I’m far more concerned about the Covid affects on our economy, short and long term, than our short term trade arrangements. The despair expressed by some on how ‘disastrous’ No deal could be seems odd when there is so little concern about the effect Covid will have on the economy and wider health for generations. Where is the little care? Literally everyone on here has expressed a lot of concern for the economy and health of our citizens. I'd actually suggest its the Tory voters who don't care, if any, as they're the ones who voted for Brexit (knowing is would harm our economy) and still backing an incapable government no matter what mistake they make. But let me guess, it's the left/Corbyns fault again? Oh, so it was 17.4 million Tories who voted to leave. Silly me, I was thinking that plenty of those people would have been disenfranchised Labour voters, like those in the Red Wall constituencies. Until you can get the basics right it's probably best if you keep your thoughts to yourself. Better to have people merely think you're an idiot etc etc.

Can I ask who your contacts are?? If I’m wrong then I apologise but I know a couple of lads that work for Marneb and they are pretty sure that rovers haven’t been in for him. No And its for this reason I wont be posting any future news. All the news I posted was in good faith and to let the fans know what goes on in the background. some sign some talk but come to nothing some just fail and unless I am consistently in the "some sign" category then there have been times where I get ripped apart. So no, theres not a hope in hell am I giving you a contact so that people can berate them also Fair comment and you'll always get some people who want to know the ins and outs of a cats arse because they don't like the thought of someone knowing more than them. I like your bits of information and I read them with the understanding that you have no control over the outcome and that more will fall that complete the circuit. Just ignore those who glory when it doesn't work out, they're only jealous. Please continue to post what you've heard!

I'm really happy with this! Good signing and one I wouldn't have thought of. Been on the Charlton Fans Forum and surprised they're not to bothered about him going out on loan to a league one rival. I wonder if we will be allowed to play him against Charlton?

With Burnham playing politics and trying to blackmail the government perhaps the whole country should be locked down and him publicly blamed for it. When the first Furlough terms were revealed pretty much everyone I spoke to was stunned at the 80% being offered, most felt this was unsustainable and were worried about the long term repercussions. It seems this generous approach back then is causing a problem now with the likes of Burnham rejecting the new 2/3rd’s offer. A pretty hideous tactic refusing the more stringent lockdown and risking worsening the health situation for the public in his region. The financial measures seem perfectly fair and will be applied to any other area, north or south, if and when they move to Tier 3. Perhaps he should be questioning the behaviour of the people in his area and how they became one of the worst areas for spread in Europe and whether they’ll obey the rules to turn their situation around. Burnham's Labour isn't he? 'Nuff said. Look at that Prat Max Headroom twisting and turning with the wind. Most of those Labour honchos would have trouble finding their own arse.

That's about the size of it. We've heard it from the horse's mouth, nothing's going to happen for the foreseeable, so this place goes into meltdown about the possibility of a new stadium or developing the Mem. I like the Mem, leave it alone. Of course you like the Mem, it's practicaly you, old, bits falling off, leaks everywhere and stinks of cold pasties and urine. To say nothing of the blokes hanging around the back of the stands sucking on their No 6 tipped!

I love going to The Mem, the crappy tents, every part of the ground looking different, watching from the East stand at the Thatchers in full voice, the superb playing surface.
My favourite footie experience has to be going away. The planning in the week before hand, picking up the match tickets from the Mem shop and having a browse through the merchandise, picking up the train tickets from Temple Meads.
Getting the sandwiches and snacks and drinks ready on Friday evening. Getting up early on Saturday, driving to Temple Meads and catching the train. On arrival at the host town/city making our way from the station towards the ground and finding a pub. Having a drink and chatting to the home fans before going to the ground. The buzz of anticipation before the teams come out. The singing and sense of belonging with the Gas fans throughout the game, and the occasional elation when we win.
Christ I miss football!

Graham Alexander sacked from Salford. He only won 7 of his last 20 games last season following promotion from the conference meaning They missed out on the play offs. They are also unbeaten this season with 2 wins and 3 draws and sit 5th in the league. Puts a few things into context doesn’t it. They’ve probably got a big name lined up and have been waving the cheque book around.

Exactly this. Sometimes the Grass isn't greener, and for GC it might be going up in smoke...ahem! I don’t think he was here long enough to make a name for himself, if he fails at Mansfield that will stick to him and define him. He’ll be back on defensive coach duties for an EFL side before long imo. Good, it would serve him right the two-faced shitbag.

