Anybody have any idea if tickets will be available on the day at the ground?

We’ve had a really rough run of fixtures where I worried we’d struggle to pick up any points but we’ve had a few decent results. Hopefully now we’ve got a lot of the top teams out the way we can go on a good run starting today, I’m feeling optimistic, 3-1 Rovers. UTG!

I certainly wouldn't, can't stand players like that personally. One of the main reasons I don't like Premier or international football. Much rather watch an honest game of football. In fairness I don’t think Matt Rhead is a much nicer bloke than Barton, or certainly not on the pitch anyway. I’d celebrate seeing Rhead being sent off any day of the week.

FFS game over within 3 mins of extra time starting! Would’ve rather just lost it in the 90 and saved the half an hours legs for Saturday. Haha nice one lads, feel free to shut me up like that whenever you fancy! UTG!

Sorry if I’ve missed it somewhere on this thread, but do bbc still do that programme where they show a few highlights (including goals) from the games live?

What really surprises me is the lack of League 1 and 2 games they televise over the international breaks. With no football in the top 2 flights, and a lot of people not caring too much for internationals, that should be the time to give the lower leagues maximum exposure.
You tend to find they might put 1 or 2 on, but it would be great to see 4 or 5, like there would be between the Prem and Championship on a normal weekend.

Harrogate are apparently averaging crowds of 2,118 this season in a ground that holds 5,000. It amazes me that clubs don’t give more tickets to maximise income, when the home end is going to be half full.

Does anyone know if there is a phone number you can ring regarding tickets on a Saturday? The one I’ve seen online says it’s only available Monday to Friday. 0117 9096648 option 1 Thanks

A lot of negative comments towards the manager about his role in tonight’s game after the late equaliser. I suppose Barton’s inffluence on the game must’ve been as bad tonight as it was good on Saturday when we scored a late equaliser. I suppose not many will see it that way.

I’m strangely confident today. I think 2 of our best players returning in Thomas and Nicholson is obviously huge. Add those to Anderson, Evans and Saunders and I think we’ve got more exciting playmaker style players going forward than I can remember us having for a long time.
I think Taylor and Harries seem to be forming a good partnership and with Belshaw playing well behind them I’m starting to regain a bit of faith at the back. Hoole has also obviously been a massive plus this year.
Slight concerns are in the lack of a natural goalscorer up top and the lack of energy in midfield, but at least that is replaced with some really strong experience.
I think if we keep the current lot fit and get Finley/Grant back we’ve definitely got enough about us to go on a decent run. 2-1 Gas win Today, Collins and Nicholson with the goals. UTG!

Feels like we have some talented prospects at the club, but what avenues do we have to help develop them correctly. It seems to me that there just aren't enough games for the teams lower than the first team? They could really do with playing a regular set of even semi competitive games to really test themselves and push them to improve within match situations. Would loans be the only way to do this? If so, should we not be allowing extended loans for multiple months rather than the 1 month that seem to have happened. Give them a chance to settle in their new surroundings? Our development team played in the south section of the Central League about 3 seasons ago which was what you described, semi competitive regular games. I don’t think it’s run the last couple of years due to covid. Looking at this website below, it seems there’s only a northern version of it this year, no south section. uk.soccerway.com/national/england/central-league/20202021/south/r58111/

I'm pretty sure it's 4-3-3 with kilgour at right back but you can never be 100% certain with our stupid graphics. I thought the same. Three in midfield with Westbrooke the most advanced, and then a front 3 of Anderson, Thomas and Saunders.

But your problem is that if the one up front isnt working then your options are extremely limited. And 99% of the time with 4 strikers in the squad we’d have the option of playing 2 of them up top together. We’ve just been very unfortunate that 3 are out at the start of the season. You could always argue we need more, if we had 6 strikers and 5 were out at the same time you could argue we need another, but in reality that’s not plausible. I think we’ve just got to consider ourselves unlucky that we have a few not available at the minute, we haven’t just got a bottomless budget to keep adding and adding. I think the squad we have at the minute is the best we’ve had for a long time and in a league below the one we’ve been playing in for the last few years. One game doesn’t make a season!

In fairness if you plan to play a formation with only one striker then I think having 4 options is ample competition and depth for that one place. You wouldn’t see many teams in the Prem having more than that let alone League 2. Whether those 4 have got the quality is a different question.
Having 3 out of 4 options unavailable is very unfortunate timing at any stage, but especially for the first day of a new season.

I thought we might’ve sold more season tickets than that given no ones been able to watch football for over a year and we’ve had a good summer of recruitment.
How does that compare to previous years? And do many people just turn up and buy theirs on the first home game?

Well it’s come out in the last 24 hours that Coventry and Sheff Utd (Championship clubs), have been failing to pay their staff minimum wage. At least what we were advertising was legal.
The sort of things that we moan about at Rovers probably happen at every club, the only reason we feel embarrassed and people throw a hissy fit is because it’s our club. Perhaps we’re not so bad after all.

Completely agree. If Pitman isn’t past it and can still fire then I’m struggling to see there’d be a better attacking lineup in the league. Anderson is another great wide option at this level as well I think and we don’t really know what Spence can do. Collins and Saunders as backup options through the middle as well, I’m trying to rein in my expectations a little but it’s hard not to be excited about this season. UTG!

View AttachmentThink the pre season thus far has shown we are still struggling to score so would be nice to put that right tomorrow for a confidence boost.A striker scoring from open play would be euphoric. I shall be watching Beer Albion ( Is Richard Walker still manager there?) v Colyton.Dramatic view from their ground. Amazing view that! What a place to play non league football.
