If he does I hope the boo boys who haven't given the poor bloke a chance at all since he was appointed in March/April will be pleased with themselves. A new manager will then come in with his own ideas, his own list of players and this promising looking team will be dismantled and we will have to start from scratch, effectively ruining our chances this season and there's no guarantee they'd get it right for next year either.
DC knows he's on to a good thing here if he can get us promoted this year. 99.99% of fans will be delighted with him if we bounced back at the first attempt and I would be extremely confident of our chances in League Two with this team and him in charge. We're a big club (relative to the level) with a superb fan base, and we have potential to grow if the UWE Stadium does happen (no arguments on that here please!). I think DC would be stupid to trade that in for a run down Victoria Park with very small attendances and a very weak looking squad.

No. The bloke is a Grade A fool. The way he tried to string Rovers fans along on Twitter during the summer saying he was going to 'sign' for us was pathetic. Funny to some, maybe, but it suggests he thinks rather a lot of himself and has little respect for his current team-mates or his employers. With that in mind I don't want him in the quarters and DC won't want him either as he likes loyal, committed players. Other may argue that we need people like that but I for one don't think we do. Oh come on, it was a bit of fun, nothing nasty or malicious about it. Pretty sure Forest Green wouldn't have seen it as fun that their player was saying he was going to sign elsewhere, even if it was a joke. Not very professional and I certainly didn't think it was amusing. Maybe I'm becoming miserable in my old age but it smacked of immaturity to me and I don't want him anywhere near us. In fact, DC said at the SC EGM in the summer that Norwood has a stinking attitude and that he didn't want someone like him at the club.

Absolutely no way would I have Harrison starting ahead of Taylor or Blissett at the minute. He did well at Dorchester and has scored a couple of other goals this year but his all-round contribution to the team is not as good as his colleagues. DC knows he is not a natural finisher and is a headless chicken most of the time (watch MS and SY shout at him every two seconds telling him where to be on the pitch because of his awful positional awareness) so he is choosing players in the squad that have proven they are better than that - Bliss has a lot of potential, Taylor has scored goals at this level, Wall has got some in this division too and Goldberg has been prolific in the level below.
I have much preferred EH's attitude this year and think he is giving himself a chance but I don't think DC is mistreating him or being unfair. I hope he keeps working hard and gets a chance at some point but right now we have others, rightly, ahead of him.

I wouldn't bring Ollie Clarke back into the side; we look an awful lot weaker when Sincs and Manse aren't our CM partnership.
To me, Nathan Blissett looked like he wasn't 100% fit on Tuesday and I think he will be rested from the start tomorrow and Alex Wall will take his place. It is a massive shame because Bliss has brought a lot to the team in the fortnight he has been with us, although Wall looked dangerous at Wrexham and clearly has a ferocious shot on him.

Don't think it would have mattered what league we're in; Wolves are a big club and any side in the Prem or Championship that want to sign an academy/youth player from a lower league club will inevitably get them.

Oh and in regards to Brown, I don't think he's on a huge wage. DC said they wouldn't overpay to keep him because there are, and I loosely quote, "there are plenty of other players who can do the job to a similar or better standard'.

Why would we want Trotman to leave when he has been our best defender? Madness.
Wages-wise all the players on our books last season are on pretty large wages. The gist of my conversation with DC in the summer at the SC EGM was that Brunt was on a fair whack but so were the likes of Mildy, Macca and Parkes. I wouldn't be surprised if MMc did leave to free up large wages but at the same time we don't have enough cover at the back currently and the players we are currently targeting are attack-minded.
If we're signing two strikers soon, which is what James McNamara was hinting at on Twitter, I'd say another striker may leave on loan. Brunt is an obvious choice so we'll see where that goes.