Nicholson, like Westbrooke will come good. They both want the ball and try to make things happen going forwards.Compare Westbrooke to O.Clarke who did appear to hide in some games, they’re like chalk and cheese. We have quality players in these two, amongst others as well. Let's face it. Garner has put together a very decent squad. Whether it all works out time will tell, but they are very good players. I agree, and it seems we have some quality coming through from the youth ranks as well. The future appears to be bright.

Watched on an iPad with the EFL app which I noticed updated twice this week , happy to say worked perfectly today, apart from the annoying adverts before & halftime £10 well spent especially with the result. Has anyone had any joy connecting iPad to a HD TV if so what connecting setup do you use? Have tried with HDMI bur there’s just not enough data on I follow and the picture plays in a series of jerks.

Nobody particularly enjoyed GC’s method of play, but it was getting results. We were sitting near the top of the table and I came on here and said we should be careful what we wished for because other clubs would be sitting up and taking notice. I went to Ipswich and celebrated like mad an excellent away win. Coughlan was celebrating with us, the 2 faced bastard. We were on the train leaving Ipswich station when he made his announcement and was gone, literally the next day. So he knew all along.
He left us with a team designed and built in his image. Wael appointed a diametrically opposed coach and we all, for some reason, expected he would produce winning football, and moaned and groaned when it didn’t happen. There is an argument that he should have continued Coughlan style but that would be akin to asking a devout Muslim to become a Christian.
Covid to some extent came to Bens rescue and he has been able to build his own squad. Again, much credit to Wael for that. After an inauspicious start, during which those young players have started learning what L1 men’s football is all about, there’s signs they’re getting to grips and BGs methods are starting to shine through. There will be games where we get tanned, but hopefully there will be more Northamptons and Lincolns than Ipswich and Doncasters. And we sem to have unearthed a couple of gems in Hanlon and Tutonda.
Coughlan? His side are languishing 5th from bottom of L2 and their fans are not happy at all and are starting to want him fired.
He deserves all he gets, the 2 faced Shitbag.

Although we all hate not being able to go to games, it might be the one thing that saved BG so far. If the season hadn’t been halted in the spring, chances are we would have kept losing and the ground swell against him would have been so bad he would have probably been sacked. I for one would rather see us try and change the whole culture of the club, than employ someone to get instant results with any given group of players. That is usually successful in the short term but eventually the wheels fall off. Arguably we’ve been doing that for most of our existence. I would much rather the club was known for playing good football and investing in youth. If it is successful I can’t see how anyone would disagree with that ethos? UTG Our political opinions and beliefs may be poles apart but we both love The Gas. Your points above mirror exactly how I feel and I hope that Garner is given the time he needs to perfect his project. He obviously has an incredible depth of knowledge about young players on the fringes of the big clubs, and until we get a stadium capable of hosting decent sized crowds in comfort and where there are plenty of and easy ways for them to spend additional money, we will always have to sell to survive. I believe it’s known as market forces! UTG.

You might never know if we will have a 15/20 goals a season striker or natural finisher as they keep being fouled before they have a chance to score. Absolutely, but we don’t live in a world where guaranteed pens are always given. It’s simply the way it is that refs often bottle penalties because they can materially significantly affect the game. Put it another way, if you were to look at the penalty market for a game with the bookies the price for a penalty to be awarded in a game is usually around 4/1, that’s quite a big price considering Gaschat seems to think they are awarded every time there is a foul in the box. The odds are that high because penalties are uncommon and we’ve had something like 4 in 5 games and we have needed every one of those pens to get a result. It’s not negativity, it’s probability. We need to score goals from open play. How many have we scored from open play in 5 league games? Of those how many have our strikers scored? Some interesting questions there. Like I say I’m not convinced going forward that Daly, Ayunga and Hanlan have got a striker’s instinct to get enough goals between them even with the rest of the team chipping in. Time will tell though, happy for this to be bounced back to the top if we progress to free scoring football. I think Hanlan will win us a fair few pens this season. Not because he’s a diver, but because he runs with the ball close to his feet and under close control. He also has amazing body strength, just like Barry Hayles. He is therefore difficult to knock or lean off the ball. Defenders will get frightened/ frustrated and foul him. Ergo pens will follow. When he went off yesterday the Lincoln commentators, who I thought were excellent, said that’s just what you want from your striker. He won a penalty and got his centre half booked. Not long after his centre half got another booking and was sent off. I hope we keep hold of Hanlon. Wael should get him and Tutonda in the office and sign them on better and longer terms. That way, when they’re sold, we’ll get a lot more for them.

Big shout out to the defence today, the blocks & clearances from our penalty area were outstanding. For all the possession Lincoln had I can only recall Jaakola having to make 1save due to defence in front of him. Massive improvement from the last away match at Donny & great to see in Hanlon we have found a striker who causes so many problems to the opposition back line utg I said to my son that the defence were playing like a Coughlan side during the 2nd half.

