Me, the Mrs, Charlie age 6 and Isabelle age 9 just got home from a long night in a local pub. We were the only ones interested in the game but Irene was sung loud and proud at the end. We all went mental when Linesey scored. We are now planning our trip to London.
Just wanna say to DC and the players massive thanks for the joy you keep bringing to my family.
And to the forumers who moan about this and that all the fookin time.....wind your necks in and see the bigger picture. Eg stop digging out errors and SUPPORT come what may. DC sees the mistakes and just needs our patience.
40 years in supporting Rovers and these times are as good as I've known so let's enjoy the ride.
See you at the Bridge

This is correct and has been confirmed by BRFC club secretay.
When the next annoucemnet is made, it will include the info about Easter.
So it's just Ollie Clark, Chris Lines and Matty Taylor and I am now of the opinion that all three will be at the training ground when training starts on Thursday week. They just announced Ollie

News each day of players signing new contracts, or leaving, or new signings. Even on Saturday and Sunday. Someone behind the scenes has chosen to do it this way, and personally I am loving it. Keep checking twitter on the hour but today they did me with a half past the hour announcement.
4 more to announce, plus some signings maybe and we will be through June and then pre season and friendlies. Plus fixtures on Wed.

I figure there are still 8 out of contract players for us to hear about. Totally trust DC's judgement but here is my view
Matter Taylor ......think he will go elsewhere personally but would love him to stay. Probably be one of the last ones we here about.
Montana....... personally I'm a bit indifferent if he stays
Gosling......thinking he might be one to keep as I reckon he has something about him
O Clarke........ difficult one as hes local boy but not convinced he is going to be up to next level
Lines......want him to stay
Easter.......I'm a fan, but would understand if he doesn't stay
Puddy.....let him go I think
Harrison......I really don't know on this one. Toss of a coin decision based on who we could have instead.
Anyway I'm enjoying the drip feed of news which will hopefully lead into some new signings news, then friendlies and then away we go again.

Think some comments on here are a bit disrespectful and arrogant towards Stanley, mostly cos they have few fans. They have done brilliantly to be where they are. They took about a third of their home crowd away yesterday, similar to us and Oxford. They have a small following but so what? Probably a bigger proportion of their town support them than can be said for us. And considering their location it would be easy to support more successful sides. Burton, Accrington and Leicester are examples of why football allows us all to live in hope. I desperately want them to fail next week but if they don't then a massive well done to them. UTG

Good numbers there today. Impressive.
Like their ground...old school.
Ballsy management to change it so early but it made a big difference. (Sure some folk will seek to criticise DC in some way for having to change it but hey ho). Don't think anyone was great today but we did have some players who are comfortable with the ball....Bodin has skills which don't always come off, Easter looks good but not quite really good. Lawrence looks like he knows what to do but looks a little chunky (my Mrs words BTW). Really enjoyed the day and the match and can't find it in me to be down although clearly others can having just scanned the match day thread. I'm loving DCs work, his methods, his output and I personally feel glad to have him. Enough to not judge him constantly.
I don't know how things are going to end this season but at the start I wanted a play off push. Had that so happy. Would obviously love automatic or Wembley win but if we don't get either I do worry about the fickleness of some of our fans.
Anyway one game at a time. Bring on the Crawley.

We just had a family meeting and the only agenda item was passed unanimously. 4 more heading to Carlisle in the morning. The 6 year olds only condition was a McDonald's stop on the way.

I moved around quite a bit as a kid. My Dad apparently took me first to Bolton and then Dumbarton but I don't remember. When I was 9 we moved to Yate. He took me to City who were playing Villa in the top league. We went on a terrace next to villa fans. It was crowded and when city scored I got squashed and then coins rained down from the villa fans. It was scary. I didn't enjoy it. The following week he took me to Eastville where we sat in seats and the crowd was much smaller. It felt safer and enjoyable. I was hooked. Started going alone on the bus from yate and my main eastville memories are the Monte Carlo cafe, the NF paper sellers, being caught up in bother at a city game and being terrified, and a Trevor Morgan hatrick against Leicester (I think). Moved away from Yate when I was 13 and have lived all over since but have followed rovers ever since......37 years now, 75 away grounds and I don't think I have ever regretted my choice. UTG

Where does this Wimbledon 1 loss in 22 rubbish come from? They have lost twice in the last 13. (Yeovil and Oxford). Whoops....got that bit wrong then. Still a difficult game though and a win would put us in a great position.

