we kept the 2007 promotion team together? That's true we did for one season and we did pretty much the same as we have this season top half and looking ok. Trollope started changing things around we started leaking goals didn't or couldn't replace Lambert and went down. We need to keep our best players and improve but one things for sure in my eyes DC is a much better manager then Paul Trollop. No we struggled in our first season back but went on a good run after Christmas and ended up 16th the next two seasons we did pretty well finishing 11th both years having lost Lambert at the beginning of 2009/10 season.

Eastleigh supporter here. Just to say nearly everyone at the club is devastated that Joe is leaving and that's not an exaggeration. My son had his name and number on his shirt for Christmas and cried when I told him the news, he is only six though. Hopefully he will settle into your team quickly and become the player we loved at our club. I would probably put him in the top three or four players we've had at the silverlake. Best of luck for the rest of the season and I hope you reach the playoffs. I think our chance has gone now. Although you never know in football. I feel your pain, my youngest thought Matty Harrold was the best player ever after chatting to him at a Pre Season Friendly, still wont acceot Matty Taylor is a better player even now! (Though he is only 9) Are you sure he isn't tbone in disguise?

Is it just me that thinks promotion would potentially be a disaster and at least a year too early? I don't know whether it is just you or not but I disagree with you. You have to take the opportunity when it comes along because there is no guarantee that it will come along the next season or the next or ever. Look at Accrington, missed out on promotion last year, battling relegation this. Equally Wimbledon got promoted, last season, favourites to go dow5 but comfortably mid table.

We were badly let down today by two Clarkss James and Ollie bloody awful in the first half should have been at home playing against conference players as this is their level just not up to it I'm afraid I know there will be much bigger clubs than us going out to lower leauge opposition but we we were so not at it today it was bloody embarrassing!! Do you know what is embarrassing? Your punctuation, or lack of! Or indeed lack thereof.....

He seems to have extended periods of inactivity where he posts nothing. He's implied in the past that he's been staying in one of the Queens finest B and Bs but no idea if that's the case or if he's even actually Scottish!!! I was never convinced that he was from up here, found all the faux Scots all a bit cringe worthy tbh.

Looks like he was offering himself for a good old bumming, unluckily for him the only bumming was happening on the pitch. Given Brighton's reputation he was probably just hoping to top up his benefit money bless him. It's actually quite enterprising really.

I thought all the Bristol sport corporate stuff was a bit sinister, I hope we never end up that way if we do go up.

There's a sentence that's never been written on a football forum before. But I do agree. Frustrating because Portsmouth is a venue that we would normally pack out with no problem, I do hope they see the error of their ways and change the format next season. Hopefully we won't be eligible for it next year!

Thought he didn't like our new ground reading the title. I don't give a stuff what their manager thinks. I suspect the op was hoping for that as he used Rossler's first name and inexplicably put in all upper case.. hmmmmmmm

Nobody "invading" Crawley or Millwall? I think we should offer both those places to North Korea to invade. Why would they want to invade a couple of places that are worse than what they've already got?

Gerry Francis squad was as committed, this one is on a par to me. How committed are you then? I think we can say that many that aren't committed certainly should be.

With crowds on the up and another promotion possible it might be we need to look at a couple of temporary stands at the Mem above the away enclosure and the home terrace on the other side of the East stand. I was thinking exactly the same, similar to the extensions to the main stand at Brunton Park Carlisle.

From today's B Post, not sure what DC means by us being 10-15 years behind, I assume Championship clubs, does that mean we have to wait another 10/15 years before we can compete on a level footing, or Wael now needs to spend big in order to close the gap quicker which is what Brighton most surely have done in the recent past? What Darrell Clarke and Wael Al-Qadi are planning to make Bristol Rovers Championship readyRead more at www.bristolpost.co.uk/what-darrell-clarke-and-wael-al-qadi-are-planning-to-make-bristol-rovers-championship-ready/story-29787184-detail/story.html#fIBq50cIA30Bsm8Y.99First-team manager Darrell Clarke has backed owner Wael Al-Qadi to deliver all of the infrastructure requirements to make Bristol Rovers a sustainable and competitive Championship club. Al-Qadi, who secured a deal to buy the club in February, is pressing ahead with plans to house the club in a new stadium and is also at an advanced stage in a project that would bring all of the club's teams under one roof at a new training facility in Almondsbury. Clarke, speaking at a Supporters Club forum at the Memorial Stadium on Thursday night, backed Al-Qadi to complete both projects when asked why he turned down the opportunity to take charge at Leeds United over the summer. He said: "I have sensed a bit of scepticism amongst supporters over the stadium. I can understand that because they have had to endure a lot of broken promises through the years. I wouldn't be here if I didn't believe that the new stadium and a modern training ground would not be delivered. Things are happening in the background and we have to let things run their course and take shape. We have to be patient. "I'm the sort of person who takes as I find. All I can say about the president is that he has never once turned me down whenever I have asked him for something. "He's allowed me to build a very professional backroom staff and has made money available for players. Read more: Bristol Rovers set out plans for when they want to relocate to proposed new training base "But money doesn't automatically buy you success and I'd rather that the money was put towards improving our infrastructure. Until the training ground and stadium are delivered we will be unable to compete over a sustained period of time at the level we want to be at. "Bristol Rovers is a well-supported club but it has never been a big club behind the scenes. In terms of infrastructure we are 10 or 15 years behind and until that is addressed we won't be able to become a sustainable and established Championship football club. Witness the new training facility project and new stadium.

Sometimes certain managers are just good fits for certain team, Ediie Howe at Bournemouth for example. It seems that Darrel Clark is a good fit for us, in fact all the way through the club things seem to be fitting together nicely. We have an owner who really seems to get us, and seems to have a good rapport with the manager and we have got a group of players we can finally be proud of. I hate to jump the gun but I have to agree with the optimists, I see no reason why we can't finish top six. The difference now, compared to say the Trollope era, is that we are often the better side, I always felt before we were just squeaking games but now we are actually outplaying the opposition. You sometimes have to pinch yourself to realise it's happening but its a great feeling.

A routine win For 19th placed Bristol Rovers to routinely beat 2nd place Port Vale Shame on me for thinking we should get a win eh? I suspect his criticism of your post was based on the fact you characterised it as a ROUTINE win.
