Never heard the expression 'jungle drums', I took it to mean like war drums or those you'd find on an ancient galley - they're thumping cos we need wins to have a playoff chance? Anyway, let's smash em 💥 Christ, where have you been? It used to be a Semaphore at Eastville With our nautical links shouldn't we be running up flags?

I can't shake this gut feeling that we are going to create history and make it 3 in a row and replace city... The storyline is there - Our relegation and rise back up,our takeover,DC, Pantsdown millions spent and his ego with this bristol sport BS,Taylor's move, the 16 year old "gap"...etc I'm honestly putting £5 on a bristol double tomorrow by us swapping places. Better get on the phone to Hollywood and secure the film rights before it's too late!

Can't we have Santa's urinal immortalised in bronze as a permanent reminder of how far we have come in the last couple of years? Mind you, with the price of scrap bronze what it is, it probably won't be that permanent!

Maybe we should play our back four up front in the yellow strip and see if they can score a few "own goals" for Oxford. 😊

N,n,n,n,n,n,nineteen!
What ever did happen to Paul Hardcastle? Was it the shame of having a Kevin Keegan hairstyle?
Well **** me! I just looked it up and it was 32 years ago. Hope we don't have to wait as long for page 20.
Edit: Well done Marshfieldgas, you got there first!

Thanks for posting those views Mario, and I agree we did what needed doing, we strengthened what was weak - the defence. The only thing I'd say is I still genuinely believe we have a shot this season yet, we've got a fantastic hardworking squad and would never write them off. Good times. I agree with this Jon, we're not out if the running yet. With each draw (Port Vale aside) we've gotten closer and closer. I believe Luke James has it in him, if he can just find his scoring boots we will start turning these draws into wins. String a few together and we'll be right in the mix! I believe the perceived wisdom is that if you average two points per game over the course of a season you will be promoted (which it looks like Sheffield Utd are on course to achieve). If we had been winning one and drawing one recently everyone would be raving that we had hit promotion form, so the fact that we haven't lost the last six against mostly top of the table teams and now have the opportunity to win a few gives me hope. I know that there is no such thing as an easy game, and we are playing against a higher standard of opposition, but if recent history is anything to go by DC paces the team over the season to enable a strong finish. I might be imagining it but he seems to be making fewer changes in the starting line up now we are into the "business end", however he retains the element of surprise with different formations making us hard to predict. I am going to stick my neck out and say that we will start to gain momentum after last nights game at Bolton and we WILL finish in the playoffs. I don't think the end of this season will peter out at all, unlike some people on this forum, so excuse me but I am going to get excited about the possibilities when facing Millwall at home on the final day. I believe!

I hope I'm wrong , I feel we may choke Millwall / Charlton style. Ass whupping on the cards. Come at me you positive pr1cks. Think we'll do a Leicester and rediscover our scintillating form in front of goal. The beard will astound everyone by going on a mazy run from the half way line, send the keeper the wrong way with a Jedi mind trick and finish in the bottom right hand corner. Then another one of our back four who haven't scored lately will put one past Lumley, but no matter as our never say die attitude will get us back into the game, Lines curling in a stupendous free kick from just outside the box followed by a powerful back post header from Sweeney. Bolton will go down to ten men early in the second half, as they can't cope with our one touch passing football and put in stupid tackles out of frustration. We then show boat for half an hour to the chants of "can you tell us from Brazil", wrapping things up in the 93rd minute as James calmly slots a one on one past the keeper, and in the process proving that he is better than the other one who just left. 😊

He was special enough to have his own song. Not all the players from the Conference season can claim that. Respect ✊

Think you need to re-read the Bible! Bringing a temple crashing down on his head must have done him a bit of harm? Re-read, as in you have finished it once already? Does it have a happy ending?

