Usual poisonous short sighted morons on here calling for his head and embarrassingly still going on about we were 4th for a couple of weeks last season. He came in to a team of wrongful signings that managed to get some results mainly down to anssi and jch having blinding performances and a lot of luck and shocking football which was never sustainable and garner wants to play football, the sort of attractive football that is sustainable and the sort of football which would bring back the crowds to the mem which was on a big decline even when we were 4TH!!!! He’s brought in with his back room staff our best signings in a very long time on the plan of playing football and his experience of coaching in the premiership etc which previous managers wouldn’t have got over the line.. They need time to gel and if it takes 2 seasons to get play offs and long term gashead like myself or intelligent level headed gashead would bite their hand off. These idiots and it’s always the same ones on here with nothing better to do saying “how long do we give him?” We give him as long as the board gives him. These people are the cancer of modern day football fans. If it’s not instant (with the players he’s brought in) they think the more you say it on social media you have enough power to sack someone!!! It’s embarrassing. We aren’t Sunderland or Ipswich with big pockets and championship facilities and we’re so far off league one mid table for that. We haven’t got loads of money to buy Our way out of this league so we need to have a decent plan going forward which is buy young prospects and in a year of being together coach them to top 6 players. I wasn’t expecting a point from our first two games and we get one at Sunderland (but apparently that’s only because Sunderland we’re so bad according to the usual muppets on here), We lost to Ipswich, move on and get behind the team and see we have prospects playing for us and a manager trying to play the right way. I know these people won’t because that’s how their brains work but why not let the season progress before starting up such negative embarrassing threads such as this. So, can somebody explain to me what gives you the right to refer to people (Rovers fans, just like you) as “Poisonous, short-sighted morons”? These people are Gasheads, but unlike you are not full of blind optimism about a “manager” who has now had 20-odd games, a full pre-season and has recruited a team full of his own players, but still overwhelmingly failed to show one shred of improvement over the second half of last season, when he took us from 4th to almost bottom of the league. What gives you the right to dismiss the genuine concerns of Rovers fans who are worried that this man is not capable of managing our team? Do you think you are somehow more of a fan than them because you blindly follow St Ben10 and refuse to allow any criticism of him? It really must be lovely to be that superior . . . Nobody WANTS the team, the club or the manager to fail, why would they? It’s just that some of them, myself included, aren’t convinced he is up to the job. But hey, let’s just carry on blindly supporting Garner like you, cos that’s bound to make it all come good.

Didn't even read the post. Anyone backing Garner with 2 wins in over 20 games and utterly toothless football needs to give their head a wobble. Wake up By December 21st we might be in a situation where we have only 2 league wins in a calendar year. And yet the apologists will still be claiming he just needs more time, more players, more luck and that the last year doesn’t count, or was just a bad dream, or something equally as ridiculous when the actual facts state quite clearly that the man just isn’t a manager. “G-G-GDL . . . I personally don’t see us as good enough yet to beat the likes of Sunderland or Ipswich who have a vastly more experienced and higher paid, valued team - remember a lot of their players are ex championship and prem players and they have a higher budget etc than us. I think we are a mid table side at present. I watch because I enjoy football and support my team .... and currently the manager We were good enough to beat them last season. Don't you see a problem with that? This is losers talk. Pure and simple. Bumble along the bottom of the league till we go down Rovers. Then do it again in the league below and maybe bounce back once every ten years. “G-G-GDL . . . G-G-GDL . . . Agree with this.
We are crying out for a midfielder that can run with the ball. However, he also needs to be someone with a bit of pace who isn't afraid of a tackle. Players like that are hard to come by. Sheehan seems to tick those boxes but can we get him?
A natural goalscorer is also needed because there is very little in their records to suggest any of our forwards are likely to get more than 10 goals.
If Hanlon gets 10 league goals this season I’ll turn up to the memorial stadium in a City shirt. Why would you even have one?

Hes got 10 more games and I expect a minimum of 5 wins, any less and I will want him gone Why 10? Seems to be the magic number. I’m assuming that’s 10 in addition to the 21 he’s already had . . .

In fairness, he gets 10 games starting from next week - so ask us after those. The friendlies are out the way now, so next week is our first real test. Unless we lose of course, in which case it will start the following week . . .