Yeah fair point, although I don’t think they f**ked us with Mays deal. She f**ked us. They’re just negotiating and did everything legally, as is their right. As long as we do the same back I’m more than happy to do the same. I thought the fishing waters thing had been dealt with now? Or did I dream that? I also thought part of the problem was the EU wanting to protect Danish fishermen who’ve always had access to our waters? Makes no difference either way, I’m with you on this one. If we’re leaving the EU, I’d rather have a 2 way trade on fishing than just fishing in each other’s waters. I don’t really see how we’d benefit from that. First, May never negotiated a "deal", she was negotiating the Withdrawal Agreement, which was not a trade deal. She made a "Horlicks" of that by forgetting the impact on Northern Ireland, so her own MPs rebelled, ousted her, but then implemented pretty much the same WA with all the residual arrangement issues in Northern Ireland. On fishing. I don't get why we are fussing so much about it. It's a tiny element of our economy and an awful.lot of what our domestic fishing industry catches is exported....to the EU. So without an FTA those exports, like so many others, will be hammered by tariffs. All this posturing is pathetic, not helped by the nationalists who will wantonly ignore, or not understand, the detail and buy Johnson's pathetic and bombastic buffoonery making statements like "this great nation"...in 2030. In the meantime they are so thick they implement a Track and Trace system based on an Excel spreadsheet software which was superceded in 2007. And these people are negotiating are future economic well being. Well you voted for them at the referendum and put them in power in 2019. You know who you are, go stand in the naughty corner with a big pointy hat on bearing a capital D. 🧐😜 There you go then Gassy, your best mate Oldie, the Great Marxist, has just called us both out, stated he is unilaterally prepared to surrender our sovereignty to the EU and called us dunces. Its good to know who your friend are and he's also obviously getting a little uncomfortable because we've been discussing sensibly and has decided to come between us. The wrinkled old tart.

I may be mistaken but I seem to remember that the EU offered a Canada type deal at the very beginning of the negotiations (2016) but that treacherous cow May declined and instead negotiated her dreadful surrender that got kicked out about 3 times. It therefore follows that the stupid woman would have refused to accept a Canada type deal if proposed when MPs took over. in any case, what chance do you think there would have been of the EU saying "Yes of course, if the opposition parties want a Canada deal then you shall have one" when they had royally f**ked us over with Mays deal? No-one in their right minds would accept Norway, which would have meant us paying into and following EU rules without any say or veto. Madnesses! When Boris won his famous victory the EU didn't want to alter the surrender document May agreed, and we have the current situation. Quite why the EU, and the bloody French in particular, think we should allow the ECJ legal supremacy, accept their rules on state aid and allow free and unfettered access to our fishing waters is beyond me. I wonder how the French would react if we demanded they allow us to go into their vineyards and pick all their grapes every year? Yeah fair point, although I don’t think they f**ked us with Mays deal. She f**ked us. They’re just negotiating and did everything legally, as is their right. To be honest I sometimes lose track of the fishing waters business. It seems that one minute Barnier is going back to the EU and telling they must accept our position, then it seems the French, its always the French, who block this, citing whatever obscure reason they can. I think when we leave we'll have their fishermen blockading the ports and the French govt. with have to get tough on them, and we all know how the French farmers and fishermen love a good protest and strike.

I thought Jeremy Corbyn was going to re-negotiate the deal with the EU, then put that deal, together with the option of just staying within the EU, to the people in another referendum. As any deal negotiated by Corbyn would have been suicidal we would have voted to remain, which is what the Trecherous bastards wanted all along. Thornberry said she didn't mind which way it went just so long as she could have uninterrupted access to that yummy Belgian chocolate. Yeah I’m not denying it was a shocking strategy from Corbyn. He tried too hard to please everyone on Brexit and ended up losing a lot of the middle ground. If you think back to when MPs took over parliament to vote on new ways forward in Brexit, both Canada and Norway was put forward by the opposition as a suggested deal type with the EU. The Tories ordered the party to vote both options down. Which is why I challenged FG to say that really we can’t complain, we had that option on the table and the Tories said no. I may be mistaken but I seem to remember that the EU offered a Canada type deal at the very beginning of the negotiations (2016) but that treacherous cow May declined and instead negotiated her dreadful surrender that got kicked out about 3 times. Goodness me. I see they are out in full flow tonight. BTW, what did happen to our education system that enabled this? I agree. What self-respecting English teacher would have been happy at the thought of one of his/her protégées leaving school thinking that 'Good innit"' was an acceptable standard of grammar?
