Very Pleased obviously with the win, however Zain Westbrookes dead ball delivery is shocking, we get everyone forward and it is delivered nowhere near anybody, like Zain a lot but must do better. Could not have hoped for better results, need a win Saturday and I will then start believing we can stay up, just. I've been saying the same for weeks, I like what Westbrook can do for the team in open play when in a forward role, he's got an eye for a great pass but his dead ball delivery is very poor most of the time.

Oh I didn't realise we drop 2 divisions when we get relegated You know what I mean. Do you think this squad, may if whom are under contract for next year, have the fight in them for league 2? I dont On the basis of what we're witnessing now possibly not but I do think it's a little bit early to call that we're destined for non league. Look, in the last week I've only just come to terms with the fact that we're going down to L2, I don't think I can cope just yet with writing off next season as well!!!🤣

Couldn't see much positive to take out of that. As someone else has said, one goal in five games? Some rebuilding required to after another chaotic season. Non league beckons Oh I didn't realise we drop 2 divisions when we get relegated

I think it's become clear from the way he's now talking that JB has all but written the season off given we've not picked up any points in the last two games which were arguably our best chance at getting some distance between us and the drop zone.
To be fair from what I've read on the forum since Tuesday it seems we are all pretty much in agreement with that assessment.
I wasn't overjoyed with JB's appointment but he had been winning me over in the first couple of weeks with his positive mental attitude and say it how it is approach however after the last few press conferences I'm once again feeling that perhaps he's not the one for us.
I just feel uncomfortable with him calling everyone and everything out as being crap (even though that's true!) when he hasn't really proven that he's been able to maintain the stats quo let alone improve it, in fact the evidence suggests we've got worse in terms of results albeit our performances have definitely improved.
He said in one interview that he'd told the players to stop making excuses / apologies for their failings on social media and do their talking on the pitch, well I think he could do with listening to his own advice and do less talking in the media and focus his energy on trying to improve our performances and results and see if he can get us out of the sh*t!

I don't blame TW for the players signed as imo thats up the the manager to decide which one he picks from a list he is given. However I do blame TW for the imbalance issues we have in the squad especially around the 1000 defensive players we have and 3 strikers. That's why personally I would have liked to have seen TW in temporary charge for a bit longer before we appointed our 3rd permanent manager this season. I would've liked to see him back up his stance that the players were more than good enough for L1. As the main man involved in recruiting said players he would presumably have a good connection with them individually. To me the fact that 3 permanent managers have had a go at getting a tune out of them and failed is sufficient evidence that the squad is simply not good enough collectively albeit individually many of them are indeed talented. I really hate the way this has turned out and the wastage involved with what seems to be a complete changing of the guard (players, coaches, possibly another manager and who knows else) on the way in the summer. I just want my old Rovers back, typically a team built on hard work, grit and determination with a die hard attitude that win lose or draw would make me feel proud of them. Perhaps covid hasn't helped but I just don't feel a connection with any of the players we have on the field at the moment.☹️

We simply have to get all 3 points on Tuesday, if we don't then that's surely us down as we are very unlikely to get anything from the following 3 games:
Sunderland Ipswich Doncaster
Feeling very very despondent this evening

It's not his opinion it's quotes from JB: "Those boys had a little flat spot, but the response the other night when they played at Exeter City was first class. When I spoke to Manse (Lee Mansell), he said they were bang on it. Dave Tutonda, leading the young players, being a good influence. Oz, the same, after I chatted with them. "Injuries from Tuesday night have presented opportunities to come into the squad and get back in the matchday experience. Opportunities are starting to unfold for these lads and they’re going to come back into the squad, they’re going to come back into the picture. It’s up to them what they make of that." Pretty sure Tutonda has been in and out of the 1st team squad under JB, but he never gets near playing. Can anybody understand why we can never get to hear JB's full interviews but just the shortened version where he just answers questions from Rovers own interviewer? Why can't the club publish the short version for fans with a short attention span and the full interviews for rest on of us, as they already do with the match highlights. JB selected Tutonda for the 1st time today.

Frost hasn't a clue, I can't see many changes being made tomorrow. Leahy in particularly seems a nailed on starter. Frost is useless, thinks he knows what’s going on. We haven’t had a good BEP Rovers correspondent since Robin Perry It's not his opinion it's quotes from JB: "Those boys had a little flat spot, but the response the other night when they played at Exeter City was first class. When I spoke to Manse (Lee Mansell), he said they were bang on it. Dave Tutonda, leading the young players, being a good influence. Oz, the same, after I chatted with them. Shame that Hare seems out of favour as he's got a killer cross in him and I reckon he'd take better corners and free kicks than Westbrook. That said he's not a strong defensively as Rodders so this might not be the game for him, I would put Williams at RWB and bring Ehmer or Harries into the back 3.

