Ashton Gate is a notorious graveyard for strikers. If he didn't score in his first couple of games they'd be baying for blood.

Sometimes it all seems like that BBC promo for paying the licence fee. Who will get to keep the CDs?

He'll be able to time his runs to perfection.

I was pleased to see Ryan Broome given a run out today. He did what Moore seemed unable to do, I.e. Beat his fullback and fire in a decent cross. I'm afraid Moore didn't do much, including gifting them their 3rd goal, and he would be another I would be moving on in the summer. God knows why but Moore was asked to play at full back behind James, so it's hard to criticise him for getting caught with the ball although it looked a foul to me anyway. Incredible.................the one thing Moore can't do is tackle. He has trickery and quite a good footballing brain, but he always shirks 50/50 tackles. I wasn't there today but please tell me he wasn't asked to defend!!!!!!

Perhaps the club needs to look again at who coaches the defence. If it's Steve Yates it's no good saying that he's Rovers through and through, that he wears his heart on his sleeve during matches from the dugout, that pre-match warm-ups look good. Something is obviously wrong, and the answer lies somewhere between poor coaching, poor/inconsistent selection and players just not being good enough.

Broom has been playing RB in recent games for the 'Reserve' team. He has played well in defence and has good pace in making overlapping runs down the wing. You're not suggesting Broom, becomes a right back are you p49! ? Shades of McGhee there ! When I first saw Broom playing for youth teams a few years ago he often played LB/LM. In the recent 'Reserve' matches Broom has been RB with Little switching across to LB; almost as if both were on trial..one to go and one to keep. If Greenslade stays around then Broom and he could be seen as cover for the FB roles.

...but if Leadbitter is injured then Clarke will be RB, and yes Partington can play RB or CB - but for goodness sake does that give us that experience and organisation and communication we need at the centre of defence? ................. and 3 players who can play RB I think we'll be fine for 20 games. Broom has been playing RB in recent games for the 'Reserve' team. He has played well in defence and has good pace in making overlapping runs down the wing.

Gary Kenneth on the pitch. Does that count, surely his position was anywhere else. And Derek Riordan. On a serious note i recall our winger Tony Pounder playing up front against Swindon and ripping them apart. A successful move out of position First seen Kenneth i think was Louis carey testimonial down Ashton gate the size of the guy was embarrassing think he lasted about 20 minutes. I was speechless when he lumbered onto the pitch. He looked like two Ian Dowie's welded into one!

So Greenslade, Broom, Kilgour and Lucas may be in DC's plans.

Looks like we've signed a back-up 'keeper for Puddy....they call it competition for places! I now expect Puddy to start v Walsall, with the new lad 'breathing down his neck'.

GK is such an important position that perhaps we shouldn't be looking for a Championship reserve, out of contract GK or repeat loanee but splashing a bit of cash in the expectation that we can tick that selection box for a few seasons to come. Offer Walsall 100k for Etheridge (as a starting figure)!

Every player who hauled us out of the Conference and then out of League 2 deserves our gratitude and respect, and that includes Gosling.....and Puddy.

I don't know why but he looks like a cb. Very articulate.
Edit - I think we missed a trick not offering Lawrence or Gosling (or both!) in the deal though.
Perhaps we did!
