I had expected that the squad would be split, was planning to go to Yate tomorrow but a bit disappointed it is just the youngsters.

Little dig at the Bristol Post in the article as well.

I fully expect DC to rotate both keepers throughout the season as he does with most of the outfield players, I dont think we will have a defined No 1. Will be interesting to see how that works if so.

Would love to see Lambert back next season - he would be a huge signing for us. Pace was never his thing, but his vision, hold up play, and striking of a ball was the best I have seen.

It does seem strange that there has been no announcement re: kits. It's a trivial issue in some eyes but it's a clear way of keeping supporters engaged across the summer for the season ahead. In an ideal world we would release the new home shirt on the final home game of the season and the away shirt around the Open Day. I remember going to pick up the new shirt on the last day of the season and proudly wearing it that afternoon, in 2007 the new shirts had been released before the Play Off final at Wembley. Last season was a mess but could perhaps be excused due to the change in supplier but I was expecting us to be far more on the front foot this summer.

I think the problem this coming season will be the expectation from many fans that we have a right to be challenging for automatic/play off spots when I think the reality could well be that with the player turnover this summer it could be a tougher season than many will expect.

Bury sign Jermaine Beckford on a 2 year deal. Looks a very good signing to me. I would have welcomed him here. If they manage to keep him fit and don't sell James Vaughan, they could be there or thereabouts next season. m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39901038This signing highlights one of rovers problems with signing players in that bury is just down the road from preston meaning they can get him cheaper than us. 2 year deal though would most rovers fan like that? i doubt it to be honest though he is a decent player. Why would they get him cheaper just because it is down the road? Surely the attraction for Beckford would be that he wouldn't need to relocate?

Getting bored of all the talk about budgets. So why did you open read a thread called A Top 10 budget? And then post in it? Seems a little pointless... Because I have an opinion? Apologies.

I'd take Luke back. I know he never scored but he assisted in several goals and his skills are worthy of our team. To be fair to him most of the time we pumped high balls to him and expected him to reach his full five foot, f**k all, and win the ball. Maybe if he was here permanently they could learn to play it to his feet and see what he could do. But, at the end of the day, we have no idea what DC is thinking so I am happy to leave it up to him. I think he knows a bit more about it than the rest of us. I just can't wait until the start of the next season. What the heck am i going to do on my Saturdays until August? Total assists = 0

I feel relieved we have finished top 10 in first season back in league one but also quite gutted not to make the play offs... If only we had sweeney and Lumley from the start we would have made it in my opinion... But don't get me wrong I would have only wanted to lose in the final for revenue reasons as we aren't yet ready for championship football. I can feel the pressure already for Darryl and the board to come up with the goods and sign some real quality and keep the likes of bodin. I just really hope the board foremost sort the books out to give Darryl what he deserves because if they don't it's very obvious how ambitious he is and what he's achieved he would be off and I wouldn't Blame him... We need stadium news? I've heard the training facilities isn't going to be what was first planned, Positive transfer news and talk of signing someone soon as we're always too late (I.e Ricky miller already off to Peterborough) Just feel the board need to give Darryl every penny they can to get what he wants as it's important to keep the momentum going or end up without the best manager we've had since Gerry Francis!!! Darryl.

Sorry to see that Montano was not offered a contract. Gutted to be honest. I think Monty is really enjoyable to watch. Works hard going forward and tracking back so it's a difficult one to understand Has no end product, not surprised at all that he hasnt been offered a deal. Better options out there.

The fact players have been offered a contract doesn't mean they will necessarily stay (see Parkes last year).

Pretty sure that it is a policing issue that is impacting availability.

Gaffney would have had my vote for MOTM, goal aside whilst OC did a decent job he didn't particularly stand out to me.
The biggest frustration I had was James being given the penalty when he clearly wasn't the designated taker. The game was far from won at that point (as we later saw) and we should have been more professional. At 3 or 4 up, maybe it would have been a good idea but not then.

Montano is dreadful, can't understand what people see in him. We surely have to raise the bar higher if we are serious about trying to build a team to challenge.

Very good point against a decent team. Good to see Broom come on to play the Easter role but would rather Easter was coming on to play the Easter role.
If you know what I mean.

Oh yes this window is a given. This week could go either way but if Walsall exploit us by putting in crosses and corners then there will be some very angry fans on here next Saturday evening. Don't forget farcebook and twatter; I sense another Gasmeltdown if Joe Hart/Frazer Forster or another international goalkeeper isn't signed this week  Ironically Fraser Forster didn't exactly set the world alight when we had him on loan.
