Not speaking from any position of knowledge or experience at all, but given the make up of our home kit - I'd have guessed it'd be one of the higher contrast kits so less likely to clash. An old pal of mine used to struggle with reds, greens and browns looking similar to him so assume our dark and white would be ok. Obviously happy to be corrected by anyone with some knowledge of visual impairments.

Don't points 1 & 3 contradict themselves, as if the case isn't dropped then a hearing will still have to take place? I'm not sure the FA/EFL can suddenly being in rule for DA cases unless they bring in a rule that any manager or player is suspended if charged with any criminal offence. It's fortunate for us they haven't or we'd probably be facing another season in L2. Surely a rule exists based on the severity of any charges? Or it certainly should. We've seen with Giggs, Mendy, Greenwood, Sigurdsson that clubs can act if they choose. Another year in L2 doesn't feel important compared to the club doing the right thing - I'm sure any one of us would be suspended from our jobs in Barton's case.

2. There should be more consistency between clubs around how these matters are dealt with. People like myself who felt he should have been suspended had seen many others clubs and the Welsh FA act in this way in similar circumstances. Surely there should be a standard response as that protects all involved. The Welsh FA acted immediately, and Man Utd who suspended Greenwood as soon as that horrible audio came out - though I'm not comparing that to Barton's case. I still can't believe he wasn't suspended, but then the club knew what a powder keg they were appointing so I suppose they were always waiting for the next "thing". Ps. Sorry to hear about your old man.

Whatever the outcome of this court case, imo JB will still be manager of our club at the start of the next season. Nope, Wael's said if he's found guilty then he's gone.
if he’s had a drink fuelled bust up with his wife, that both now regret, that’s his and her business not mine and I would suggest no one else’s I would suggest it's the police's business and the business of the courts

This whole footballing nationality thing is far more complex than it needs to be or should be. What's on your bloody passport? That should be it. I'm not sure it's that simple - what would you do with places like Kosovo who only had a football team from 2014, and a lot of their team are Serbian and Albanian. Plus people like British legend Mo Farah, who's Somali or players like John Barnes who's Jamaican. Big old can of worms, this. I'm eligible to represent China despite never having been anywhere near there 😅

And what's the first things I read? Jobs were far easier to get (yes, at two ha'pence a week) and society was 'more liberal'. That's a joke. I remember an anecdote about two soldiers taking off their belts and beating the **** out of a gay guy. Does that sound "liberal"? The 50s were grey. That's what spawned the Beatles and Stones - we had to do it for ourselves, it wasn't laid on. No gap years, no touring the world, very few went to University. Oh yeah, we had it easy. House prices (3 times annual salary compared to 11 times annual salary) pensions , free university education , etc etc . 🙄 Fair play to him for going down swinging. Ignoring the huge amounts of families struggling to feed and heat their places, let alone buy their own. Yep, tell me more of your struggle when you bought a house for £10k and had a job for life straight out of school.

Probably missed being looked after more like 😂. This happens more than is let on. Lots drop out because they have no independent life skill set Typical students think the world and parents owe them a living. My grandfather was up a chimney at 12 and serving in army fighing the hun in the Battle of the Somme at 17. Kids of today don't know what generations of people did to give them freedom and an education. Cheers for the swooping generalisations, granddad 🙄

Everton is your club but you’re posting on a rovers forum….odd There's loads of posters who talk about having an affinity to other clubs, nothing to see here.

Why not enable the pre-purchase of beer tickets before/during the game? Then have one side or an area of the bar for collections with a valid ticket. This will offer visibility of sales performance, speed up transactions and reduce the chaos at half time/full time. Not sure there's any point in this from next year when we're cashless - as it's people faffing with notes and change that slows it all down. It was hard enough to convince our fans to buy tickets in advance, there's zero chance they're going to go for some tourist-style Matchday Experience bundle in the velvet rope area. Also, knowing Rovers they'd get half the orders wrong, some of the stewards would let people in who didn't have the right access, or punters would just moan about elitism and complain about modern football in any case!

