Living here on the Costa Blanca I see many buildings which are currently being constructed include underground parking. Now I'm no civil engineer but does anyone think that it would be possible and/or cost effective to include for this in any Memorial Stadium rebuilds? The Sainsburys plan showed an underground carpark.

But we have no contract with UWE so how can it be the same?

Communication has been no existent because their is nothing to report! It has taken 18 months to almost get a head of terms to the table and almost signed! Look how quick it took to get the land for the training ground, I hope we can find a new plot for the stadium and it goes that smoothly but must be in S Glos and planning could be quicker as they want a stadium.

I don't care about UWE but the way this has been and is being handled two days before Charlton has left me feeling mugged off! The family set the date as well!

A redeveloped Mem is no better than what we have now in its potential to send us upwards. Everybody who keeps saying its a great idea, need to look beyond there being a few pubs near by. Please lets not seriously consider the Mem. Notwithstanding that the previous redevelopment was 18,500 do we know if that was constrained by an overall cap put on the capacity of the stadium by BCC or by the amount of room available? If it's the latter and we no longer need to build the student flats would that mean an increase in possible capacity to say 21,000? Could the pitch be lowered like the UWE? This would also increase the capacity. If the Sh*T can build a stand that holds 14k why can't we?

Let's not forget they apparently uncovered A very one sided agreement with the UWE and this has taken time to sort out. I am sure it will all work out! π

We have been told by the board that the funding is in place for a new stadium does this mean the price has been agreed?? They mentioned this quite a few times .

The price for the land could have already been agreed and they are just sorting out contracts for the purchase of the stadium and for the other plots they may require. They would have to sort out the contracts for the naming rights of the stadium and also for the use of any parts of the stadium the UWE would require. I would imagine this would take time but really its all pie in the sky. Just have to wait and see

Does anyone know if construction has started/finished on the car park at UWE?? Wasn't this supposed to have started in October by us?? I overheard two guys chatting about it today and one said it's started and this counts as the start of the stadium build so we don't need to reapply for planning again.

DC wants a better pitch to play his style of football on and the board has backed him and responded by the upgrade.
We host weddings and other money spinning events so cleaning the carpets would just enhance the venues.
Why the panic??? πππ

Personally I'd sooner be one of 15K fans in a 22K stadium than one of 15K in a 26K almost half empty stadium but if rumours are true we're struggling to finance even the 22K stadium, then hoping for the larger capacity one to be built doesn't seem plausible. Β The ground can be extended at anytime anyway. Can't see there being that much difference in price between the two builds though, as they were both one tier. It was if we wanted to go upto 33,000 that another tier would be added. If it's still one tier I can't see a big difference in price and it would be a lot cheaper than doing it a few years down the line, once we are already in the stadium. I think if the capacity was increased after the build it would be a referb and be liable to VAT.

The UWE site would make a great concert venue. Exactly what Pantsdown wanted on his dog walking Arena.

Thought it was a done deal and just paperwork to sort out? And now we could be going to Avonmouth. Sometimes there's more sh@t on here the OTIB! ππ It's been known for some time and mentioned on here that there are still two major issues outstanding. So why you thought it was just paperwork has me baffled. So what outstanding items are they? You seem to know a lot more than us! Or are you just adding more nonsense to this thread?
