As I get on in years, my memory often lets me down, but I seem to recall a match a Twerton (Liverpool perhaps) where Dean "Cheating Barsteward" Windass tried and eventually suceeded in getting Ian "Jock" Alexander sent off? Cant stand the guy. Can't think of any good reason any GasHead would want to help out. After all Karmaa is a biatch.

Should our capacity match or beat that sack of sh** Labsdowns Bristol Sport project, doesn't the fact ours is spanking new and built out of town centre deliver a significant commercial advantage? For some things yes, and the fact it's by a uni means we can do student nights practically every night in the bar and make a mint. But city must be making a fair amount out of their new bar which has huge screens - the location probably benefits them in that regard but as long as we attract students galore to ours we should compete Have to shoot that idea down in flames, as the students have their own huge brand new student union bar, (which hold all sorts of promos for them) with cafe, right next to all their brand new student flats on campus.

So if we have 950 ish tickets for the rearranged game, all in the Arkell stand, and Swindon have fixed policing and stewarding costs for this, what would happen if 3000+ rovers fans turn up? Would the police insist on opening the open end to get the fans in, or would they import more police to run the extra fans out of town? either way, their d1ckhead of a chairman looses. Face and money. Lets get 3000+ there, with or without tickets.

My choice is not to attend any U23/has-beens teams we will play against, will ensure my money gets to the club. Its also about time the new sponsors were also put under pressure. Checkatrade would soon withdraw, if they receive many thousands of emails.

Leaving Bristol about 2:30 will be stopping in Reading services for a "comfort break" some food and a drink, before doing battle with the congestion charge, rush hour traffic, road closures near the ground, before parking in the club before 6pm, woah. What's everyone else doing?

Be well showered, as you will be tightly packed in on Sunday, but don't expect anyone else to be. Old footballing trick, put a tiny dollop of Vicks just inside your nose, so at least you won't be offended by BO.

What most fail to realise - with regard to "splashing the cash" is that just about ALL the squad players will have had an uplift in salary, which I imagine could be quite a considerable total, plus all the incremental improvements in staff, stands, scoreboards etc.
Just a quick question as an aside, do players renewing their contracts get a "signing on" fee? I assume their agents will still want paying?

So what will the players be wearing for the 2 big home friendlies against Swansea and Villa? Surely not those cobbled together T shirts? Does make a statement - unfortunately the wrong one! The grey hooped and flourescent yellow training kit would be better.

My thoughts that it may be rather busy in some areas of the ground. When my daughter was 2, we used to attach an extendable dog lead to her harness, so she could move around and meet people, but still remain attached and under control, This was at Twerton.

The Taylor report is fundamentally flawed, in the main, overcrowding in two sections was the biggest problem, along with all the other things like poor policing, wrong ground for the game, allocation of ends etc etc. Nowhere in the Taylor report does it state that Standing was the issue. The "All seater" stadia comes about by the general way fans were treated at that time in history.
In my opinion Seating rails should be safer than seating, as every row has a crush rail (at a reasonable height) on it stopping any surges, seating only has the backs of other seats, and they are so low it is easy to topple forwards over the seating in front.