Daly and Ayunga must start, Hanlan and Nicholson need to be rested.
Westbrook to play in a forward role but should be taken off the free kick and corner duties as he's created absolutely zero from them in any of our recent games. Would prefer McCormick / Rodman to have a go to be honest.

We've gone backwards today imo.
We seemed ok until we conceded the first goal and then the rest of the performance reminded me of the turgid crap that we had to watch from BG / PT.
Lacklustre and timid, passing backwards and sideways, not playing to a fast enough tempo.
Hanlan must be rested, he looked knackered. Need to start Ayunga on Tuesday. Daly not yet match fit and needs more game time.
Westbrook looks good on the ball but I've not seen a decent free kick or corner from him for a long time but I've no idea who else could take them to be honest.
I don't like to say this but is it only me who thinks we are being disadvantaged in every game at the moment by one sided refs? Perhaps we are just not streetwise enough as a team and are being outplayed by the opposition.
Feel thoroughly depressed after watching that and I'm really not looking forward to the next game but I'm a gashead and glutton for punishment so obviously I will.
I'm off to go and beat the sh** out of some cushions or yell at the wall or something or other!

Absolute joke of a ref who basically threw the game in Burton's favour after we had them on the ropes in the first half.
My biggest regret is once again that we didn't take our chances when we had them.
Yet another lost opportunity to get some crucial points against a team we should be beating, now the game with Hull becomes even more important.
The only thing that gives me hope is that we have had wins against Pompey & Lincoln and draws with Posh & Sunderland so no reason to think we can't get a result but the pressure is building as the number of games left in the season reduces.

Westbrook was excellent in open play yesterday with his flicks and tricks etc. but I was disappointed with his deliveries from free kicks and corners. I think actually think Rodman or McCormick would do better.
There's no doubt Westbrook needs to be played higher up the pitch, he's not that good at tackling so not an effective defensive midfielder imo.

Phew! None of us ever thought it was going to be plain sailing at 2-0 going into the 90th minute! Big win and a great shift from the players. The only negative is I’m not a big fan of JB’s late triple substitution. He did it on Tuesday and the all the subs were at fault for those goals and today’s. Tisdale would have been fuming with those goal and full time celebrations mind! Yep, would be better to spread them out a bit, it would wind down the clock a bit and allow time for the team to adjust to the changes

Does an all white kit really clash with ours?? No, especially as ours is almost completely blue!

Me too. Hopefully we can use it as extra motivation to rub their noses in it. If you have a first kit of blue/yellow and second of white why would you have a third kit (purple) that clashes with either of those? I don't understand why the shrews can't wear their away kit, it's all white isn't it?

Sorry but imo it's not fair to blame Ayunga for the loss to Wigan.
If we'd have taken or chances earlier in the game we would have won, if we'd not had conceded earlier in the match (when Ayunga was sat on the bench) we'd have got the draw we at least deserved from the game. It's all if's and but's which makes no difference to the result.
As a team we are simply not good enough in both boxes which has been the case throughout the season, that is the reason we are at the bottom of the table.
To balance this up a bit and be fair to Ayunga, he's not had that many minutes on the pitch compared to our other strikers and if not for his brace of goals against Pompey the other day we'd be at the bottom of the table now.
Perspective is what is needed not scape goating a young player.

Not sure if this has been shared already but just in case.....
Thought we could do with hearing some positivity this morning after last night's sucker punch defeat.
I'll confess that I felt uneasy about JB's appointment (still am to some degree) but I have to say I like what I've heard from him so far, comes across much different than I had expected and has a confidence about him that I've not felt since DC left us.
Really hope the JB team can do what they say and get our under performing squad really ticking and picking up points to haul us to safety.

Let's hope our new defensive coach can sort it out!
Interesting that we seem to defend quite well during open play but are absolutely useless from set pieces, that to me suggests that is something bigger than the failings in the back line as surely it's a team effort when defending set pieces.
This could be something that is not that difficult to fix and does not mean we need new players in the building.

Ayunga cost Rovers tonight when he came on. On every occasion (except one) took the wrong option and made a very silly unnecessary foul for the free kick. We could have had a point if it wasn't for him Don't agree with that, Ayunga did not cost us the game, poor defending in our box and poor attacking in their box cost us the game imo
