Celtic secure green light for rail seatingI know its the SFA that approved this for Celtic, but does anyone think this can be a catalyst for Rovers to pile pressure on the FA for Safe Standing in a new stadium? I am all for plenty of seating for those that want it, but I'm a die-hard stander, I feel the atmosphere in a ground is always better when people stand, can sing louder, easier to stand with your mates etc. Otherwise you all have to buy season tickets at the same time to be seated next to each other. Your thoughts? Picture of Safe Standing "Rail Seats"

Just to add 1 other thing to this debacleate: If flares are banned from grounds, how come at internationals it's ok for organisers to set off those bloody giant flame throwers? heh? Double standards methinks.

What ideas do you have, that could be implemented in a new stadium, that could set us apart from everyone else, and have impact?
I would like at least one side of the ground be "free seating" where if you buy a ticket or have a season ticket you aren't tied to one particular seat. That way you and your mates can still buy season tickets/pay on the day and still be able to congregate together.
I would also like to see us try to tap into some of the large organisations in Bristol, by maybe offering certain matches as offers to the orgs employees, try to tap into MoD >10000 people, UWE>35000 Bristol Uni >30000 HP, BAE, Airbus etc etc
Any others?

Or you could join the Supporters Club and get your pint in the other bar, where here are hardly any queues? You can always bring your pint back into the non-Supporters Club bar to drink with your mates.

I believe Rovers should also have a NUS (National Union of Students) category, with over 50000 possible university students in the city. Of which nearly 20000 are current UWE students refreshed each year with another 5000+ students. What an easy way to gain potential lifelong fans, or just the floating fan that wishes to see an occasional game. No brainer for me.

These are my thoughts, and reflect no elses opinions:
1 Seems to me that perhaps the land is wanted to be purchased not leased. This would make business sense. 2 the local plan (South Gloucs) includes the need for a stadium. So why try to go elsewhere and bin all that goodwill? 3 UWE do not need a football stadium. So they can negotiate from a position of strength. 4 the local plan also has permission for a fairly large hotel. Perhaps WAQ being in tourism, may want to do this too? 5 UWE already have a massive conference centre, there is no need or requirement to develop another one. 6 Court case needs to be decided first. Maybe Shamesbury's will be held to account to pay for the deal, and therefore hold the ownership of the land at the Mem.

Gaffney stopped off for a coffee on the way down, not realizing the club said they would have news this morning, so he arrived a bit later than planned, patience my little ones.

7 league goals in 16 league matches. If that average is continued, it will put him at 20 goals for the season. Bearing in mind that isn't 16 full games. Wouldn't just about every club want a 20 goal a season striker? Seems to me, he is doing his job, and doing it well.

No, having sold one car park, they desperately need another. It is just a car park.
