Merry Gasmas one and all GasHeads, wherever you are! Happy holidays to the the rest..
The rise in on pitch progress in 2022 was nothing short of a miracle.

Was that the goodbye Marcus match? His last playing performance in league?
One of the few times I've stayed way beyond the final whistle for an away team at home..

Concur with above and can't argue with o p.
We'll have to play a certain way to get the best out of JM and that might mean sacrificing our fluidity and versatility....but there is definitely a finisher in there somewhere (even though he really missed the easiest chance of a back post unmarked tap in but chose instead to pass it tamely to the defender on opposite post!🤷).
He's doing for us what he has done against us a few times in years gone by - which is nice to see - but great credit for the scouting and management team for pre-arming him up with the BG philosophy of defending, and him using his wilyness..
I've been critical in past, but fair play he's started, let's hope he continues to finish.

Madonna cheat of 1986 or Henry cheat of 2009?
I hope they both lose! 🏴

Absolutely gutted with this news as he was most of the forum's m o m player in form up with Collins the past month or so.
And to get injured in the boycott cup....?
I hope it's worth it.

From ifollow..
Belshaw 9 m o m kept us in it first half and mom by courtesy of the most consistent all through match, not a foot wrong. Matchsaver!
Thomas 6 erratic. Connolly 5 ponderous. Gibson 8 steadying force.
Sinclair 5 offered little (ironically similar to Little a few years earlier). Coutts 8 excellent skip needless booking but brilliant assist for 2nd.. McCormick 7 tried hard just didn't quite work for him. Evans 5 missed his boat but second half was inspirational. Gordon 4 poor and offered nothing. Losing patience and don't get it?
Collins 6 worked hard but not his day. Coburn 8 never stopped running and played lone striker as gleeming first half light ...
Subs: Hoole 7.5 done well to affect shape change and won his headers but almost got caught once. Marquis 8.5 super sub! Whelan nole. Gibbons nole.
Ref 7.5 no complaints. Charlton 5 should have put us to the sword, but you can see BG training by playing ball out when not comfy and subsequently paid the price.....we celebrate our tents at mem and marquis away!
Famous Gas win and credit to travelling vocal support!

Just got back...
From watching it on wireless with pictures.
Why do we start like we're still in bed and finish or play second half completely opposite?
How frustrating? (To win and play well, climb the table).
Evans looked atrocious first half by inane passes, many others did too... Second half he was winning his battles, playing further up pitch and looked an important key to unlocking Charlton.
Belly kept us in it with our ball watching, statue zombie walking dead defence... Second half he was a mere pedestrian until injury time.
Inspired sub, marquis proved to be the key by picking the BG -esque defending pocket twice ... A lovely header through ball for second, only matched by the robbing of their defender, capped a great homework and executed plan and fine finishing....well done JM and JAB for orchestrating a smash and grab win (as we surely should have been 3 down at half time) and send us into a very happy Xmas with c*ty82 losing too!
Merry Christmas, Gas..

No Rossiter?
Huh the pyrrhic victory of the boycott cup takes it's toll....one can only hope it doesn't matter, but for me (and most this forum) he's been m o m in recent matches and value his contributions....but to me in a competition that should never exist hasn't helped injury walk offs. Well done Collins for making the start. He too was doubtful Tuesday night.
I'll take a draw now based on historical (un)luck, but instincts say if we play to potential, we can do this.
Gas 2-0 win. Famous day for all travelling, safe journey.
UptheGas! COME ON YOU BLUES..

I'm on the fence re GS.
We knew the toughest test was Frog (after a comparatively easy group) and performed better than them on the night, but did we leave the match with the best we could do? Absolutely nothing else we could have tried?
I think....no.
I feel we had a chance to really open up, but his choice of subs, at the times he managed it, was again a let down and too cautious. Saka was alive, Sterling had offered not much since he was at Man C, Grealish was under used.
We're all football managers in the light of day, but I feel so disappointed and gutted because we had so much more to offer....but GS didn't utilise resource and again we cannot find a way to beat opposition that is ranked above us, no matter how the world stage lends itself to Mbappe..

If the director of ops at Arsenal was interested in signing Rollin, and they formed a relationship, potentially you could have a Garlick Menayese...
I'll get my coat. 😞