The first 3 fixtures were always going to be tough, 2 of the favourites and a Doncaster size who are a bogey team but also a team regularly at the top of this league. Whilst it has been tough to watch so far, I will reserve judgement until we play some of the weaker teams or those likely to be bottom half. The hard earned point at Sunderland doesn't look so bad when they go to Oxford today and win against another team likely to be around the play offs. BG has to be given a good 20 games with 'his team' before we can fully determine whether he is likely to be a success. I admit I have my doubts, but I will support him for the foreseeable future. He’s already had 21

How many goals from open play have we scored since Garner has been here? Not sure about open play but overall: Garner: 22 games. 14 goals 38 conceded In Clarke's last season it was 29 games 27 goals 36 conceded Coughlan when he was hired was: 28 games 35 goals 28 conceded Coughlan last season: 27 games 41 goals 32 conceded Clarke = back-to-back promotions; Coughlan = got us to 4th place in the league; Garner =

For me this illustrates why some of us felt that even with his own players it doesn’t change that Garner is fundamentally a poor manager at this point in his career. Last season we nearly set a record of minutes without a goal, he’s now got his own players, had a lot of time on the training pitch and yet we can still barely muster an attack worthy of the name. 2 goals in 4 competitive games and one of those was a penalty. You can give him all the players you like he hasn’t got the nous to make a cohesive whole. Noooooooooo! G-G-GDL . . . G-G-GDL . . . Lets give him 10 more games. After next week. Or maybe the week after. Garner will come good. If we lose every game this season, will the season count?

Not an awful lot has changed in my opinion. We were 2nd best today and if Sunderland had take one of their many chances it would have been deserved in my opinion. We battled hard and defended in numbers which is a huge improvement from Ipswich but it will take more than a lucky draw to convince me that Ben10 is the man. Why is he Ben10? 10 games to prove himself (not including the 20 he’s already had . . .)

Absolutely. We should have won! Why do you bother supporting Rovers if you want to sack the manager after we started the season undefeated in a tough away fixture, it's not like we're Sunderland fans who think playing L1 football is below our level. Easy, hoss- it was a tongue-in-cheek comment

If the first half is a sign of things to come this season, then we will do fine. Was a bit backs to the wall in the second half but we defended very well. Little probably had his best game for us. Leahy was decent. (I've always thought he was an ok wing back in this league). Harries look good too, has a lot of potential. Hanlan showed promise and hopefully will improve his match fitness. Its nice to have a striker with pace. He will win a lot of free kicks as we saw yesterday with the yellow card that wasn't given. He will also get goals for us. Ayunga will be a good option from the bench. Had pretty much our only other shot at goal, he did well to beat the defender to get the shot in. I thought Grant did ok. I think if we want to attack teams more, then Upson will be a better choice. I think this is also why Little got the nod because he is the better defender of our wing backs. Hare/Rodman will more likely play against the teams we will have more of a chance of beating and want to attack. Good post - especially the bit about Little - I thought he played really well against Cardiff and have been quite surprised that people have been slagging him off on here recently. He may not be the quickest, but he seemed to be getting stuck in all over the place, breaking up attacks and looking to get the ball downfield.

Why did Garner start Hanlan,he couldn't have been match fit, thank god it was only cramp, what if it was a hamstring. The guy who has never played at any level hasn't got a clue. No positives today and no good 90 minutes under the belt for the youngsters, no yeah's either. Look at me .... Look at me...I’m skipping! Pathetic Post and very inaccurate. Have to agree with Lionheart on this. I’m still not convinced about Garner, but I think he chose pretty much the right starting 11 and we did well to grind out that point, which may well be important later in the season. Hanlan did well and we really missed him after he’d been subbed, but I don’t think Garner had any choice over whether or not to play him, as we really needed his presence up front. It was cramp, that’s all. I’m not Garner’s biggest fan, but lots of positives to take from yesterday, I feel. Let’s see what happens against Ipshit. UTG

Who came up with with CDM I thought it was DCM as when would you ever call a player Central Defensive Midfielder? Even I think TG for the training ground is a step too far particularly given that we've already got a TG as one of our Directors! Problem is all these new signings look good on paper/YouTube but god damn awful on the pitch, I bet if we signed Messi or Bale they'd probably look poor playing for us! It's really time they stepped up a gear or 3, Cadbury’s Dairy Milk?

What are people expecting to change though from a 3-0 defeat at Ipswich? Are we going to suddenly start taking it seriously and look like a different team overnight because it’s the league and you can turn this stuff on and off at will? If anyone can Ben can. It’s all part of a cunning plan - a clever ruse - designed to fool the rest of League 1 into thinking that we’re not very good . . . And then, Kapow! Automatic promotion . . . #team Ben #GarnerDefenceLeague