If we win on Tuesday.... Which will be hard given their great run of 1 loss in 22..….we will be 6 points off second place with 11 games to go! Wow!!
Accrington play Pompey on Tuesday then Plymouth on Saturday. So someone out of those 3 is dropping points this week.
Ideally by 5pm next weekend we could be well ensconsed in the playoff zone within touching distance of autos with 10 to go.

Thanks for the report as always. But what's with calling Notts County Nottingham? That's as bad as when we get called just Bristol.

At the start of the season my hope was playoffs.... Not necessarily winning them. My expectations were to have a good go at getting in playoffs. Think we have collectively got ahead of ourselves as we can sniff top 3. So for me we are on track for delivering to my expectations. I figure even if we lose a few over the next few weeks and drop down the table a bit we will still be achieving / on track in line with my expectations. Go DC. UTG

In my work life I have a formal half year and annual assessment of my performance. I am measured on what I achieve and how I have behaved to deliver those achievements. I have weekly meetings with my boss to discuss how it's going and sometimes talk to him several times a day outside these meetings. But it is the 6 monthly reviews that determine my rating and pay.
I, as a supporter apply similar principles to DC, and previous managers. I try not to react on a daily / weekly basis to how we are doing but consider where we are at the turn of the year and the end of the season. I find this allows perspective and less emotional reactions. As an outsider to the daily goings on within the club / team I don't feel I can judge his weekly team selections too much ( I have no idea of injuries / personal problems of players etc). My view is that I am going to support DC wholeheartedly until he actually fails for a whole "half year" period, or maybe a full year.
So so with my perspective explained I would say that last year DC had a good 1st half year and a great 2nd half. He achieved the objective set. In terms of the how he did that I respected his words ( I.e. When he spoke about games it felt like he had watched the same game as me which is always nice) and felt tactically he was always learning and adapting. If I was grading him then he got an A.......an A+ would have required winning the conference.
As for this season, the objective in my mind and the beginning of the season was to make the playoffs. I had no objectives about the cups. So with 6 weeks to go till the new year it could go either way in terms of are we on track to make the playoffs and I make my first judgement. I'm indifferent to us losing in the cups, they are very much icing on a cake if they work out.
I did want to write this post before today's game but didn't manage it......so today's result does not change how I feel. I would have felt the same about DC.
I still feel the joy of winning when it happens and the misery when we lose but I do wish more people would look at our manager in the round.
I have written this thread partly after reading some ridiculous over the top posts in the last couple of weeks including calling for DC to be sacked. And don't get me started on the TBones and Joey Bs of this world who are obsessed with repeating a single point of view over and over......have your view by all means but enough already.
Anyway there you go.

"We have 3 of our starrting XI injured. We didn't call it off?" "comical! Some people have bought train tickets, are you and your cuntish team gunna reimburse them?" "Silly farmers. International call ups? Yeah for teams where the squads practically disabled. Pointless." "great, booked train tickets aswell FFS, SAME OLD BRISTOL..." " Ik I don't really care it's postponed but at short notice? Thought it was a bit senseless to me.." "we at @wwfcofficial have had our Captain injured for a few weeks. Do we get to replay those games then?" Loving this. Farmers?? Am I wrong or is Bristol one of the biggest cities in England? Call me reckless to state this without checking, but it could even be bigger than Wycombe. Excuse me but as a non Bristolian gashead I can confirm the brizzle accent is a proper "farmers" accent. UTG

Let me make clear I know nothing other than that which I have read on the internet. But having followed Rovers for 35years and got used to us being rubbish, visited 88 grounds with rovers but not many of the major clubs, had only 3 good years really. But today I am overly excited at the prospect of our club / team suddenly potentially becoming good.... new ground (although I will hate not standing) investment in players professional owners who know how to market the club, and harness the potential of a large fan base/ catchment area a climb up the leagues (yes I said leagues plural) chance to visit the big clubs I am missing from my list Right at this moment I know it all may come to nothing, or lead to disaster but I don't care. the dream we have as fans could become true. so excited.......I could dance UTG

Blimey. How long can this debate continue.
Dawson wore gloves when we played at Gateshead last year. He was the only one. For me that would merit not signing him. End of.
You sure about the points per game as 1.51??? as that would mean 77 points
I think your right, I got it wrong. It's 1.98 pts per game. Even better.
