Darrell Clarke has done a great job over the last two years but I feel that to describe him 'our greatest manger ever' as someone did above, is a bit premature. (Francis got us promoted to the second tier on a shoestring and Tann took us to verge of the top division). DC has so far operated at a level where he has lots of experience. He has tended to gather players of whom he already has some knowledge. From here on, that doesn't apply quite so much. He is fallible and nobody gets everything right all the time as they advance through their career. He obviously thought he got it right with recruitment in the summer as he originally said back in September that there would be little change in January; now he is saying the opposite. He thought he knew what was needed when he first took over as manager and we know that didn't go quite as he intended. Something has clearly gone wrong now with team spirit, perhaps because managing a large squad is something our manager hasn't done before. The next few months will show whether our manager can really go on to be a great manager or just someone who does well at L2 and non league level, using players he knows. Fingers crossed he gets it right! Absolutely spot on!

DC incentivised (rightly or wrongly) the players with a contract upon promotion toward the end of the season. DCs choice ........but now may have de-incentivsed them by publicly criticizing individuals and letting it be known that a number will be on their way in January

Chris Lines may be a bit 'Handbags' at times but when he wears his 'Glad Rags' he's our best player by far. He'd always be one of the first on the team sheet for me.

Similar reaction to the first goal (about 30 seconds)...good on him, he obviously cares!

It must be educated guesswork. I'm no accountant but financial accounts are usually published, at the earliest, after the end of a financial year; so all these statements must be informed by previous years' spends. And nobody tells the full truth anyway!

I was watching the highlights of the second day of the Fourth Test between England and India and saw a large England flag with BRISTOL ROVERS across it draped over the boundary fence. Have we got an Indian fanbase, or fans who travel with the Barmy Army?

Puddy. No point him being at the club unless he's considered when other 'keepers are injured/out of form. He's confident and distributes the ball well. Looked assured v Slimbridge (ok only Slimbridge!)

Also...............the club advertised admission prices as £1 for concessions. At the turnstile the operator said that was only for U16s. Rather embarrassing for the over 65s who had their £1 ready and were then told it didn't apply to them.

* The two trialists played up front. Jae Kim particularly impressed. Good on the ball, good movement off, and slammed home his goal * Cook scored with a powerful well-placed header. Didn't look out of place but tired towards the end. * Moore has undoubted skill but shirks 50/50s. * Broom didn't really seize his chance. OK, but I hoped for more. * Mansell tried to boss things, could be in the running for a recall. Lawrence did a few nice things but I can't see him forcing his way back * Puddy had a tidy, competent match. I'd have him back for Saturday. * Although he scored Bodin flitted in and out of the match * Kilgour went off injured to be replaced by Sam Iles

Which first team? The 442 one, the 352 one, the 4312 one, the 433 one........................ We may be playing a team of rookies, but I can't see us crowing over the result!

Roos should have been off or at least yellow carded for bringing the Barrow player down in the box. From where I was standing directly in line on the Dribuild Terrace it was a nailed-on penalty. Their player had nothing to gain from going down. He was about to transfer the ball to his left foot for a tap-in. Everyone around me was sure that a penalty had been given, and laughter broke out when their player was booked.

All the makings of a tough match and possible upset( I mean Barrow winning!) However...........with a game in hand over Lincoln City, Forest Green Rovers and Tranmere Rovers;and having been out of the league since 1972, you have to wonder (sub-conscious and all that) what their priority this season is.