Ollie's goal is as good as it looked last night - what a strike. The celebrations were great and it was noticeable how much louder we were than them.
I am still absolutely convinced by the highlights that Mildy got to the ball first. What cost him is it ricocheted off their player which made it seem as though he got to the ball first. The Puddy incident is one I think we may have got away with but it is still inconclusive as you cannot see the ball properly. Still, we were due a bit of luck in that game given the poor decision earlier on.
Well done Gas.

Sky are reporting about Brunt being lined up for a loan move away but he did stay to watch our game on Tuesday night. He may have left for food or to take his boots home but he watched his team-mates in action.
It's probably in his and our best interests for him to go out and play some games. I wouldn't put him ahead of Taylor or Cunnington and with Harrison performing so well off the bench I wouldn't choose to put him on from the bench either. I like Brunty and sincerely hope he can regain full fitness and suffer from no further knee problems to relaunch his career. He was great for us when he first signed and I had high hopes for him last season but it just wasn't to be with injuries and the like.
With Ryan leaving it may free up enough wages for us to push on and sign the right winger/striker that DC wants.

By no means a disastrous crowd tonight given the circumstances but I had hoped for more than 4800 to be honest. Having said that we have two home games in the space of 5 days and for some people it isn't always possible to afford to attend both matches, so those in that position may have chosen the Saturday game against Woking as the game they want to see and not a Tuesday night game against Nuneaton.

Think he's a very good player and have seen encouraging signs from him in every game he's played in. The level he has reached in the last few games though have been superb and his all-round influence and play on the left is a joy to watch. His deliveries are good, his running is good, he tracks back, etc... I am very impressed.
Given he has no future, seemingly, at Luton I'd like to think we can extend the loan for the full season at the very least. He may be enjoying his football so much that if a permanent move materialised he'd take it and that would be good for stability - both for us and for him.
I think Cunnington, our other loanee, is a good player too and if I was in charge I'd be speaking to Cambridge already to try and extend his loan as well.

I too struggle to see a way back into the side for MMc except in the case of injuries. Trotman and Lockyer can't/won't be dropped and Parkes has slowly steadied himself at this level alongside a dominant, right footed centre half and is probably a long way ahead of MMc as well. Factor in Turley who is very highly rated and chances will be at a premium for our captain.
I'm not sure if there is anything in the rumour that he'd join the coaching staff but it seems a lot more plausible when you realise he may not make the team much anymore. Will he want to become a coach with a good few years left in him in terms of fitness though? Perhaps a loan would be preferable if he is unhappy not making the match day squad.
Turley would be a great signing for us given the interest he has attracted before and now seemingly after his injury and the fact he wants to join us is very good news. I think he and NT will form a formidable partnership.

The meltdown after we lost to Braintree was both unbelievable, staggering and yet understandable all at the same time.
I couldn't believe we had gone from thinking we had turned the corner to thinking that an away loss where we were on the wrong end of a shocking penalty decision and had a good goal disallowed for an incorrect offside call was the end of the world. Having said that I completely understood why Gasheads had just had enough of the fact we are so blooming bad on the road and they weren't happy they had travelled across the country to watch a poor defeat.
What I didn't agree with was the hounding of Darrell Clarke and the doom and gloom merchants coming out to say they were right all along about him being out of his depth, etc. As I've said, we had previously picked up 7 points from 9 but a loss suddenly meant our manager was not good enough. Absolute twaddle.
He may or may not prove to be the man who can get the club back in the Football League but to say he needs sacking already is utter lunacy. We have conceded just one goal at home in four games and have picked up 10 points, which is an outstanding record. In those games we have defeated a side who had previously won every single game and a team with a 100% record on the road. These sides, undoubtedly, will be towards the top of the division come April and yet we beat them both. Did we achieve this sort of thing under previous managers? Not really.
The team are playing for the shirts and look as though they love playing football and that's not something that can be said of previous Rovers teams. We are competing in every home game and if DC can get better results on the road we will be in the top half of the league and in with a shout of the play-offs. We are creating goalscoring opportunities, we look much more organised and our set-pieces look threatening for the first time in years thanks to Dave Martin and Lee Mansell. The fitness levels look good and that is going to be highlighted more and more as the season wears on.
I have been behind Darrell from the start and continue to think he is implementing improvement on the pitch. This thread is a good one and will hopefully show the constant moaners that in comparison to recent years things are slowly getting better with the team. I hope for his sake and of course our own that we can pick up some form on the road and get to where we want to be this season.

