...” we obviously ask to play away so probably our choice and as you say in the end we play home and away. Most teams alternate home and away for first fixture. UTG! Think you've got it a bit wrong about the balloon fiesta Wareham. We're always at home when it's on and it's more likely the police insist that the teds are away that weekend, rather than us asking to be away first match.

If you are talking directly to me, I don't believe I have ever presented anything as fact, merely my own opinions or interpretations and I certainly haven't posted any rumours.
but if we are dealing in facts, the last fact regarding Martyn Starnes is he starts on the 9th July
www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/march/chiefexecutive/
It's all a bit strange that he's already been replaced at Plymuff before he "officailly" leaves them on the 31 May but then doesn't join up with us for another 5 weeks. Isn't it an ideal time for the guy to take a holiday bearing in mind that he won't get much time once the season starts? Even chief executives need a holiday.

A little help on the left hand side - 1 = James Brown - he was the kit man for a while - Knows Dave Pritchard well and they came over from Spain together, bless 'em. 2 = Devinder Singh - Young player who never made a first team appearance, but has always been very complimentary to Rovers, and Bobby Gould, for giving him a chance. Includes 10 members of the 1989/90 Third Division Champions squad. We hope to get them all together (except the two abroad!) later this year... 16 I think, L-R Chris MCclean, Billy Clark, Gary Smart, peter Aitken, Dave Gilroy, Bobby Gould, Hoggy, Pritch, Twentyman, Trev Challis, Joner, Boris, Ian Wilmott, Tony Pounder, Tilly, Percy, Punky. Good shout. I think the white haired guy next to Peter Aitken (in front) is Tom Stanton and extreme right of pic isn't Punky but Graham Day.

Last time we went there our fans helped clear the pitch of snow and their then manager Steve Evans wasn't too happy.Previously at some athletics track ground (Made the Mem look like Wembley!) where we were miles from the pitch behind the running track,we scored in the last minute to take the points.25 Feb 2012.Can't remember the scorer's name but think he may have been on loan. T'was Andy Dorman.

They've given us a couple of hidings lately and our last win against them was back in 2010 with goals from Steve Elliot and Heffernan. Istr Lines should have been sent off in that game which was live on Sky. No it was Dominic Blizzard who should have seen red. Very bad tackle in the first minute which only got a yellow.

I'm not sure where this £16, £4 per ticket comes from? Is this what people are saying it costs on top of the ticket price to get them delivered? I certainly wasn't charged for that when I renewed yesterday. When you attempt to buy them online £4 is added to the price for "delivery charges", I'd accept £1:50/£2 but £4 seems a bit steep, particularly if they are sending them out for free if you buy them in the shop! Bought mine at the shop yesterday and paid £1.50 'Admin fee' on top of ticket, which will be posted out to me in the summer. Now as the cost of a 1st class stamp went up to 67p this week, that just leaves 83p to cover the cost of someone printing an address label and enveloping the ticket for posting. Sounds good value to me. Mind you I could get very picky if they send it second class!

6 points away from another season in league one more like! Didn't we get relegated to league two with 53 or 54 points once, so shouldn't we aim for 55 points to be safe? Statisticians correct me if I'm wrong. Went down in 2001 with 51pts and again in 2011 with 45pts. Agree with you that we should always assume 54/55pts would be needed for safety. Nearly there, so on with the promotion push!

Why ain't he giving Mensah more of a chance Have to trust DC on Mensah. He sees him day in, day out on the training pitch and must feel he's not yet ready for league one or hasn't got the high level of fitness required yet. Probably see just the odd cameo and then a lot more of him next season. Great result tonight after shocking first half performance. Great character once again. What happened to MrBone second half?Probably went to bed early and cried himself to sleep.

Blimey I didn’t realise their ground was that big! Fair play to them. Was at the Ricoh,Marshy.Guess it must have been special, Coventry having extended their lease and must have been reduced entrance but over 28,0000 a bit special. Old Clem on BBC Final Score yesterday reckoned they gave out 15,000 tickets free to school children and charged £2 entry for everyone else.
