Do you know roughly how many were there? Not good at guessing numbers, but I'd hazard a guess at around 800-1000, possibly more, possibly less. Was thoroughly worth the £5 entry fee. Even if only 500-600 were there, still good money for the club.

Hugely successful for the club again and must be extremely profitable. Especially with the NL Derby beforehand meaning extra income on drinks. Great atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyed it. Do you know roughly how many were there?

77 years of underinvestment and incompetence look like continuing. 2 years is more than long enough to to have had made progress and start on the academy now training ground. Plans in place but none to be seen at that time. A charge against the ground made and links to Arabic countries. There is more but I just can’t think of it all as I try not to beacuse it only brings further disappointment But we only bought the site 1 year ago.

I remember poor old Ollie trying to cover his bald pate during a hailstone downpour at the Mem. Must have been really painful! Yep. That was against Ipswich in the FA Cup. Think we drew 1-1 and lost 1-0 in the replay around late 1990's / early 2000's?

Lost at home to Northampton Saturday too. Going to lose to Bristol Rovers on Saturday as well !!!! Played them 25 times in all and our record is very good. W13, D7, L5. Away from home - W4, D4, L5. At home we have - W9, D3, L0. We have scored 4 against them on 5 occasions and of course had a lucky 7-1 win, back in the 70's. So history is on our side, except if you are superstitious and note that it will be the 13th time we have played them at home!!!

But we don't have advertising hoardings overlooking the motorway and earning a fortune as Walsall do. But we have a training ground overlooking the motorway, so................

I think we once lost 7 - 3 to Blackburn many moons ago ?? I think you will find it was 8-3 back in 1955. You are correct, Helpliner. Just being an anorak for a moment, our full record against them is P35 W15 D7 L13 this includes a few FA Cup and League Cup matches. However, we had a remarkable run of results against them between 14 March 1972 and 4 April 1979. During that time we played them in 14 League matches and 1 FA Cup and had a record of P15 W11 D4 L0. Not so good since then, P6 W1 D1 L4. Last played them in 1991/92 season, Second division (now Championship) and lost 0-3 away before winning 3-0 at home. So we go into Saturdays game with a one match winning run! UTG

I've obviously missed something, what's wrong with Adam Smith? Broken arm. Really? Thought it was a broken bone in his hand.

Slowed the greyhounds down a bit. Puts a whole new slant on the excuse that you can't come out 'cause you're washing your Hare.

Looking at the Arturus drawings which are posted on the other forum, the pitch and stands look to be in the same place as present. Pretty sure it has slid north a bit, to make more space for a South Stand and a bit more room for the West Stand. On second glance, you are correct. The precident has been set though and the planners have accepted that it is ok to build a stand full width at that end. Just an observation but the Arturus drawing you posted must have been drawn very early in the morning judging by the shadows, 'cause by 3.00pm on an August Saturday, the sun is dead opposite and giving all of us on the East terrace a proper sun tan! 😎

The previous scheme with the student flats had planning permission for a 'full blown stand' at the South end. But didn't that involve moving the ground/pitch not just building it on the present South Stand foot print? Looking at the Arturus drawings which are posted on the other forum, the pitch and stands look to be in the same place as present.

If we are going with gradual re-generation with pitch staying in same position (just spent 100K), I would like to see the south stand developed to full pitch dimensions and incorporating the south west stand as well joining west terrace. Similar to Wokings stand which was quite steep but had a concourse. This would house limited away fans and an increased number of re-housed home fans from Dribuild / east terrace. Next phase would see dribuild / east terrace stand developed with hotel, conference rooms and casino ect. This stand would be the money maker and to a very large scale. Next phase would be blackthorn end which would be dedicated safe standing and adjoining east stand but maybe to same scale as south stand. Next phase west enclosure which would join up south west and blackthorn. So effectively a three sided stadium with same dimensions and a much larger stand which would no doubt eat up some car park. Whole ground would have a concourse all away around. Just my thoughts on how to polish a turd and remain at the stadium rather than moving out. www.wokingfc.co.uk/img/history/kingfield/kingfield-lgs-3.jpgGiven we can't apparently even increase the South Stand tent to the full width of the pitch due to blocking out residents light, then how are we going to get pp for a full blown stand? Likewise why build a casino when it has to close by 11pm to meet licensing laws? Perhaps these issues can be overcome but it sounds like Wael hasn't considered any of them before now deciding to remain at the Mem. I wonder if the B Post or Radio Bristol have approached the UWE for there take on Wael's interview, if so, whether they've declined the invite? The previous scheme with the student flats had planning permission for a 'full blown stand' at the South end.

I am not architect. but could a new ground be built with the pitch much lower allowing for a bigger capacity stadium and it not have such an effect on the skyline.. No idea, but I think someone mentioned this or underground parking, but drainage issues were quoted I think. Nevertheless, the infrastructure around the stadium is rubbish & don't know how much that will cost. I hate the idea of redevelopment of the Mem & don't think it's viable - but Wael has decided so we need to see what plans he has. Whatever they are, as aghast suggests, son of Trash, may soon be raising its ugly head. No. Trash wanted it to remain as a sports stadium. It was Horfield Rose that didn't want it enlarged.

#Millwall are in advanced talks with Colombian winger Cristian Montaño. Two and a half year deal could be penned on a free transfer soon Not saying I disbelieve this but why would anyone sign a two and a half year deal in the summer? Wouldn't it be either two years or three years?

Keeper

Obviously the ideal situation is to have three keepers on the books- (i) the up and coming (ii) the man at the peak of his powers (iii) the old pro. If Milders accepts the coaching role does this preclude him from playing if and when required and being (iii) above? If fit I wouldn't mind seeing him between the sticks a few more times. If Mildy is a player/ coach then from what I understand his wages count towards the EFL wages cap but if he is coach they do not. So I guess it's unlikely to be player/coach unless DC is willing for his wages to come out of the playing budget. Right at the start of the Lee Mansell interview a couple of days ago, he mentions that both he and 'Stevie' would be "hanging up their boots" so unlikely to see either of them in a Rovers shirt again, I guess.