Don't think Martin has been that bad overall. In the first half of the Halifax game he got round his man and put in some very teasing crosses. Think it would be incredibly harsh and unfair to write him off just yet considering how shockingly bad EVERYONE was on Saturday.
I'm pleased with Balanta's signing as it was clear we needed to improve our play in the final third of the pitch and when he's fully fit I think his pace and trickery will be a very useful weapon for us. He has been a target all summer so I think labelling him a panic signing is inaccurate, although it's fair to say NH may have agreed to up the terms offered in order to get him in now.
His career has seemingly been on a downward trajectory recently but Yeovil fans seem to think he was a decent player at L1 level and his failed trials this summer may have something to do with a lack of match fitness having spent a year not playing for QPR. DC has clearly wanted him for months now so he's got his wish - fingers crossed he can get the best out of him.

I think with Taylor (hope, anyway) that once he gets one it'll be a huge weight off his mind and he will then go on to score more regularly. His movement his good, he makes intelligent runs and finds himself in good positions, but so far a combination of relatively poor finishing and bad luck has meant he's yet to score. With a bit of luck and a greater understanding with Adam Cunnington this weekend, Matty will get himself off the mark.
Fair play Dins for admitting you were wrong about Trotman. He was superb today and I hope we see his contract extended sometime soon because a defence of NT and Jamie Turley would be very strong IMO.

Halifax fans are understandably confident after their impressive start but they've played some of the weaker teams, as has been mentioned. We've had a very tough start and after a poor opening week we've shown signs of progression this Bank Holiday weekend. I said all along that we have the makings of a decent team but needed to score first in a game to really settle down and play with confidence.
Ideally it would be good to have another man on board before Saturday if at all possible, whether that be someone with pace on the right hand side or someone more central, but I certainly won't be worried if we don't.

Echoing the above, I thought Trotman was outstanding and I have no doubt his short-term deal will be extended because he's a beast in central defence. Like every player at this level he has his weak points but overall he's a dominant central defender. As Bideford says, Trotman and Turley could very easily be our first choice pairing if/when he is fit and signs for the club.
Well done Neal and, overall, well done defence.

I thought he played well and he definitely contributes more than Matt Harrold did and he's only been here two days.
Maybe a little rusty but there was certainly encouraging signs. I thought he played quite well.

Good summary Ras, think I'd have written near enough exactly the same myself.
I was encouraged by what I saw today after the first half hour. We were effected by Telford's disgraceful time wasting at first but got to grips with it a bit in the sense that we began getting the ball into their box as quickly as possible to put them on the back foot. Trotman was unlucky with his header that hit the bar and had he scored that I think we'd have won very comfortably in the end - but it wasn't to be.
Second half we were a lot better and the relief when we scored was incredible, both for the fans, management and the team. We settled down from that point and grew in confidence, which is something I said would be the case since after the Grimsby game. It felt as if we'd broken down a barrier and we could now attack with freedom and intent. Martin, who looked very good, put in a disappointing ball from the left when all it required was a low cross for Taylor or Monkhouse to tap home and there were a few turns and shots in the box that were deflected behind with last minute blocks by the Telford defence. On another day we could easily have scored three.
Then as we approached the 90 minute mark the edginess crept back in as we hadn't added to our lead. It led to a few anxious moments but in truth Telfrod never really threatened Mildenhall and we deservedly saw out the game, much to everyone's delight. Getting that first 3 point haul will be a massive lift for everyone and hopefully we will now see a more confident, purposeful Rovers - beginning on Monday against FGR.
Well done Gas.
