Still Bert Tann for me, with DC catching up fast. Also wish David Williams had stuck around longer.

Very confident and competent performance by the back five of Puddy, Harris, Greenslade, Burn and Clarke. Montano a constant threat. That back 5 should impress against a Div 1 U18 side? You're right of course, but what the opposition lacked in age and experience they made up for with youthful energy. Also Burn and Harris are newcomers but both seemed to settle well within the team and looked like good acquisitions.

Not sure which is worse...........verbal abuse of a player who has basically shoved two fingers up at the club which rescued him from obscurity, or getting into a car with almost twice the legal limit of alcohol inside you!

Randy is normally an articulate and perceptive writer, but here he seems to overlook the fact that a lot of Rovers' fans' anger was not only about Taylor's departure, but the manner of it.
I'm still waiting to read that he thanks DC and Rovers for rescuing him from the bench at Nailsworth.
I don't think another City fan, Richard Latham, would put such a biased and one-eyed article into the public domain.
The Bristol Post is all over the place at the moment. Trying to find an identity it is becoming increasingly like the more salacious 'Red Tops' of the newspaper world.

Why would our Press Officer be present at a Press Conference elsewhere? god knows! Adam Baker and Keith Brookman sound very similar. On radio it's very easy to mistake one for the other!

Good post ! I will reserve judgement on SH, though. I think he is uncomfortable, when challenged & needs to be more empathetic with the supporters. His radio interviews of late, has for me, come across as an irritated individual, who doesn't appreciate what us fans have been through in the recent times & unlike Wael & especially DC, he doesn't seem to understand the supporters. The article which was pulled from the OS yesterday was just another example of this, but fair play for pulling it. Hopefully wrong, but ever since his landing lights scenario, he has not filled me with great confidence. Still, it's good to focus on the positives, positive news re UWE , Training ground, a trip to Wembley & 3 in 3 would cap off the most wonderful time in the last 50+ years supporting the Real Team in Bristol. UTG What "article was pulled from the OS yesterday? Was it this ? Given that the transfer window was open for a month, it’s amazing how much business was conducted on the final day and concluded only hours or minutes before the 11.00pm deadline. As far as Rovers were concerned, of course, the big news centred on the departure of striker Matty Taylor to our arch rivals Bristol City and the repercussions of that move will almost certainly reverberate around the club in the weeks and months ahead. However, there are many reasons to remain positive about our season in spite of how supporters might feel about a deal that was concluded which Rovers were powerless to prevent. In the last three years we have been relegated out of the league and then won back to back promotions and currently sit in eighth place just three points off of a play-off place. Also, it’s not as though Taylor was the club’s only striker and so his departure gives any one of Billy Bodin, Rory Gaffney, Ellis Harrison, Luke James, or Jamie Lucas the opportunity to step up to the plate In spite of what our supporters think, a number of efforts were made to bring players in before the window closed, but it should be remembered that manager Darrell Clarke did bring in four players in January and didn’t leave everything until the last minute. The first of the quartet to arrive was defender Joe Partington, from Eastleigh, in a permanent move for an undisclosed fee and his arrival was quickly followed by goalkeeper Joe Lumley, on loan from Queens Park Rangers. Stoke City defender Ryan Sweeney then arrived on loan, and he was followed by Middlesbrough defender Jonny Burn arriving in a permanent deal. Although the window has now closed, clubs are still able to sign players who are free agents. One piece of news that escaped attention was the departure of midfielder Liam Lawrence. The former Republic of Ireland international, who scored once in 16 league games for the club, has had his contract cancelled by mutual agreement and is now a free agent. We wish him well for the future. Read more at www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/january-transfer-window

I've noticed on the 'Other Sides' forum an increasing, grudging appreciation of what DC has done for us. They still mock him with the 'Dopey' bit but some recent posters have started to acknowledge his achievements.
Now we know that he likes to have players to work with that he knows...
And Leeds thought enough of him to make an offer he almost couldn't refuse...........
And he doesn't live in Bristol...................
Go away thoughts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't get caught up in all the euphoria when the new owners arrived. Of course I'm grateful to them as they enabled the club to continue and have tarted up the Mem and enabled DC to bring some young and cheap players to the club. I go along with the old adage that if something seems to good to be true it probably is. All the glad handing, being carried shoulder high down the street and inviting Points West to travel abroad left me cold. I might change my opinion when I hear concrete (excuse the pun) news about the training ground and stadium; when we keep our best players; and when we attract players significantly better than those we have. Evolution rather than Revolution is all well and good, but evolution took us as a race millions of years to get where we are now, and to the cynic could appear as a rational for spending little!
