Tomorrow will show us all where we are headed as a club in the next few years. This will be the first big chance for our new owners to really make a statement that they also want Championship football in the near term. Obviously, this is going to be anything but cheap, and up until recently I was reasonably hopeful that DC would get what he wants, or at least close to it. Now I'm not so sure. Nothing seems to have moved forward at the training ground, and I mean in terms of levelling and grading the soil for the new pitches, not the infrastructure that requires planning permission. Now today, it seems that the contractors who were planned to begin work on the drainage at the Mem are nowhere to be seen. Hope this is nothing to to worry about, but I can't help thinking back to the AGM, when Wael seemed to prefer not to be there, (yawning two or three times, and taking little part in proceedings)and then SH suddenly announcing that Wael had to leave in the next few moments because he had to catch a train. In itself, nothing much, but why was his departure time not announced at the beginning of the meeting instead of 10 minutes before he had to leave? I don't think this would have happened in a banking forum. Just hope tomorrow shows only positivity and nothing else. Do you really think any information from the meeting will be made public? Would be pretty stupid if they did given no club anywhere ever makes there budget for the season public knowledge. The big problem is that some fans expect everything done over night, were making steady progress in the right direction which is more than I can say about any rovers setup for about the last 25 years. You obviously haven't followed the thread.

Nothing the Al-Qadi family do (at their own pace - not yours) will ever satisfy you it seems. To most of us supporters they are moving the Club along quite nicely thankyou. Read it again, or can't you?

I still can't DS would spend £250K buying the training ground if they didn't intend developing just to keep DC happy. £250k. You wish.

Topper. I'm not talking about any particular topic in detail. We certainly won't be told what the budget is.I'm just worried that all may not be sweetness and light in Rovers land. It's just that little things on their own don't mean much. But now in recent weeks there has been Waels strange demeanour at the AGM, the no show of contractors at the Mem today, and no movement at the training ground. Now, tomorrow we have DC and his budget.
I just hope lack of funding is not the order of the day yet again.

So DC is asking for the most he can, I see no reason to believe he won't get it but if doesn't- if he gets a top 12 budget that's not unreasonable either. He had a top 12 budget last season and wasn't happy with it. As confirmed by Steve Brookfield at the AGM.

Would be happy with McNulty + another, but he took a bit of a step back this year after doing well in 14-15 and 15-16. Suspect the 'financially trump' stuff is paper talk though, Pompey are about to undergo a takeover themselves and get double the crowds we do near enough. As has been constantly shown, size isn't everything. If it was Fleetwood would be in the Conference North.

Our recent experience of Scottish players is not good so not for me I'm afraid. Perhaps we should buy good ones then.

The longer we wait for UWE the more interested I get in developing the Mem. Turn the pitch, build a stadium that holds 20k with designed in growth as the club progresses to overtake the sh**,and moves into the premiership. Local pubs, chippy, atmosphere, and heritage. And where exactly do we play whilst the ground is turned around and rebuilt, let alone parking issues etc. Its so easy when you don't think it out.

What happened to Rushden & Diamonds they were a weird lot, are they still going or did they go pop? Their ground has been demolished. Someone posted pictures of it on twitter a few days ago.

Previous owners have let the Mem get into such a poor state we've now got no alternative but to move to a new stadium or somehow finance a complete rebuild of the Mem, if we could still get pp for the latter. Not sure where you are coming from Topper. It's alright giving populist arguements, but look at what you are saying. Even allowing for all the monies laid out by Wael, our capacity is 12,500. Or even 11750 due to segregation. What investment should NH or GD have made to generate money? To answer that, you need a business plan. Where is yours. It's alright giving glib answers, but in the real world a lot of planning has to go into major decisions like this. If you could get 18000 into the Mem, where would cars park? Remember that in the event of it being redeveloped, nobody would be able to park within about two miles of the ground as a result of resident only parking permits which by the way had to be funded by us. No, the only answer is that we need UWE or it's equivalent, and I believe this messing around with UWE has gone on long enough. If it's not going to happen then say so and we all move on. As they say, it's the hope that kills you.

Wow, this forum should come with a health warning as reading some of the codswallop posted on this thread and others makes me want to go out and lamp someone. So to make me feel better I had to write this. I like our stadium, I like the pubs, I like the close proximity to my house, I like the atmosphere, I like standing, I like glos rd, I like that my kids can wander around the stand safely and see their mates (who they met over the season) at half time and during the game for pure u10 banter and abusing (not dirtily) the Stewards. I don't really care if the stadium is delayed, we're in good hands. Don't wish it away too soon. Other fans take the pi33 out of our stadium - so what, I don't care. Some of you should've seen Twerton....which I loved by the way. Steve Hamer hasn't posted anything, patted me on the bank or said thank you. I don't care. What am I going to gain from a thank you? Will I go back next season if he doesn't post some words on the internet? Hell yeah. Our sprinklers look like they've been salvaged by from the Second World War. I don't care, they're cute, reminds me of my youth, just wish I could get on the pitch with my top off at half time and get wet. We're spending money on improving the pitch. Great, what's not to like? If we get a really wet period we will be in a better position, games have been called off over holiday periods before losing us lots of money. Plus some silky footie at home to boot on a flat, puddle free pitch. New curtains, cleaning the carpets, pop up bars, new gates, cleaning the windows, stuff for the kids to do on match days - great, if Wael and co want to invest more, carry on. It's not my money...well it is as I spend more around the ground now rather than at the over-priced Inn on the Green - ah see what you did there Wael! Some people, stop crying, keep yer titz on and get a life. Stop micro analysing stuff when someone does, or doesn't do something Some people, carry on as you were Some people, post more Some people, post less Some people, stop getting angry Some people, get more angry Some people, lets go fxxxxxg mental la, la, la, la. Lets all have a disco, lets all have a disco la, la, la, laaaaaaaaah. KP, hope you get better soon. I'm off to see my Psychiatrist now, bye love, leave my tea in microwave. UTG Do you also like the fact that we are now losing approx £1m per season as long as we stay at the Mem?

Related to this - I was impressed by what their chairman has said about next season. It would be nice to hear something similar from Wael as it would also back-up DCs wishes made earlier. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39846008I would only like to hear it if it was true. There's no point saying it for the sake of it to temporarily please fans, only for them to be disappointed later on when the club haven't met their expectations. I'm sure Wael will set a playing budget as high as possible under the FFP rules. However, DC likes value for money on his players, so whether he chooses to spend this whole budget or not is a different matter. In January he apparently had money to spend after the snake left but he opted not to because he didn't want to be ripped off. I can't imagine his mindset has changed since then. UTG! I thought Judas left on the last day of the window, or pretty close to it.

I thought you weren't going anyway? I just wonder if we're waiting on Sheffield Weds to end their season, if not, then it seems strange to advertise we're playing a game if one isn't going to be arranged. Why does whether you are going or not matter? You don't go to all the away games but have plenty to say on them all🤐 Remember its a forum for everyone.

They will wait until every last season ticket has been sold before breaking the news that uwe is dead. Have a feeling we are being taken for mugs. Unlike you Chippenham, most of us would buy the season tickets irrespective of whether we will end up at the UWE. BECAUSE WE LOVE THE CLUB.

so be honest - all this inside info - are you sure he is sober when he tells you? After a few beers, who gives a F##k ! lol Henbury, why bother. You are upsetting the keyboard warriors again who contribute what they loosely call jokes and fcukall else. Leave them to get on with their homework. By the way way everyone except those who get upset, Bolton had the top budget, Charlton rumoured to have the second biggest and we were about 12th as Severncider has already stated.