Couldn’t care less, same with politicians, do your job, and if you want to pop a satsuma in your mouth and ladies tights on your head and partly choke yourself doesn’t matter to me, let’s keep unicorns and multicoloured sprinkles out of Gas forums UTG "Couldn't care less", then write a really bizarre sentence about what you consider life in the LGBTQ+ community is. I'd suggest educating yourself. Gays are people too, some of them even like to play football!

I’ve always thought they should take away the champions league spot for finishing 4th in the Prem and give it to the FA Cup winners instead. Would make it much more exciting. It wouldn't because you'd lose the prospect of upsets - PL teams would take it more seriously and not rotate. Plus how is it fair when you only need to win a handful of games rather than be consistent all season.

As someone too young to know, I've always assumed it was because the FA Cup final was one of very few matches shown live on free-to-air telly, so people were excited to see the top players.
Now you can't move for PL content and as people have said, same group of teams seem to always win

Are you going to give credit where it's due? He won't do that he is to much of a "whopper" for that Ah that's the spirit. Differing opinions so resort to insults

Like him or loathe him the club has just played the best football I’ve ever seen and won promotion in one of the the most dramatic fashions The history of football has ever seen. The club is better ran and more professional now off the field than it’s ever been in it’s history. So using the word nonsense for still wanting him to leave or not being bothered either way is 100% the correct term to use. Long may he stay at our club and have us watch the football we have just watched and the atmosphere home and away. Enjoy it while it lasts as he will move onto a much bigger club than the gas before too long. Just because you don't like the idea of something, that doesn't make it nonsense. I don't like the thought of people having to choose between eating or heating their home - but I can't call it nonsense as it's happening. Not sure you can credit Barton with the work Wael & Gorringe do to improve our more professional off-the-field stuff either.

I very much enjoyed the last GasCast episode where a historic tweet was read to one of the presenters where he was calling for JB to go back in Christmas. He was pressed to apologise for it and said " if you can’t call for your manager's head after being relegated bottom of the league ten points from safety, then find yourself 17th at Christmas with Brett Pitman leading a high press in a 3-4-3 then when can you?" No need to apologise for having an evidence-based opinion. It is also worth noting that a lot of the negativity to Barton from our fanbase was not necessarily rooted around the footballing side of his involvement with the club. Something which probably won't have changed just by us playing well and being successful on the pitch... Your last point. There will no doubt be people who still feel uncomfortable with JBs track record and recent negative press. What we have seen though is that playing well and winning games does change the general negativity around JB. Conversely, there are some of us who won't forget why have formed our opinions on Barton the individual because we've won a few games. When people wanted him gone because of the results and his string of weird comments, that was separate from those who have never wanted him here. People were negative about Garner & Tisdale too, as Sleepy says - you're allowed to change an opinion when presented with new evidence. To say it's being fickle seems reductionist.

As articulate as this post was; it does sometimes help when dismissing someone's opinion as nonsense to offer some justification as to why you think that is. It helps for the original poster to then address your argument with a counter argument or, ultimately, concede to your point. Hi Sleepy, that isn't how this place works. If someone has an opinion that is slightly opposed to that of the Barton cult fans they just dismiss it out of hand. I'm surprised you haven't been called a 'ted or a keyboard warrior - they're the ones usually aimed at me. I can see how this job would be appealing. Plus he's (at best) evened out the damage he did here, inspiring us to a 24th place finish with such a whimper, so he could leave and we're no worse off than when we arrived.

Don't we only need to match their GD as we have more goals scored and it goes on that next. This is taken from the EFL (yes I'm that sad) Well we're not going to go up on Fair Play are we?!😅

If there is evidence on one of our analyst cameras, could show their player pushing Coutts and his retaliation wasn't as bad as first thought and the ref maybe should have giving a yellow to both players instead of a straight red. But equally could show that he's bang to rights and a red was the correct decision. If even Barton thinks it was violent conduct then it must've been bad!

It literally doesn't matter a jot who's the nominal captain for the day. It's a weird obsession that some English fans have, never understood why people place any importance on it at all.
Does anyone seriously think a professional player changes how they perform based on whether or not they're wearing a small armband? 😂