The Duke of Guernsey has just done an interview with the media, and confirmed that LJ will not be sacked!!! GET IN! CHAMPERS ALL ROUND. Twatty Taylor's arse must be looking like a Japanese flag at the thought of a visit to the Mem next season! #PastyChuckers Wow! The photographs LJ has of SL must be really compromising. Wait a minute, maybe it was GJ who got the photos and that's how LJ got the job in the first place.

As much as we take the p**s out of the Duck of Guernsey I'm sure that BRFC is also something of a vanity project for WAQ. I know it would be for me. I'm sure he chose us exactly because we were sh** and had nothing. What we did have was support. Big crowds given our level at the time and resources would have been a great start for him. Everything else he gets to build in his own image. We basically came baggage free and a completely blank canvas. It's clear he is a proper football man and wants to leave a lasting mark in football. I'm really confident he will do the right thing by us. I agree with that, not to mention it can potentially help Jordanian Football and certainly will boost his profile there in that respect.
Of course it is a vanity project to a degree, otherwise as investment bankers they wouldn't bother and the Al-Qadi's could do something far better and easier to make money
If it was a vanity project it would have to be a big name Prem club to impress the kind of people that I imagine WAQ mixes with. If it was pure vanity you would buy a Maserati not a Lada!

Maybe we are better at identifying and outing thugs which leads to an increased conviction rate. Other teams fans who are more tolerant of hooligans may do a better job of hiding the idiots. Also, it's easier to identify and convict one or two when they are the only ones doing it. It's much harder to pick out individuals when lots of them are misbehaving. Personally, I'm glad we have a high banning order rate. It means we are actively getting rid of people who cause trouble and make watching Rovers dangerous or unpleasant. Would a banning order on Nobby when he has his Fez on be appropriate ? Depends where he's balancing it! 😉

What ! 5-The pasty was succulent, full of flavour. Fantastic. Come to Cornwall and see how a REAL pasty tastes (well, so long as it is one of Anne's on the Lizard !!) I'm a chokes Falmouth man myself 😉 I think you will find that most people will choke with a full mouth. I'm sure a few of the regulars on here can confirm.

Henbury Gas , apologies if I offended you. I'm not offended, i'm as thick skinned as any bloke, but we do have some young fans who read this forum who may get worried when the next go to church What are you saying, that there really are people under the age of 50 on this forum? ...yes, finally got to three stars! How much more drivel/non-factual UWE progress news/dodgy humour/grammar correction/argumentative bants do you need to post to get four?

Maybe they can't decide on the colour of the doors, or alternatively if it's a quartered timber veneer design whether it contravenes equality legislation with regards to the six fingered lot who might frequent the place. Oh hang on a minute, it's a university so obviously not. 😉 Ah, now this explains it. As a university they are probably caught up in discourse around the existential quality of the door, and whether it exists as a door, even when it is closed. Ok, I'm with you now! It's the, "when is a door not a door?", joke, but they totally missed it.

Keen is positive to me, if they had said "not keen" I would have been more concerned.
I agree that it's not a particularly optimistic statement but I don't see what benefit UWE would have gained from making anything other than this statement, particularly as it's obvious that a deal has not been agreed.
The negotiations are going on behind closed doors and I don't think anyone should read too much into these statements.
Given the pace of negotiations, I suspect they spent a few months deciding if the doors behind which negotiations would take place should be open, closed or ajar. Maybe they can't decide on the colour of the doors, or alternatively if it's a quartered timber veneer design whether it contravenes equality legislation with regards to the six fingered lot who might frequent the place. Oh hang on a minute, it's a university so obviously not. 😉

Not quite sure which universe I'm in. Rovers and the 82ers have hated each other since the sixties. I think its different now for the worse, when i was growing up lots supported one team but watched the other play, not now although football is more expensive i think its nastier now between red and blue. ...and probably part of the reason for the recent gentlemen's agreement between the clubs on transfer dealings. They could see how toxic the situation had become and that there was a very real danger that something serious could occur. As employers they have a duty of care towards their employees and there was a foreseeable risk that could have found them culpable as much as anyone who stepped over the line. Sad times.
