Update Twerton. Make it a half decent 10,000-er. That wouldn't cost too much. Then go there for a year or two, while we redevelop the Mem. Update Twerton = Madness Redevelop the Mem = More madness

Totally agree with Notts -- But surely some of these players should have been signed already. Why does it always take Rovers so long. When I say signed already I mean a goalkeeper ( and not on a trial basis ) and a centre back where we,ve known for some time we have problems.

I am in total agreement with Gasincider. The fans were totally conned yesterday. I always thought it was best to at least play your best team -- What he put out we would have struggled in the Southern league. Pity he didn't let people know earlier I would have saved myself £70.00. Some people are saying perhaps Clark is being very clever whils't i'm thinking has he reached his limit? You cannot hope to compete without the calibre of Taylor,Bodin & Lines and we didn't.

So much of this thread is hilarious especially the mammoth effort by Gregory Stephens. Were you there yesterday Greg? Let me tell that in the two pubs I went in, the consensus was we've come to a reserve game, and DC has lost the plot. You may not like to hear that, but it's what was being spoken of by the people that bothered to go and support the team. The selection was a bloody nonsense, and it now seems that science has taken over team selection, so perhaps we don't need a manager. I assume it is therefore Dubey who now picks the team, and he sure as hell was the guy behind bringing in our new keeper. Perhaps we therefore have a new manager but he just hasn't been confirmed yet. As for Charlton, someone said they are a good side. Wake up and smell the coffee. Discount our two gimme games to them and see where they are. Not one of the last four teams we have played away to are any good, but we lost to all four of them, two will probably go down and the other two will be mid table. But we have given all of them major boosts because DC still doesn't know who his best team are. Two of the players left out yesterday smiled and raised eyebrows when we asked them why they were out. One then said 'well, that's how it is'. When Easter, who at least tried was substituted, he had a drink and then smashed his drink bottle into the dugout, so he wasn't best pleased. If the reason for all this is because he is trying to keep a happy squad, then that is crap. His job is to try and win each game, and he will not succeed at this level unless he plays his best team, and he sure as hell won't get this level of away support again if we have to wonder if we will be watching a reserve game. I disagree with this. His job is to try and finish as high as possible in each season. Would we have had our incredibly good run in at the end of the last two season and achieved promotion without DC's tinkering? We will never know, but I don't think it is a coincidence. Playing two games in 48 hours is a massive ask for any player, no matter how young or fit they are. One of the four outfield players who did this picked up an injury. Would he have got this injury had it not been his second game in 48 hours? Again, we will never know. I didn't go yesterday so I am not as frustrated as the people who went and spent their hard-earned money are. i salute you for that and I understand the frustration when you do this and the performance is p1sspoor. However, I think people need to look at the bigger picture rather than one 90 minutes of football. DC didn't select that team yesterday thinking they would play poorly and lose 4-1, but he maybe did have the whole season in mind rather than just one game. People suggesting that he should pick his strongest XI every game is just ludicrous, no team in the world does that and there is a reason for that. UTG!

Cannot believe what happened yesterday. We lost the game before it started -- How come we made 6 changes from sat Clarke got it totally wrong and in my view the 1500 + fans that went were let down. If I could i'd have my money back. Even our chairman was surprised at the line up. Never been so watered off after a game in all my life and I was at the famous Tottenham 9-0. I'm not going to slate individual players but most of them yesterday were out of there depth. Nice ground though.

might struggle. A lot extra (family visitors etc) come for Boxing day matches and we haven't had one for a while I think. BTW - Nice they changed it to pay on the day but I wonder if the club will refund the extra £2 they charge when it's All Ticket? More chance of Lambert returning in January than that happening!! As even the admin of doing it would be a nightmare let alone the cost to the club. I think we'll be lucky to hit 10K as we've already lost 500+ away fans from Monday's gate of 11,200. Surely Wimbledon will bring as many if not more.

I watch a hell of a lot of football in many different divisions and I can't think of one successful side that plays the diamond. Why the **** do they play it then??? We need Sincs & Clark in midfield as w/o them we get over run, we all said similar before the Charlton game and we all know how that ended. Although if you do go for the diamond surely you needs Leads to give us width down the right wing? All three of the players you have just mentioned are simply not good enough for this division. In my opinion anyway.

I agree he is a massive player for us,but what some think we will get for him is unrealistic we will be lucky if we get 1m A lot of championship defenders will have him in their pocket, hope I'm wrong and it will be with us scoring in the championship soon Still think we're 4 or 5 players short and challenging for top 2 I think your being kind when you state only 4 or 5 players. In my opinion only Lines, Taylor & perhaps Lockyer are good enough to make the step up. If we ever get there it is certainly going to be expensive ( transfers )to stay there.

Not sure or care what he said. This guy stitched us up big time. He was a complete joke and used this club in order to go after other things. The only manager in our history to make Paul Buckle look good.

Also depends which loanees go back to their respective clubs. I wish for another taller striker to play up front with Taylor. A bit like ( Smash & Grab ). The guy from Wimbledon would be a good purchase. I,ve lost all confidence in Ellis and can only see him as an impact player at best.
So for me only one signing in Jan if we keep everyone else. Think the summer is when we are going to see a lot of movement both incoming & outgoing.

Swansea wont lend us any more if we don't play them, we already splintered McBurnies arse, now this one has gone AWOL. I dont see the point in loan signings unless they improve the first XI. But signing him has improved the first team squad -- Which no doubt during the season will be totally used.

I still cannot believe anyone still wants us to re-build the Mem. And for those saying we only need a 15000 capacity -- What short sightedness. The ground as it is is awful and possibly wouldn't be much better as a rebuild -- Its had its day we need to go forward.

Sooner have a squad on the large side than a squad which is too small. Whils't it looks possibly on the big side at present wait till the injuries & suspensions kick in and i'm sure you will agree with what the club has done. I think as Rovers supporters we are extremely lucky our new owners have had the foresight to deal with any impending problems that may/could arise down the line. A lot of third div supporters of other clubs will not be so lucky.

I want two quality midfielders. ( what happened to the guy we were after that went to Brighton ? )I honestly believe the forwards are sorted and so are the backs now after securing Roberts services. It is definitely in midfield where we lack quality. Also believe we will need to pay at least one transfer fee with the other being a loan.Hopefully DC sees it this way also.

Still feeling a little watered off at not being able to get tickets for this match. I telephoned at 3.45pm yesterday (pirate leisure ) asking to purchase one ticket stating I am a season ticket holder and the reply was "everyone is a season ticket holder and you'll have to come in person " Well as I live 40 miles away I stated we were leaving at 5.30 for the game and was told on arrival all tickets had gone. But to my dismay my mates had successfully purchased over the phone that same day. ( they also come from a similar area to me ). The thing that has watered me off is why they were allowed to purchase over the phone and not myself ? If anyone does have a ticket that cannot be used for any reason I would be interested in purchasing it but only for the price it originally sold for. I am certainly not going to line anyones pocket. I've got one for £240 if you are interested. I don't think my Mrs is fussed about the match! £239.50 is my limit £240.00 is too bloody expensive. As I stated i'm not about to be ripped off.
