Do you think we should get rid of Southgate before the world Cup next year? I think he's done well at bringing the team closer together but has took us as far as he is capable. Some of his decision making and tactics, I just don't understand. I don't think he's strong enough or believes enough, just generally too negative, also he seems to restrict our players too much so they can't play how they will for their clubs, and think it's time to move on. Perhaps you don’t understand because you don’t know enough about football, let alone coaching in the international game, the whole England DNA concept, counteracting the strengths of your opponent, exposing the weak aspects of your opponent (not many in international football), or maybe you are far too much of a layperson/armchair manager to be anything like qualified enough to say such insulting words about football professionals at the peak of the game? Qualified top of the group, nil goals conceded, not the best Germany of recent decades in the 16’s and a very young squad nowhere near their prime years achieving all that! You don’t win tournaments playing entertaining football, you do it playing effective football.

Only thing that troubles me about this is the fact it’s at crown court, probably because of his previous. If it was at a magistrates it would be a lighter deal IMO. Yes, I'm no expert but I believe with these 'either or' offences if it goes to crown court it's in part because the likely sentence (if found guilty) exceeds the six month limit at magistrates courts If this is trialable either way, then initially the defendant elects Mags or Crown at the initial plea hearing in the Mags. If the defendant elects Mags then the Magistrate decides whether they accept the case or whether they pass it up to Crown. If found guilty Crown can pass heavier sentence. I haven’t followed JB’s case but either he elected Crown or the Mags passed it up to Crown. Advantage of Crown is usually greater accuracy of law and procedure being observed. Downside is if found guilty. If he elected Crown, his legal team must know what they are doing

Lambert would still control the ball, shoot on target, hold it up , win headers and pass the ball much better than Hanlan. Most importantly wouldn't have missed chances from the edge of the box by side footing the ball straight at the keeper. Hanlan is not a center forward imo and relying on him to be one, especially on his own at times, was a mistake. I hope we play him where he can show his strengths, using his pace and dribbling skills out wide. But its not like he can pass either? He just runs a lot. That's it. Edit: Sorry - and falls over a lot. Next time I'm being flippant I'll give you a warning

Going back to the op, you can read stats the way you want them to read. One way to read it is a forward losing the ball that many times, could be a forward isolated up front cut adrift of support from a partner striker if he’s lucky to have one or the midfield and having long hopeful passes fired at him. Sometimes a player is sh** because everyone else around him is sh**. I mean alternatively one could also use their own eyes, and see that the ball bounces off him like his feet are shaped like 50ps. If anything I'm surprised the numbers are as low as they are. It's like watching bambi on ice. I speak as I find. Rickie would have looked half the player with that sh**e around him

So Chris Lines has stated that he would love to come back... at 35 reckon he could do it for us still? I mean he would be a great first receiver when playing out and those passes into the channels for our players with pace and skill... Reminder of what he can do: Thoughts? Yes, get the deal done Next...

I think these premier league academies should be prevented from continuing development squads after u18's. The evidence is all there that if they have a player who is going to break into the first team squad then they know buy the time that player hits 18.
From 18-23, these young players are wasting their time when they could be out there in the Football League, rather than their only purpose being to provide a squad for the one or two serious prospects to play and train with.

Obviously a few more I would like to see added to the released list but I understand our hands are tied. Who knows a couple of them may surprise us, knuckle down and find some form next year. Is that wishful thinking? And it’s worth noting that a player’s form can be affected by those around him, good and bad. Look at Alfie with and without Tony Craig. A good team is about partnerships not individuals.

Question is, how many contracted players have been told they can find another club?

Leahy has given a few goals away but nowhere near what those three have. FACT! Typical brainless response from somebody who doesn't understand football. The majority of goals conceded this season have come from players strolling down our left side unimpeded. FACT! This could get interesting...

I was very much pro-Joey before his appointment. None of this predecessors took us into the relegation zone and I’m convinced we had good enough players to stay up. Some recent statements “Some of these players wouldn’t get in a school side” “Alleged strikers” “Worst team I’ve ever been involved with” Etc etc. To me there’s certain ways you go about doing things and ostracising individuals and being plain rude shows a complete lack of class. I don’t mind calling a spade a spade but I feel he’s pointing fingers at previous managers and current players when in truth he’s been the worst performing manager we’ve had in my lifetime that I can remember. I’ve renewed my season ticket and til be there in august but jury now well and truly out. UTG have a good summer folks. This! And to what degree has his public slating of players added to lack of performance or confidence? To what degree has Barton‘s man management driven us down.? Yes Garner and Mr 100% were largely responsible for setting us on this path, but we will never know if Garner or Tisdale come to that would have taken us down. BUT, no matter what you think about your players, that stays in the changing room and training ground. You stay professional and don’t destroy young players in public.

The whole ifollow thing is amateurish and I hope I never watch a Rovers game on there again, the only saving grace was when Manse or Byron were giving analysis. Rather have the Radio Bristol commentary I'd sooner it be amateurish than revert back to just listening to games on R Bristol or, worse it, waiting for the scores to update on Teletext! I would rather have watched this squad on Teletext!!

No, Eastville was a dump and it wasn’t ours.
The Mem IMO is a better place to watch games, closer to the pitch and it’s ours.
